Abstract

Coal is the main fuel in steam power plants (PLTU) whose availability is dwindling. Realizing this, one of the efforts made is to mix coal with other fuels, known as Co-Firing. This is done as an effort to substitute new and renewable energy and is friendly to the environment. The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of a mixture of kedondong sawdust in coal on performance and exhaust emissions at PLTU. This research was conducted using quantitative methods based on experimental data. Kedondong wood powder as co-firing is varied, namely 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and compared to 100% coal. The combustion process is carried out in the boiler and the data obtained is in the form of operating parameters and exhaust emissions. Based on this research, it was found that all operational parameter data were normal and were within the allowable standard limits. Likewise, exhaust emissions produced by both NOx and SO2 show better results than the use of 100% coal.

Abstract

Moving assets, such as buses, trucks, and trains, are important productive assets, especially in the transport industry. Effective tracking of these assets is essential to optimize operations, ensure safety, and minimize costs. However, traditional tracking methods often lack real-time monitoring, which leads to inefficiencies and potential risks. This research proposes a mobile asset tracking system with a special focus on railway assets and leverages GPS technology for real-time positioning and IoT for data transmission to a cloud-based data center. A prototype of the system was successfully developed using hardware connected to a GPS device that continuously transmits location data. In this paper, an application for visualization management has also been developed to display asset data and track asset positions in real time. Performance evaluation was conducted using the RAMS (reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety) framework, which showed an average update interval of 49 seconds, a system availability rate of 94% for one month, and better maintainability due to the plug-and-play nature of the GPS-based system. Although long-term safety improvements require further study, the proposed system improves on existing navigation methods by providing real-time tracking and increasing operator awareness. These findings highlight the potential of GPS and IoT integration in improving asset tracking and operational efficiency in the transport sector.

Abstract

This research aims to determine whether Project Based Learning (PjBL) and learning motivation on students' critical reasoning abilities in the Science Material of Forms of Substances and Their Changes at SD Muhammadiyah Terpadu Ponorogo partially or simultaneously. The population in this study were all fourth grade students at the Ponorogo Integrated Muhammadiyah Elementary School which consisted of 5 groups with a total of 130 students, while the sample was taken from 2 groups using random sampling to obtain a sample of 52 students. This research instrument uses a questionnaire for the variable implementation of Project Based Learning (PjBL) and student learning motivation, and uses a test for the variable students' critical reasoning abilities. Data analysis uses partial and simultaneous correlational analysis. For statistical testing, the SPSS version 25.0 program was used. The results of the research concluded that the application of Project Based Learning (PjBL) and student learning motivation had a very strong influence, both partially and simultaneously, on students' critical reasoning abilities in the Science Material of Forms of Substances and Their Changes at the Ponorogo Integrated Muhammadiyah Elementary School.
