Abstract

Budidaya kepiting bakau dengan Vertical Crab House menjadi alternatif pembesaran kepiting dengan lahan terbatas untuk memenuhi permintaan di perkotaan. Namun masih banyak resiko kematian kepiting bakau disebabkan proses pengendalian kualitas air masih manual dalam mengendalikan kualitas air sirkulasi. Hal ini membutuhkan tenaga manusia dan waktu ekstra untuk memastikan kualitas air sirkulasi sesuai dengan kondisi lingkungan pertumbuhan kepiting bakau. Ditambah lagi metode Vertical Crab House tidak dapat mengidentifikasi kondisi kualitas air secara tepat, tidak dapat mengecek kondisi kualitas air secara real-time, dan tidak dapat mengecek kondisi temperatur, salinitas, amonia, dan pH secara simultan. Kondisi lingkungan yang tidak sesuai dengan parameter dan tidak termonitor membuat resiko kematian kepiting bakau masih sangat tinggi sehingga menyebabkan pembudidaya mengalami kerugian yang cukup besar. Permasalahan tersebut menjadi dasar terciptanya sistem otomatisasi pengendalian kualitas air untuk mengoptimalkan proses budidaya kepiting bakau dengan metode Vertical Crab House. Proses pengendalian kualitas air tersebut dilakukan dengan memasang sensor, kontroler, dan aktuator yang diintegrasikan sehingga proses pengendalian kualitas air dapat berjalan terus-menerus untuk memastikan air yang tersirkulasi sesuai dengan lingkungan yang optimal bagi pertumbuhan kepiting bakau. Selain itu, kualitas air sirkulasi pada budidaya dapat dipantau secara real-time melalui aplikasi smartphone.

Abstract

Banyuwangi is a regency with a coastline length of about 175.8 km with 10 islands. The east coast of Banyuwangi (Bali Strait) is one of the largest fish producers in East Java. Banyuwangi is the second largest producer of fishery commodities in Indonesia. One of the villages in Banyuwangi Regency, Mojopanggung Village, has the potential for a thriving squid cracker business. The management of crackers in this village has not changed significantly from year to year, 90% of the management of the ponds is done traditionally, starting from the process of making raw materials for crackers, drying crackers to the marketing process. The most common problem faced by cracker business owners is the loss caused by the rainy season. Almost 50% to 75% of the crackers are not produced in a period of 1 to 4 months due to limited sunlight as a medium for drying crackers. This is evident from the decreasing amount of production. The most influential factor is the heating medium that changes based on natural conditions. Meanwhile, the demand for all types of crackers continues to grow. In its management, one of the dynamic elements that need to be considered is the temperature of the cracker dryer. Some of the physical variables that affect the quality of the drying process are temperature, humidity, and automatic scheduling, and to support the success of the cracker drying process, these parameters really need to be known by SME cracker business owners in Banyuwangi Regency. So the need for a cheap and energy-efficient technology for the drying process of crackers, which can produce good quality crackers, so that cracker-producing SMEs can significantly increase their production without any restrictions on natural conditions.

Abstract

Desa Kalanganyar, Sidoarjo merupakan wilayah dengan potensi besar di sektorperikanan dan pengolahan hasil tambak, namun menghadapi tantangan serius dalampengelolaan limbah organik yang belum termanfaatkan secara optimal. Lebih dari65% sampah harian di TPS3R desa ini berupa limbah organik yang berisiko menimbulkanpencemaran lingkungan dan gangguan kesehatan jika tidak ditangani secaratepat. Program pemberdayaan masyarakat ini mengimplementasikan sistem budidayalarva Black Soldier Fly (BSF) sebagai solusi berbasis teknologi. Larva BSFmampu mengonversi limbah organik menjadi biomassa bernutrisi tinggi untuk pakanikan serta menghasilkan kasgot sebagai pupuk organik yang memperkuat ekonomisirkular desa. Kegiatan dilaksanakan secara partisipatif melalui tahapan survei kebutuhan,perizinan, instalasi sistem modular MagoBox Tower Lite, pelatihan teknis,hingga evaluasi produksi. Satu unit sistem menghasilkan 14,5 kg larva kering per siklus(potensi untung Rp1.015.000) untuk pakan, dengan nilai SROI 13,68, yang berartidampaknya 13 kali lipat biaya investasi. Masyarakat masih memerlukan dukunganeksternal untuk mengelola limbah dan mengintegrasikan berbagai sektor desa(perikanan, pertanian, peternakan) dalam satu ekosistem ekonomi sirkular terpadu.

Abstract

Gravitational Vortex Water Turbines (GVWTs) represent an emerging solution for low-head micro-hydropower applications, offering environmentally friendly energy conversion with minimal ecological disruption. This study investigates the effects of guide vane (GV) configurations and inclination angles on the hydrodynamic performance of GVWTs using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations. Various guide vane configurations—6, 7, and 9 vanes—were analyzed under inclination angles of 15°, 30°, and 45°, and evaluated across rotational speeds of 200, 300, and 400 RPM. The results reveal that both the number of vanes and their inclination angles significantly influence torque generation, tangential velocity distribution, recirculation patterns, and overall turbine efficiency. Higher inclination angles increase tangential velocity, enhancing torque, while excessive vane quantity induces flow blockage, increasing hydraulic losses. The optimal performance was achieved with 6 vanes GV at a 45° inclination, generating a maximum torque of 0.1305 Nm and achieving an efficiency of 60% at 400 RPM. Flow visualization confirmed improved streamline alignment and reduced recirculation for this configuration. These findings provide valuable insights into guide vane optimization for enhancing GVWT performance, supporting the development of efficient micro-hydropower systems for sustainable decentralized energy generation.
