Abstract

Abstract

Stroke is a common degenerative disease in the elderly, which causes a decrease in quality of life because the elderly become dependent on various daily activities. The fatal and permanent effects of a stroke can be prevented if the patient receives prompt and appropriate medical care within 3-5 hours, known as the "golden period." During this period, stroke disease can be overcome faster and the prognosis becomes better. One way to increase public knowledge about the early symptoms of stroke is through health education. This Community Service activity aims to provide an understanding of the FAST method as an effort to detect stroke early in the pre-hospital environment, especially in the family. The activity methods include pre-test, lectures, demonstrations, leaflets, and post-tests. This activity was attended by 24 cadres and the community of Sari Bunga Mas Village. From the results of data analysis, before the intervention was implemented, there were 12.5% of participants who had good knowledge. After the intervention, the number increased to 79.2%, while the rest had sufficient knowledge.  The results of this activity show that cadre members and the community are able to understand and demonstrate the FAST method for early detection of stroke in the family and community environment well.

Abstract

Emergency situations are sudden events that require immediate action. These conditions can arise from trauma or non-trauma incidents, with risks of respiratory arrest, cardiac arrest, organ damage, or bleeding. Emergencies can occur to anyone, at any time, and anywhere, characterized by their rapid onset and unpredictability. Quick, accurate, and careful management of emergencies is crucial to prevent death and disability, in line with the principle that "time is life." Health education is one of the strategic steps to enhance public awareness in facing emergency situations, especially through community service activities aimed at providing practical understanding of emergency management. This community service activity was conducted in Sari Bunga Mas Village and involved 26 participants, including community cadres and the general public. The methods used included a pre-test to assess participants' initial knowledge, lectures to provide information about emergencies, demonstrations to show practical emergency management procedures, distribution of leaflets as supplementary materials, and a post-test to evaluate the increase in participants' knowledge. Data from the pre-test and post-test were analyzed to measure the effectiveness of the intervention. The activity was attended by cadres and the community of Sari Bunga Mas Village, totaling 26 people. Data analysis showed the following results: before the intervention, 12% of participants had good knowledge, and after the intervention, there was an increase to 79.2% with good knowledge, with the remaining participants showing moderate knowledge. This activity successfully demonstrated that health education with an interactive approach significantly improves the community's knowledge about basic emergency management. The lecture provided a deep theoretical understanding, while the demonstration helped participants learn practical steps they can take in emergency situations. The distribution of leaflets served as a reminder and additional reference for the participants.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant transformation in various sectors, including the health sector. Digital health technology is now present as a smart solution to increase public awareness of personal and public health. Innovations such as mobile-based health applications, wearable devices, artificial intelligence (AI), and telemedicine not only provide easy access to health information, but also enable real-time monitoring of body conditions and personalization of care. This research aims to explore the various forms of digital health technologies that are currently developing and their impact on increasing awareness and healthy living behaviors among the public. Using a literature review approach of various academic sources and recent industry reports, it was found that effective utilization of digital technologies can improve health knowledge, encourage preventive measures, and accelerate early detection of chronic diseases. In addition, these technologies are also proven to be able to reach populations that were previously difficult to reach by conventional healthcare systems, such as people in remote areas or groups with limited mobility. However, challenges such as the digital divide, data security, and digital literacy are still obstacles that need to be overcome to optimize implementation. Overall, digital health technologies offer great opportunities to create a more inclusive, proactive and sustainable health ecosystem

Abstract

Background: Lecturers play a crucial role in the higher education process, supported by various other elements that contribute to the successful implementation of education within the higher education system. The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of competence and Compensation on the performance of lecturers at the Nursing Academy of the Government of Lahat Regency, South Sumatra Province Methods: The design was correlational. The population and sample were all Lecturers of the Lahat Regency Government Nursing Academy, totalling 30 people who were willing to become respondents and research samples. Research variables consist of independent and dependent variables. Independent variables consist of competency and compensation variables, while the dependent variable is Lecturer Performance. Data analysis technique using multiple linear regression analysis to test how much influence the independent variables have on the dependent variable, and the T-test Used to test the significant level of influence of the independent variables on the dependent variable. Results: The results, based on linear regression analysis, obtained a constant value of 1.804, the coefficient value of the Competency variable of 0.470, and Compensation of 0.251, partially that Competence and Compensation have a positive effect on performance. This can be seen from the resulting positive regression equation, which means that if Competence and Compensation are increased, the Lecturer's Performance will increase. The Competency variable has the most dominant influence because the regression coefficient value is the largest, namely 0.470 and followed by the Compensation variable of 0.251. Conclusion: This research has proven that competency and Compensation have a significant effect on lecturer performance, so for further research, it is recommended to examine other variables outside of this variable
