Abstract

Since Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, NTT was designated as one of the super priority destinations in 2019, there have been many creative industries that have also developed there. One of the developing creative industries is songke woven fabric. The creative industry in the craft sector is considered to have a positive influence on the employment sector, economic welfare and business. Ironically, even though it has the potential to contribute to (economic) welfare, the creativity of weaving is still loved by artisans of a certain age group (35-60 years old). Productive young people (generation Y) seem less interested in this weaving creativity. Therefore, this study aims to explore qualitatively-analystically the reasons the lack of interest of young people in the creative weaving industry. The results of this analytical research indicate that traditional production patterns, informal work patterns, and a strong patriarchal culture are the basis for Manggarai youth not to get involved in the creative weaving industry.

Abstract

Indonesian people spend an average of 3 H 18 M per day for using social media. The activitiescarried out are very diverse, such as keeping in touch with friends and family, finding sparetime, reading news stories, watching live streaming, finding products to purchase, postingabout self-activities, etc. In Fuchs' view, social media users are part of digital labour. They areexploited by social media corporations, such as Facebook, Google, and others. Exploitationoccurs by commodifying and selling data from social media activity to advertising companies.This is not realized by the users. The aims of research are the first, to explore awareness andperceptions of IKBP students about their activities in social media. Second, to deconstruct userawareness regarding their existence when surfing social media. This research uses descriptivequalitative methods. The data in this research is accumulated through observation and FGD.This research took a sample of students from the The Christian Institute of Technology andBusiness of Bukit Pengharapan Tawangmangu, Karanganyar, Central Java. The resultsof this research indicate that users perceive that surfing in social media is part of playing,recreational activities and only to fill spare time. Meanwhile, if examined from Fuchs' theoryof information capitalism, social media users are digital labour that be exploited by digitalcorporations. This research is important so that users can use social media constructively, suchas accumulating capital and developing creativity. Don't waste time.

Abstract

This research aims to design infographic and mascot as social campaign media to increase public awareness of the environment in the Grojogan Sewu tourist area, Tawangmangu. This design departs from the reality of waste distribution around the main destination area of ​​Grojogan Sewu. This shows that the level of public concern for protecting the area from the spread of waste is still low. Designing mascot and infographic are seen as a solution to increase awareness of local communities and tourists. This design research uses the design thinking method. Data collection was carried out through observation. This design research resulted in an infographic and mascot "Si Dul" which represents the message of caring for the environment in terms of waste sorting.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi telah memberikan peluang baru dalam dunia pendidikan, khususnya dalam mengajarkan anak-anak mengenal huruf-huruf abjad. Game edukasi menjadi salah satu metode yang menarik dan efektif untuk membantu anak-anak preschool dalam mengembangkan kemampuan membaca dan menulis sejak dini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang sebuah game edukasi yang berfokus pada mengenalkan huruf-huruf abjad kepada anak-anak preschool. Game dirancang menggunakan metode waterfall dengan urutan fase yang berurutan. Game ini akan menyajikan pengalaman yang interaktif dan mendidik, memanfaatkan elemen-elemen permainan untuk membuat pembelajaran lebih menarik. Dalam perancangan game ini, akan mengintegrasikan elemen-elemen pembelajaran, seperti pengenalan huruf, pengucapan, dan asosiasi gambar, dengan tantangan permainan yang menyenangkan. Tujuan dari permainan ini adalah untuk membantu anak-anak mengembangkan pemahaman awal tentang abjad sambil menjaga minat mereka terhadap proses belajar. Melalui permainan ini, berharap dapat meningkatkan literasi anak-anak secara menyenangkan dan efektif. Selain itu, game ini juga akan dirancang untuk dapat diakses melalui platform perangkat mobile, sehingga dapat digunakan di lingkungan pendidikan. Dengan demikian, game edukasi "Mengenal Alphabet" diharapkan dapat menjadi alat pembelajaran yang berguna dan menyenangkan bagi anak-anak preschool, serta membantu guru dan orang tua dalam proses mengenalkan anak-anak pada dunia huruf-huruf abjad.

Abstract

The aim of this community service activity is to provide knowledge and motivation for tourist village communities and local stakeholders to enter the world of the tourism industry. This is important to do so that the tourism potential in rural areas truly brings blessings to the local community, not to corporations. The way rural communities "take" advantage of today's tourism developments is through developing the creative economy. The methods in this activity are Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and counseling. This activity was enthusiastically attended by the Karangtaruna group. They are also committed to collaboration with several creative groups that already exist in Pancot Hamlet, such as the Gita Laras group and the Reog group, to continue to consistently develop the creative industry.

Abstract

Lyric videos play an important role in the music industry, combining visual, audio and text elements to convey the message of a song. This research aims to animate the lyric video for the song "Sayu" by improving visual quality and motion graphic elements. The goal is to strengthen the audience's understanding of the meaning of the lyrics and amaze the audience with a more immersive visual experience. The creation of this work uses qualitative descriptive approach to interpretation and visualization of text. This research is motivated by awareness of the issue of preserving wild animals, especially orangutans, which are threatened with extinction. The song "Sayu" contains a strong social message about preserving wild animals, and through animated lyric videos, this research seeks to increase public understanding of this issue. In developing content, this research uses the MDLC (Multimedia Development Life Cycle) technique, creative typography, 2D animation elements, and motion graphics to create lyric videos that are more visually attractive. The expected final result is a lyric video that is effective in conveying the lyric's message and supporting public awareness about the conservation of wild animals.

Abstract

Pengembangan desa wisata beberapa tahun terakhir di tanah air begitu marak. Salah satu wilayah yang sedang menggenjot pengembangan desa wisata adalah Labuan Bajo. Dari beberapa desa yang ada di sana, Desa Wisata Wae Lolos menjadi sorotan, sebab sejak ditentukan sebagai desa wisata pada tahun 2021, perkembangan wisata desanya begitu cepat. Pada tahun 2024 Desa Wisata Wae Lolos sudah masuk dalam kategori Desa Wisata Maju. Lantas, Bagaimana strategi pemasaran destinasi desa wisata di Desa Wae Lolos? Penelitian ini berkontribusi untuk menjadi salah satu referensi, baik dalam penelitian lanjutan maupun dalam praktik pengembangan destinasi wisata desa di tengah gencarnya fokus pembangunan desa wisata. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah pendekatan kualitatif. Data dikumpul melalui wawancara, observasi langsung baik di Desa Wisata Lolos, maupun di media sosial wisata wae lolos dan akun penggerak wisata Wae Lolos yang konsisten memposting aktivitas wisata di Desa Wisata Wae Lolos. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan, penggerak pariwisata Desa Wae Lolos berhasil mengembangkan inovasi destinasi serta strategi komunikasi pemasaran destinasi.

Abstract

This article examines Michael Sandel’s critique of meritocracy and its relevance to the Indonesian context, particularly in relation to educational inequality and the rise of populism. While meritocracy is often celebrated as a system of fairness and equal opportunity, this study demonstrates that it exacerbates structural disparities, reinforces stigma against disadvantaged groups, and fuels resentment that populist leaders can mobilize. Drawing on Sandel’s The Tyranny of Merit and related literature, this article employs a qualitative approach with critical theory to analyze how meritocratic ideology deepens social divisions by overlooking structural constraints on achievement. The findings reveal that Indonesia’s reliance on merit-based educational policies disadvantages rural and marginalized communities, while the resulting frustrations contribute to populist narratives that oppose political and educational elites. As an alternative, Sandel’s principle of the common good provides a normative framework for reform, emphasizing solidarity, collective responsibility, and shared welfare. By applying these principles to Indonesian social and educational policies, this article highlights a pathway toward reducing inequality, mitigating populist discontent, and strengthening democratic cohesion. Abstrak Artikel ini mengkaji kritik Michael Sandel terhadap meritokrasi dan relevansinya dalam konteks Indonesia, khususnya terkait ketimpangan pendidikan dan bangkitnya populisme. Meskipun meritokrasi sering dipandang sebagai sistem yang adil karena memberikan kesempatan yang setara, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa meritokrasi justru memperburuk ketimpangan struktural, memperkuat stigma terhadap kelompok marjinal, serta memicu rasa frustrasi yang kemudian dimanfaatkan oleh para pemimpin populis. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif berbasis teori kritis, artikel ini menganalisis karya Sandel The Tyranny of Merit beserta literatur terkait untuk menyoroti bagaimana ideologi meritokrasi memperdalam fragmentasi sosial dengan mengabaikan keterbatasan struktural dalam pencapaian individu. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketergantungan Indonesia pada kebijakan pendidikan berbasis merit cenderung merugikan komunitas pedesaan dan kelompok tertinggal, sementara kekecewaan yang muncul memperkuat narasi populis yang menentang elit politik dan pendidikan. Sebagai alternatif, prinsip kebaikan bersama yang ditawarkan Sandel memberikan kerangka normatif untuk reformasi, dengan menekankan solidaritas, tanggung jawab kolektif, dan kesejahteraan umum. Dengan menerapkan prinsip ini dalam kebijakan sosial dan pendidikan di Indonesia, artikel ini menyoroti jalan menuju pengurangan ketimpangan, meredam ketidakpuasan populis, serta memperkuat kohesi demokratis.
