Abstract

Implementing laws and regulations in reducing traffic accidents is a crucial step in improving road safety. Traffic accidents have a serious impact on society and the country's economy. Implementation of laws and regulations includes safety standards, rule enforcement, deterrent and deterrent effects, public education, and regular evaluation. This helps create a safer traffic environment and reduces the potential for accidents. However, implementing laws and regulations is only one part of a comprehensive traffic safety solution. Support from other efforts such as improving road infrastructure and quality driving education is needed. The importance of implementing laws and regulations is also in reducing the social, economic and environmental impacts of traffic accidents. Therefore, continuous efforts to improve the effectiveness of laws and regulations and public awareness of the importance of road safety are essential to create a safer and better traffic environment for everyone. Suggestions involve strengthening law enforcement, traffic safety education, regulatory evaluation, stakeholder cooperation, and improving safe road infrastructure. Further research is also needed to develop more effective strategies for improving traffic safety. By implementing these suggestions, it is hoped that traffic accidents can be minimized, and people can feel safer when carrying out activities on the road.

Abstract

Farming on peatland is a complex task due to the low soil fertility and acidic soil pH. Careful and sustainable management is crucial for peatland agriculture. To address soil acidity in peatland, natural phosphate fertilizers or lime compounds like agricultural lime or dolomite can be used. These help neutralize H+ and Al3+ ions in the soil. Eggshells have the potential as an alternative to lime (dolomite) to raise pH. Eggshells also contain about 0.3% phosphorus and microelements (magnesium, sodium, potassium, zinc, manganese, and copper) at 0.3%. The activity took place at the Teluk Latak Village Office Hall, Bengkalis Subdistrict, Bengkalis Regency, on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. The materials used in making eggshell lime fertilizer are eggshells and soil. The tools used in this practice include a blender, a spoon, and polybags. The women of the Teluk Latak Village PKK (Family Welfare Movement) responded positively to the socialization of the use of unproductive land and peat soil as a planting medium. They showed enthusiasm and actively participated in sustainable agriculture training. In conclusion, eggshells are an alternative choice as a readily available natural phosphate fertilizer from household waste. Sustainable management is essential for the success of peatland cultivation, along with the establishment of an eggshell waste bank to convert eggshells into natural phosphorus fertilizer that can help neutralize H+ and Al3+ ions in the soil.

One strategy that can be carried out by KUKERTA UNRI 2023 students to improve public health in Teluk Latak Village is to hold community service activities in Teluk Latak Village. One of the health problems that commonly occurs in villages is stunting. Stunting is a description of chronic malnutrition during the growth and development of children starting from the beginning of their lives. Stunting can be caused by many factors, some of which are the characteristics of the toddler itself and socio-economic conditions. The KUKERTA UNRI 2023 Student Team contributed to monthly posyandu activities as an effort to prevent stunting which were held at three posyandu in Teluk Latak Village. This activity includes measuring the child's height, weight, measuring several other parts of the child's body and exploring the child's level of development. The activity of providing PMT (Providing Additional Food) and distributing brochures on the importance of posyandu to the people of Teluk Latak Village was also carried out to increase community literacy about the importance of posyandu every month. This article emphasizes the importance of a participatory and collaborative approach in preventing stunting in Teluk Latak Village, as well as how KUKERTA UNRI 2023 students can make changes that will ultimately improve the welfare of children in Teluk Latak Village. Abstract

The transformation of the Negara Hukum into a welfare state positions social assistance policies as a strategic instrument for fulfilling citizens’ rights. However, in practice, the implementation of social assistance in Indonesia faces significant challenges, including mistargeting, weak accountability, and regulatory disharmony. This study aims to analyze the conformity of social assistance policies with the principles of the rule of law and to reconstruct an ideal policy model. The research employs a normative juridical approach through the analysis of legal frameworks, particularly the Undang-Undang Dasar 1945, as well as relevant legal doctrines and literature. The findings indicate that although social assistance policies possess strong constitutional legitimacy, their implementation reveals a gap between normative expectations and practical realities. Therefore, policy reconstruction is required through a rights-based approach, integrated data system reform, regulatory harmonization, and strengthened multi-level oversight. In conclusion, social assistance must be treated as a constitutional right managed with transparency and accountability. This study recommends strengthening regulatory frameworks, digitalizing data systems, and enhancing public participation as strategic measures for policy improvement.
