Abstract

This study examines the influence of motivation and perception on the interest of Sharia Insurance department students at UIN Antasari Banjarmasin in obtaining Sharia insurance agent certification. A multidimensional approach integrating cultural dynamics and social realities is adopted to understand the complexity of this phenomenon. Quantitative methods with regression analysis are used to analyze data from 120 respondents. The research findings indicate that motivation and perception have a significant influence both individually and simultaneously on students' interest in pursuing Sharia insurance agent certification. Cultural dynamics, such as Islamic values and local traditions, influence students' motivation and perception towards Sharia insurance agent certification. Social realities, such as economic conditions and job opportunities, affect students' interest in undergoing certification processes. This study emphasizes the importance of building positive motivation and perception among Sharia Insurance students to enhance their interest in obtaining Sharia insurance agent certification. These efforts need to consider the cultural dynamics and social realities faced by students.

Abstract

IntroductionThe Sharia consumer cooperative is one of the many legal forms of Islamic economic activity in Indonesia, including South Kalimantan Province. However, studies on the identity and rationality of this practice are still limited.ObjectivesThis research aims to understand how Islamic identity influences economic decisions and how Sharia economic rationality is reflected in the practices of consumer cooperatives. The selection of Arrahmah Sharia Consumer Cooperative (Koperasi Konsumen Syariah Arrahmah) as the subject of the study is based on the institution's claim to be "more Sharia" compared to other cooperatives or Sharia financial institutions.MethodA qualitative research method was employed using in-depth interviews and observations as data collection tools. Qualitative research was chosen for its relevance to case studies that required in-depth data exploration.ResultsThe findings indicate that Islamic identity plays a key role in shaping the economic preferences of cooperative members, whereas Sharia economic rationality is reflected in the principles of justice and sustainability. In the context of Arrahmah Sharia Consumer Cooperative, the institution's assertion of being "more Sharia" is driven by knowledge of fiqh muamalah, particularly the section on usury and its dangers conveyed by Salafi scholars in study forums, websites, and other mass media. This knowledge serves as the main foundation and source of community identity, which distinguishes them from other cooperatives or financial institutions.ImplicationsThe success of Sharia economics lies not only in economic rationality, but also in the understanding and application of religious identity in every aspect of economic activities. Both are complementary and mutually supportive in achieving sustainable economic development goals, in line with religious values.Originality/NoveltyThis study provides insights into the dynamics of identity and rationality in the context of Sharia economics, focusing on the practices of consumer cooperatives in South Kalimantan.

Abstract

The research titled "Pamali and Multiculturalism: Islamic Thought in Preserving the Rights of Cultural Customs in Banjar Society" focuses on the role of the Pamali tradition in maintaining cultural diversity and local identity within the Banjar society of South Kalimantan, all within the framework of Islamic thought. The study aims to explore how Pamali can serve as a tool for preserving minority rights and promoting multiculturalism in an Islamic context. Additionally, it seeks to analyze the relevance and effectiveness of the Pamali tradition in addressing the challenges posed by modernization. This research employs a qualitative approach, specifically a case study of the Banjar community. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with community leaders, and analysis of literature related to Pamali and multiculturalism in Islam. The findings reveal that Pamali plays a significant role in preserving local culture and supporting the integration of Islamic values with local traditions. The study confirms that Pamali not only helps maintain the cultural identity of the Banjar people but also promotes inclusive multiculturalism within an Islamic framework. However, the effectiveness of Pamali in preserving multiculturalism faces challenges from the pressures of modernization, which require more structured adaptation and institutional support. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the role of local traditions in Islamic multiculturalism and offers insights for developing cultural preservation policies in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examines the phenomenon of child labor in South Kalimantan, focusing on the underlying economic and social factors that drive children into the workforce. The research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing interviews and field observations in Banjarmasin and Martapura. Findings indicate that child labor is primarily driven by economic hardship, with children engaging in various jobs such as street vending, entertainment, and market labor to support their families. Despite legal protections, many children face difficulties in accessing education due to their work commitments. The study highlights the urgent need for government intervention, emphasizing policies that balance economic support for families while ensuring children's right to education. The implications of this research suggest a more comprehensive social protection strategy and increased public awareness to address child labor effectively.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of transformational leadership, motivation, and discipline on teacher performance at SMA Muhammadiyah Martapura, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan Province. The research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method, with the entire population of 32 teachers selected as respondents through total sampling. Data were collected through literature review, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that simultaneously, the three independent variables transformational leadership (X1), motivation (X2), and discipline (X3) have a significant effect on teacher performance (Y), with an F-value of 628.218 > F-table value of 3.63 and a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. Partially, each variable also has a significant positive effect, as shown by t-values greater than the t-table and significance values below 0.05. Transformational leadership is found to be the dominant variable influencing teacher performance, with the highest regression coefficient of 0.895. The coefficient of determination (R²) is 0.993, indicating that 99.3% of the variance in teacher performance can be explained by the three independent variables.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of service quality dimensions, namely tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy, on the member satisfaction of the Islamic Multipurpose Cooperative (KSU) Syariah Surya Sekawan in Martapura, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan Province. The research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 cooperative members selected by purposive sampling. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results show that partially, the variables tangible (X1) and empathy (X5) have a significant effect on member satisfaction. Meanwhile, the variables reliability (X2), responsiveness (X3), and assurance (X4) do not have a significant partial effect. However, simultaneously, all five independent variables have a significant influence on member satisfaction, as indicated by the F-test result, where F count is 211.168 > F table 2.81, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The R Square value of 0.681 indicates that 68.1% of the variation in member satisfaction can be explained by the five service quality dimensions studied. These findings highlight the importance of holistic service quality management within Islamic cooperatives to enhance member satisfaction. Therefore, cooperative management is expected to improve physical service aspects and strengthen empathy-based approaches in service interactions.
