Abstract

This study aims to explore the perspectives on the reliability of Gemini in Arabic language studies, supported by a comprehensive literature review for each segment. Adopting a qualitative phenomenological approach, the research focuses on examining the experiences and perceptions of academics regarding the use of the Gemini chatbot. The research population includes 120 students studying Quranic Sciences and Exegesis at STAI Al-Anwar Rembang, purposefully selected for their collective proficiency in the Arabic language. Additionally, 11 Arabic language teachers in Rembang are actively involved in developing a structured teaching framework enriched by Gemini. The result highlights the importance of collaboration among linguists, educators, and tech developers in leveraging Gemini, an AI tool, for effective Arabic language education, while addressing accuracy and privacy concerns. The researcher anticipates that this study will provide insights into integrating AI tools like Gemini into Indonesian curricula, enhancing Arabic language learning. It seeks to contribute to the discourse on technology-enhanced language education and its practical implications.

Abstract

Abstract

It was rather surprising that Windows users readily embraced Copilot, even trusting it with translation projects. Surely, not many users would trust its accuracy in providing cross-language explanations for prompts solely based on the developer's claims. Building on that, this research aimed to test it in a manner distinct from other assessments. Researchers evaluated how accurately Copilot interpreted and understood the advanced Arabic prose from the intricate works of Alfiyah ibn Malik and Nadham Al-Imrithy. The aim was to understand Copilot’s strengths and weaknesses in terms of literal accuracy, terminological-analogical mastery, and contextual depth. Using a mixed-method approach under the Collect-Measure-Repeat (CMR) framework of Responsible AI, the researchers conducted qualitative performance assessments with three experts and quantitative evaluations using METEOR (Metric for Evaluation of Translation with Explicit Ordering). The results showed that although Copilot had no issues comprehending and translating simple Arabic commands, especially word-for-word, it struggled with contextual understanding for many of the complex texts and displayed numerous inconsistencies when the instructions were vague. Copilot's performance issues in context saturation were evident during iterative phases. This led to the conclusion that, while Copilot is competent enough to attempt the challenging task of interpreting complex linguistic structures, it still needs human assistance and cross-references.

Abstract

This study examines the socio-economic disparity between two groups of coastal fishermen in Sarang, Rembang—those operating freezer-equipped vessels and those using traditional ice-block methods. The research highlights how access to technology and unequal enforcement of local regulations create structural gaps in income, market access, and fiscal contribution. While freezer-equipped fishermen often bypass official auction markets (TPI) and avoid retribution fees, small-scale fishermen are burdened by formal charges, delayed payments, and limited distribution channels. Using a mixed-method approach grounded in distributive justice theory (Rawls) and institutional economics (North), this study combines statistical analysis and field interviews to uncover how unequal access to subsidies and market mechanisms impacts collective welfare. The findings reveal that higher fiscal burdens fall disproportionately on those with fewer resources, weakening trust in cooperatives and local fishery institutions. The study offers critical insight into how structural inequities in marine resource governance can fragment social cohesion and undermine sustainability in traditional fishing communities.
