Abstract

PhET Simulation is a virtual lab that can be used as a learning medium for science material. Apart from that, PhET Simulation can also be used as an alternative medium for practical activities. This service activity aims to introduce PhET Simulation as a virtual laboratory to students in class 06 Diponegoro Middle School and help students understand equilibrium material in physics lessons. This service activity was held on Tuesday, October 3 2023 at SMP 06 Diponegoro, which was attended by 30 students from class VIII. The introduction of PhET Simulation activities took place in the science laboratory room at SMP 06 Diponegoro. This service method begins with an explanation of PhET Simulation and the use of PhET Simulation in equilibrium material, questions and answers regarding PhET Simulation, and ends with students practicing using PhET Simulation. It is hoped that this service activity can help students understand equilibrium physics material in class VIII SMP 06 Diponegoro in 2023.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the probability and uncertainty of electron linear momentum in with the Heisenberg uncertainty approach. Measurement of the position and momentum of atomic electrons is probabilistic. The probability and uncertainty of electron linear momentum are analysed analytically, and simulations of hydrogenic atoms' normalized radial wave function are performed.  they can be viewed as hydrogenic atoms with only one electron orbital. The probability and uncertainty of electron linear momentum in decrease with increasing values of the principal quantum number n ≤ 3. While the uncertainty of the electron position is increasing.  The results of this study are in accordance with the characteristics of position and linear momentum that are not commutable. The increase in the value of the main quantum number means that the electron's position against this is getting farther, and the speed in the orbital is getting smaller.

Abstract

Abstract

Mathematical thinking skills are high-level thinking competencies needed in the 21st century. Many physics problems are expressed in various forms of mathematical equations that require mathematical thinking skills. The low level of mathematical thinking has an impact on physics learning outcomes. Cramer’s rule is more attractive to students when solving the Linear Equation System (LES) than the substitution method or other methods. So this study aims to examine the effectiveness of Cramer’s rule on the system of linear equations of 2-loop electrical circuits as an alternative solution to problem solving. The research was conducted in the odd semester of 2024/2025 with research subjects as many as 44 students and 30 high school students in Jember using Pre-Experimental Design and One Group Pretest-Posttest form. The results showed the improvement of college students’ mathematical thinking skills in the high category for indicators of specializing (72.7%), generalizing (95.5%), and conjecturing (86.4%) while the convincing indicator was in the medium category (65.9%). The improvement of college student learning outcomes (79%) and high school students (81%) in the high category with a very positive response or 82.14%. So Cramer’s rule is effective in improving mathematical thinking skills and learning outcomes.
