Abstract

This study aims to analyze the barriers to pre-literacy skills in early childhood and the strategies used by teachers to overcome these challenges. The study is based on the importance of pre-literacy as the foundation of reading and writing skills, which determines children’s readiness for the next stage of learning. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, involving observation, interviews, and document analysis with 13 research subjects, consisting of teachers and children aged 5–6 years at TK Cor Jesu Marsudirini. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive analysis technique, which includes three main stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. Through this process, data from observations, interviews, and documentation were systematically processed to identify patterns of barriers and the strategies teachers used to enhance children’s pre-literacy skills. The findings indicate that several problems in children’s pre-literacy include limited vocabulary, lack of family support and encouragement, and inadequate educational media. By implementing play-based learning, using more engaging visual and audio media, and involving parents actively in home-based stimulation, teachers strive to address these issues. Therefore, improving children’s pre-literacy skills requires collaboration among teachers, families, and schools through creative, engaging, and contextual learning strategies.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji proses internalisasi nilai-nilai pendidikan multikultural pada anak usia dini melalui pembelajaran tematik di RA Az-Zakiyatu Shalehah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif, dengan pendekatan deskriptif Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan analisis dokumen. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari pendidik, orang tua, dan siswa di RA Az-Zakiyatu Shalehah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran tematik di RA Az-Zakiyatu Shalehah secara efektif mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai pendidikan multikultural ke dalam kegiatan pembelajaran sehari-hari. Pendidik menggunakan berbagai metode dan media pembelajaran yang interaktif, sehingga anak-anak dapat mengenal dan menghargai keberagaman budaya sejak dini. Selain itu, dukungan dan partisipasi aktif sekolah dengan orang tua juga berperan penting dalam memperkuat pemahaman dan penerimaan anak terhadap nilai-nilai multikultural. Kesimpulannya, internalisasi nilai-nilai pendidikan multikultural melalui pembelajaran tematik di RA Az-Zakiyatu Shalebah memberikan dampak positif terhadap perkembangan sikap toleransi dan menghargai perbedaan pada anak usia dini. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi bagi pendidik dan institusi pendidikan dalam merancang dan menerapkan program pembelajaran yang mendukung pengembangan nilai-nilai multikultural pada anak-anak.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of parental nutrition literacy on the physical-motor development of children at TK Al-Falah. Using a case study approach, data were collected through questionnaires and observations, and analyzed thematically. The findings suggest that parents with a strong understanding of nutrition are more likely to provide balanced, nutritious meals, which positively influence their children's physical-motor development. Children of parents with high nutrition literacy exhibit greater physical activity, improved balance, and enhanced fine and gross motor coordination. In contrast, children of parents with limited nutrition knowledge tend to have less balanced diets, potentially hindering their physical development. These results underscore the importance of nutrition education for parents to ensure children receive adequate nourishment for optimal physical-motor growth. It is recommended that schools and relevant organizations strengthen nutrition education initiatives to support children's overall development.
