Abstract

Bukit Baka Bukit Raya National Park is a conservation area that is rich in biodiversity, including ornamental plant flora. The potential of this flora has not been fully exploited as a natural tourist attraction in the region, especially on the Guhung Elang Resort Belaban Waterfall patrol route Belaban Region-1. Ornamental plants are one of the potential objects to attract the attention of tourists because of their visual beauty and ecological value which helps strengthen environmental sustainability. This research aims to explore the potential of ornamental plant flora as a natural tourist attraction on the Guhung Elang Resort Belaban Waterfall Patrol Route Region-1 Bukit Baka Bukit Raya National Park. The research used a survey method to explore the diversity of ornamental plant flora around the tourist area. The starting point of the route is at the Belaban resort office information center. There are 2 observation routes, namely route 1 (Guhung Elang patrol route Km 37) and route 2 (Semunga waterfall route Km 35). Research parameters are plant type, coordinate points, distance and travel time. The results of the research found that there were potential ornamental plants in 20 families on both routes, with a total of 94 individuals. In route 1 there were 44 individuals, while in route 2 there were 50 individuals. The most common types of ornamental plants are orchids, senthe/ keladi, and nampu/murau. The discovery of the potential for ornamental plant flora provides an opportunity for the development of natural tourism in the area by working on the visual beauty and ecological value of ornamental plants, which can attract tourists to visit this location. Potensi flora ini belum dimanfaatkan sepenuhnya sebagai objek daya tarik wisata alam di wilayah tersebut, terutama di jalur patroli Air Terjun Guhung Elang Resort Belaban Wilayah-1. Tanaman hias menjadi salah satu objek yang potensial untuk menarik perhatian wisatawan karena keindahan visualnya serta nilai ekologis yang membantu memperkuat keberlangsungan lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi potensi flora tanaman hias sebagai objek daya tarik wisata alam di Jalur Patroli Air Terjun Guhung Elang Resort Belaban Wilayah-1 Taman Nasional Bukit Baka Bukit Raya. Penelitian menggunakan metode survei untuk mengeksplorasi keanekaragaman flora tanaman hias yang ada di sekitar area wisata. Titik awal jalur di pusat informasi kantor resort Belaban. Terdapat 2 jalur pengamatan, yaitu jalur 1 (jalur patroli Guhung Elang Km 37) dan jalur 2 (jalur air terjun Semunga Km 35). Parameter penelitian adalah jenis tanaman, titik koordinat, jarak tempuh, dan waktu tempuh. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa terdapat potensi tanaman hias sebanyak 20 famili pada kedua jalur, dengan total individu sebanyak 94. Pada jalur 1 terdapat 44 individu, sementara di jalur 2 terdapat 50 individu. Jenis tanaman hias yang paling umum adalah anggrek, senthe/keladi, dan nampu/murau. Temuan potensi flora tanaman hias ini memberikan peluang untuk pengembangan wisata alam di area tersebut dengan menggarap keindahan visual dan nilai ekologis tanaman hias, dapat menarik minat wisatawan untuk mengunjungi lokasi tersebut.Kata kunci: Flora, Potensi, Tanaman Hias, Guhung Elang

Abstract

The oil palm trunk and fast-growing species was the potential as raw materials for blockboard. The quality of composite board can be reflected by the value of physical and mechanical properties that influenced by the characteristics of veneer, board core and type of adhesive and the method of manufacturing. The aim of this research was to produce block boards from oil palm trunk waste and sengon (Paraserianthes falcataria (L.) Nielsen), manii (Maesopsis eminii Engl.), mangium (Acacia mangium Willd.) veneers as surface layers. The size of the blockboards was 35 x 35 x 2.4 cm3. The adhesives used were phenol formaldehyde (PF) and urea formaldehyde (UF) with glue spread of 200 g·m-2. The blockboards were made with a pressure of 15 kg·cm-2 for 10 minutes at 130 oC for PF and 110 oC for UF. The physical and mechanical properties of the boards were tested based on SNI 01-7201, JAS 232 2003 and JIS A 5908-2003 standard. The research results show that the wood veneer species and adhesive types can improved the physical properties and hardness of block board with oil palm trunk core. Moisture content value of the boards had less than 10% and the thickness sweeling had less than 12%. Thickness swelling and delamination were influenced by adhesive types. Block board with PF adhesive have a lower delamination value than bloc board with UF adhesive so it can be used for exterior purposes. The hardness value blockboard fulfil BS standard and recommended for flooring applications.Keywords: adhesives types, blockboard, fast-growing species, oil palm trunk, physical properties and hardnessAbstrakLimbah batang kelapa sawit dan jenis kayu cepat tumbuh mempunyai potensi sebagai bahan baku papan blok. Kualitas papan komposit dapat terlihat dari sifat fisis dan mekanis yang dipengaruhi oleh karakteristik finir, bagian inti papan, jenis perekat, dan metode pembuatannya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan sifat fisis dan kekerasan papan blok dari limbah batang kelapa sawit dan sengon, manii, dan mangium finir sebagai lapisan permukaan. Papan blok berukuran 35 x 35 x 2,4 cm3. Perekat yang digunakan adalah fenol formaldehida (PF) dan urea formaldehida (UF) dengan berat labur sebesar 200 g·m-2. Papan blok dibuar dengan tekanan 15 kg·cm-2 selama 10 minutes pada suhu 130 oC untuk perekat PF and 110 oC untuk perekat UF. Sifat fisis dan kekerasan diuji berdasarkan standar SNI 01-7201, JAS 232 2003, dan JIS A 5908-2003. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis kayu dan jenis perekat dapat membantu meningkatkan sifat fisis dan kekerasan papan blok dengan inti batang kelapa sawit. Nilai kadar air papan blok dibawah 10% dan pengembangan tebal dibawah 12%. Papan blok dengan perekat PF mempunyai nilai delaminasi lebih kecil dibandingkan papan blok dengan perekat UF dan dapat digunakan sebagai keperluan eksterior. Abstract

Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) leaves contain tannins that have potential as natural dyes, but the optimization of tannin extraction conditions from these leaves still needs to be studied. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in extraction time and ethanol solvent ratio on the tannin content obtained from Kratom leaves. The soxhletation extraction method was used with a variation of extraction time of 3, 4, and 5 hours, and ethanol solvent ratio of 1:0, 1:1, and 0:1. The results showed that optimal conditions were achieved at an extraction time of 4 hours with a solvent ratio of 1:1, resulting in the highest extract yield and significant tannin content. Analysis of tannin content was carried out by Folin-Ciocalteu spectrophotometric method. The findings suggest that the right combination of time and solvent ratio can increase the extraction efficiency of tannins from Kratom leaves, thus supporting its potential use as an environmentally friendly natural colorant in various industries.Keywords: Extraction time, Kratom leaves, Solvent ratio, TanninsAbstrakDaun Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) memiliki kandungan tanin yang potensial sebagai pewarna alami, namun optimalisasi kondisi ekstraksi tanin dari daun ini masih perlu diteliti. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan pengaruh variasi waktu ekstraksi dan rasio pelarut etanol terhadap kandungan tanin yang diperoleh dari daun Kratom. Metode ekstraksi soxhletasi digunakan dengan variasi waktu ekstraksi 3, 4, dan 5 jam, serta rasio pelarut etanol 1:0, 1:1, dan 0:1. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kondisi optimal dicapai pada waktu ekstraksi 4 jam dengan rasio pelarut 1:1, menghasilkan rendemen ekstrak tertinggi dan kandungan tanin yang signifikan. Analisis kandungan tanin dilakukan dengan metode spektrofotometri Folin-Ciocalteu. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi waktu dan rasio pelarut yang tepat dapat meningkatkan efisiensi ekstraksi tanin dari daun Kratom, sehingga mendukung potensi penggunaannya sebagai pewarna alami yang ramah lingkungan di berbagai industri.Kata kunci: Waktu ekstraksi, Daun kratom, Rasio pelarut, Tanin

Abstract

Belaban Ella Village is one of the villages that meets daily needs by utilizing forest resources. Burning land clearance is the cheapest and most convenient way to meet basic demands. Forest fires may be started by the clearing of land, particularly in the dry season. The aim of this community service activity is to educate, particularly the student at SMPN 6 Belaban Ella Village, about the risks, prevent, and control the forest fires. The activities were carried out face to face at the village hall, Belaban Ella Village, Menukung District, Melawi Regency. The interactive lecture method was used to deliver knowledge to 31 participants. In the course of the activity, a questionnaire is used for monitoring and evaluation. The results of the questionnaire showed that participants' understanding increased by 94% after delivering knowledge related to forest fire prevention and control. The participants were excited to participate in the exercise because of the interactive way in which the content was delivered. By learning about the prevention and control of forest fires, students may develop a greater awareness of environmental issues and help to reduce the number of forest fires.

Abstract

The kepuak bark clothing has been used by people in Kalimantan, especially the Dayak tribe. Kepuak bark clothing is one of the cultures of the community, including the people of Belaban Ella village. Kepuak bark clothing is only used on certain occasions because of its stiff and rough texture. The purpose of this service activity is to convey information regarding the benefits of whiting as a softening agent for kepuak bark in Belaban Ella Village, Menukung District, Melawi Regency. The service activity was attended by 31 participants. Monitoring and evaluation of activities in the form of questionnaires was carried out before and after the activity. The questionnaire results showed that the understanding community increased after deliver of the knowledge. The insight of community was enhanced by utilizing whiting to soften the kepuak bark for clothing. The use of kepuak can maintain community culture. Kepuak bark-whiting soaked has potential to be used as clothing that can be ysed daily because has softer texture, can improve the economy, and encourage the community to protect the forest by planting more kepuak trees.
