Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of loyalty in Sharia-compliant consumption patterns and sharia financial literacy on the life satisfaction of urban Muslim households in the Greater Bandung area. A quantitative approach was employed, using a survey method through online questionnaires distributed to 160 Muslim households with experience or knowledge related to Sharia-based consumption and finance. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), which is suitable for complex structural models with moderate sample sizes and non-normally distributed data. The results indicate that both loyalty in Sharia-compliant consumption and sharia financial literacy have a positive and significant effect on the life satisfaction of urban households. These findings highlight the critical role of religious values and Sharia-based financial management capabilities as determinants of subjective well-being among urban Muslim families.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of Islamic legal principles into Indonesia’s natural resource governance, with a particular focus on sustainability and social justice. The research is motivated by the exploitative and anthropocentric orientation of current policies, which neglect intergenerational equity and ecological justice. To address this gap, the study employs a normative-juridical method with a critical approach, analyzing law as a system of norms rather than merely as social practice. Sources include statutory laws such as the Minerba Law and Job Creation Law, relevant fatwas issued by the Indonesian Council of Ulama, as well as Qur’anic and Hadith texts interpreted through the framework of maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah. Case studies of deforestation in Kalimantan and mining conflicts in West Nusa Tenggara are presented to contextualize the neglect of Islamic values in environmental management. The findings reveal four structural problems: legal dualism between state law and Islamic ethics, weak institutionalization of sharia principles, sectoral fragmentation in governance, and centralization of authority that marginalizes indigenous communities. These issues contribute to the persistent neglect of maslahah, ‘adl, and environmental justice in public policy. The study proposes a maqāṣid-based reconstruction of legal norms through ijtihād maqāṣidī and taḥqīq al-manāṭ as methodological tools to realign governance with ethical and ecological imperatives. Recommendations include revising extractive laws, integrating environmental fatwas into statutory frameworks, strengthening participatory governance, and establishing a Maqāṣid Commission for ecological oversight. In conclusion, the research demonstrates that reconstructing Islamic law through maqāṣid not only fills the ethical gap in Indonesia’s regulatory system but also offers a transformative model for just, participatory, and sustainable environmental governance.

Abstract

This study discusses the role of Islamic financing in empowering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia, which play an important role in the national economy through job creation and reducing economic inequality. This research aims to explore the impact of sharia-based financing offered by Islamic Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) and Islamic banks in supporting MSMEs, particularly through financing products such as murabahah, musyarakah, and mudharabah. Using a qualitative approach and secondary data analysis, this study collected data from journals, books, and statistical sources to identify key themes in MSME empowerment through Islamic finance. The results show that Islamic finance supports the growth of MSMEs by providing fairer and more sustainable access to funding, as well as through mentoring programmes that improve the managerial capabilities of MSMEs. Despite challenges such as low Islamic financial literacy, this study concludes that Islamic financing has great potential in strengthening the contribution of MSMEs to the national economy.
