Abstract

This research aims to explore the ideal concept of social integration patterns based on the Quran through a thematic study of verses related to social integration. In the modern context, social integration often faces challenges such as social inequality, intergroup conflicts, and lack of tolerance. The structural functionalism theory pioneered by Talcott Parsons provides a theoretical basis regarding the importance of balance in society to achieve social order. However, the concept of social integration in Islam emphasizes principles of justice, unity, and tolerance as outlined in the Quranic verses. Verses such as those in Surah Al-Hujurat (49:13) and Surah Al-Maidah (5:2) teach the importance of mutual recognition among nations and tribes, as well as cooperation in righteousness and piety. The Quran also emphasizes the importance of justice (Surah An-Nisa 4:58) and the unity of the ummah (Surah Ali Imran 3:103) as the main foundations for achieving harmonious social integration. This study finds that the ideal pattern of social integration according to the Quran is based on principles of justice, unity, mutual assistance, and recognition of differences, which, if consistently applied, can address various social challenges faced today.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic expanded rapidly to practically every country in a matter of months, and it can affect anybody, including the elderly, adults, young children, babies, pregnant women, and nursing moms. This study seeks to assess the effectiveness of emotion regulation training in increasing family resilience in housewives during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study employed a quantitative approach. It involved 50 housewives from the Muslimat NU Lampung Region as subjects determined by the purposive sampling technique. The researchers collected the data using the Family Resilience Assessment Scale (FRAS), which consists of 51 items compiled by Sixbey (2005). In addition, the researchers conducted a qualitative analysis by analyzing data collected through observations, interviews, and emotion regulation training. The data was analyzed using SPSS 24.0 for Windows. The results of this study show that t = -39.617 with Sig.0.000 (1% significance). Therefore, there was a significant difference in the family resilience of housewives before and after emotion regulation training. The findings revealed an increase in the value of family resilience before and after the study. Before the study, the average value of family resilience was 78.76, while after the study, it was 167.02. In this study, there were three categories of resilience percentage. The category of highly resilient housewives increased to 80%, the medium category dropped to 20%, and the low category fell to 0%. As a result, it is possible to conclude that the training effectively increased family resilience among housewives.

Abstract

Objective: This study examines how Islamic ethical cognition influences ethical financial behaviour. Islamic ethical cognition comprises an understanding of Maqasid al-Shariah. It also comprises internalization of ethical principles and gender perspective. Methods:  A quantitative approach was employed, with data analysed using EViews. A structured questionnaire was used to measure the key constructs. Results:  The results of the study indicate that ethical financial behaviour can be predicted by the three aspects of Islamic ethical thinking, with the best results achieved when ethical principles are fully accepted. The relationship between understanding Maqasid al-Shariah and ethical practices, as well as between the internalization of principles and ethical behavior, is greatly influenced by religious dedication. However, the study's findings show that there is no statistically significant relationship between gender, ethical perspective, and financial behavior. These results demonstrate the importance of being a good person (akhlaq) in Islamic banking and finance, as well as the potential of religion to encourage better behavior.Novelty: We introduce an integrated model that synthesizes the teleological framework of Maqasid al-Shariah with Islamic virtue ethics and contemporary ethical decision-making theory. It looks at how religious belief affects the way Islamic ethical philosophy is put into financial practice, offering a new way of thinking about the cognitive-behavioral pathway in Islamic finance. Research Implication: This study provides a solid theoretical framework by integrating classical Islamic philosophy with modern behavioral science. It is recommended that Islamic financial institutions develop comprehensive educational programs that integrate intellectual, character, and spiritual development to foster authentic ethical behaviour in financial practices.
