Abstract

As a result of periodic shifts, technological advancements are becoming more varied. The payroll system for employees is one of them. Payroll must follow the company’s standard operating procedures (SOP) to determine several issues. Thus, the system can be customized to match the company’s specific needs and SOP. The administration and finance departments encounter difficulty processing employee payroll due to frequent errors in employee data entry, including position, department, income, and deductions. The absence of a payroll information system that can reliably and rapidly calculate employee salaries and provide timely reports has become the primary source of the difficulty. The designed employee payroll information system only processed PT. Bio Pilar Utama’s payroll data. Facilitating the administration and finance departments to input data, calculate salaries, store data, and generate reports on employee payroll could be achieved through the newly developed employee payroll information system.

Abstract

This research aims to compare the performance of two forensic investigation methods, the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), specifically for evidence analysis of MicroSD cards. MicroSD cards are frequently used as external storage in various digital devices, making them critical in digital forensic investigations. The study evaluates the effectiveness of these methods using tools such as Access Data FTK Imager and autopsy. The NIJ method enthis comparative passes detailed stages of preparation, collection, examination, analysis, and reporting, while the NIST method includes stages of collection, examination, analysis, and reporting. Results indicate that the NIJ method provides more comprehensive and detailed results, while the NIST method offers a faster investigation process. Additionally, tables and graphs illustrating performance metrics are included to substantiate the findings. This comparative analysis provides valuable insights for technopreneurs in optimizing digital forensic methods for better data integrity and efficiency, ultimately enhancing decision-making processes in technological entrepreneurship. Furthermore, this study aligns with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, by promoting innovative forensic methods that support the development of resilient infrastructure and foster innovation in the digital age. This study highlights the importance of effective forensic methods in supporting technopreneurial ventures.

Abstract

Climate change and the crisis of conventional energy resources are two interrelated global issues that severely impact environmental sustainability and economic development. Real estate development using renewable energy is carried out for various reasons involving environmental, economic, and social aspects. Internet of Everything (IoE) is a concept that expands the Internet of Things (IoT), including machine-to-machine, machine-to-person, and person-to-person communications with expanded digital features. The research method is quantitative, with numerical data that can be statistically measured in system performance. The research focuses on developing a prototype architecture of green energy for real estate development to maximize the efficiency of solar energy potential. The research's conclusion holds excellent promise for broader implementation. Solar energy's efficiency and potential can be maximized as a renewable energy source by utilizing the Internet of Everything (IoE) for real-time monitoring, control, and analysis. Additionally, this approach can offer valuable insights for decision-making in energy management going forward.

Abstract

The security of operating systems is critical in safeguarding digital infrastructure, particularly server environments vulnerable to cyberattacks. One proven approach to enhancing OS security is hardening, which involves minimizing the system's attack surface. This study evaluates the effectiveness of the Center for Internet Security (CIS) Benchmark in hardening Ubuntu Server 22.04 against cyber threats. Using the PPDIOO framework, the research implemented hardening procedures via Ansible automation and conducted experimental tests comparing a hardened server against a standard (non-hardened) counterpart. Both servers were subjected to simulated attacks including DDoS, Port Scanning, Brute Force, Web Scanning, and Web Crawling. The results demonstrate a marked improvement in resistance for the hardened server, with attack success rates significantly reduced: 11% for DDoS (versus 94% on the standard server), 0% for Port Scanning, Brute Force, and Web Crawling (versus 20–100% on the standard server), and 67% for Web Scanning (versus 100% on the standard server). These findings underscore the substantial protective advantage conferred by the CIS Benchmark. The study contributes to the field by offering empirical evidence of CIS Benchmark's applicability to modern Linux environments and highlights the value of integrating automated hardening and attack simulations in cybersecurity practices. Future work should examine scalability across different OS platforms and real-world enterprise deployments.

Abstract

Traditional weaving is a significant cultural heritage in West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, renowned for its unique and intricate woven fabrics. However, the industry faces challenges such as product counterfeiting and the need for more transparency in the supply chain, hindering its growth and economic potential. This paper proposes a solution by leveraging blockchain technology to enhance traceability, security, and efficiency throughout the supply chain of traditional woven products. Integrating the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) and Quick Response (QR) codes further fortifies data integrity and provides consumers with comprehensive product information. A prototype web application is developed, demonstrating the practical implementation of this framework. Rigorous testing of the prototype validates the correct functionality of the proposed solution. This innovative framework aims to safeguard the authenticity and sustainability of the traditional woven products from West Nusa Tenggara, fostering a more competitive and secure industry while preserving cultural heritage.

Abstract

Straightening machines are essential in the oil and gas industry. These machines are intended to straighten bent drill pipes after the drilling process. The operator must be near the straightening machine for manual operation and control. This limitation prevents the operator from monitoring the machine's performance directly and efficiently. In response to this challenge, this study proposes to use the Internet of Things to enable remote control and monitoring of the straightening machine using the NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller. The proposed system integrates sensors and electronic components to collect and process critical data from the straightening machine. The INTER-METH method develops an IoT system to control the straightening machine remotely. The RemoteXY cloud server receives the collected data via a Wi-Fi network using the Message Queuing Telemetry Transport protocol. This setup enables real-time data retrieval by an Android-based application. The proposed system allows the user to monitor the machine's operational status and control it remotely, thereby increasing efficiency by up to 45% and reducing the total cost of operation by about 60%. With the implementation of IoT, the operator could remotely monitor the performance of the straightening machine, thereby increasing operator safety by more than 50%. These advances improve operators' safety conditions and simplify maintenance and operational processes. In addition, future research could focus on robust data security measures. These developing systems could be operated with other industrial IoT platforms and utilize data analytics for predictive maintenance, extending the machine's life.
