Abstract

The background to this research is that the knowledge of the people in Siantan Hilir is still quite limited in identifying spices, so that information from one community to another in one area can be different. The research aims to provide knowledge to the public regarding plant descriptions including: local names, scientific names of plants, and plant vegetative organs. The research was carried out in Siantan Hilir Village, using observation methods, sampling and field data recording. The research results showed that the plants found were quite diverse and most were from the Zingiberaceae family. Existing information can be used as learning material and reference for determining a spice plant species based on the characteristics and morphology described in the article.

Abstract

Environmental ethics  is human-wise behavior related to all components of the environment. Environmental ethics talks about human behavior towards nature and the view of the universe, including nature, humans, and other living things. A moral view is needed to know the relevance of the theory of anthropocentrism and ecocentrism. Students must know which theories can benefit human life and how to maintain a balance between nature and humans. Belief in the theory will bring up pros and cons; therefore, the relevance that can be found from the two theories is education that understands environmental ethics as a balance. Relevance gained trust in these two theories will bring up pros and cons. We found out students in Indonesia had their main critizism towards each philosophical thought. We also found that the emerging technology and modernisation has been an issue on the debate. A better environmental ethics understanding would serve a better goal of balancing both view of   anthropocentrism and ecocentrism

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of laboratory practices, assess students' critical thinking skills, and analyze the relationship between these aspects among senior high school students in Pontianak City who have adopted the Merdeka Curriculum. This research employs a survey method with a descriptive quantitative approach. The research instruments consist of a questionnaire and a test based on the five critical thinking indicators proposed by Ennis. Data were analyzed through normality, homogeneity, and heteroscedasticity tests, followed by Pearson correlation analysis to examine the relationship between variables. The results indicate that (1) the implementation of laboratory practices and (2) students' critical thinking skills fall into the "good" category, with scores of 70.59% and 73.40%, respectively. (3) Correlation analysis reveals a positive and significant relationship between the two variables, with a correlation coefficient of 0.920 (p = 0.02). Thus, it can be concluded that effective laboratory practices contribute to the enhancement of students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

STEAM education has become an increasingly prominent focus in formal education, emphasizing the interdisciplinary integration of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. However, comprehensive studies mapping global research trends and thematic developments in STEAM remain limited. This study aims to analyze global STEAM research trends, identify influential contributors, and examine thematic evolution through bibliometric analysis. The research employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) combined with bibliometric analysis of 184 Scopus-indexed articles published between 2015 and October 2025. Data were analyzed using VOS viewer and Bibliometrix to explore publication patterns, collaboration networks, and thematic clusters. The findings indicate a significant growth in publications, particularly from 2022 to 2025, with the United States, China, and Spain as leading contributors. Lavicza, Z., and Johannes Kepler University Linz were identified as the most productive contributors. Thematic analysis revealed key clusters, including project-based learning, creativity, computational thinking, art integration, and maker-centered learning, reflecting a shift toward transdisciplinary approaches. These results highlight the evolving direction of STEAM education and suggest opportunities for future research in local implementation, technology integration, and authentic assessment.
