Abstract

Poverty is a serious problem that is always faced by a country that must be overcome immediately. In addition to being a problem, poverty is also a benchmark for socioeconomic conditions in measuring the success of development carried out by the government in a region / region. On the other hand, the Human Development Index (HDI) is one of the important indicators to measure success in efforts to build the quality of human life, and has an important impact on economic growth. Economic growth is the spearhead considering the correlation between HDI and poverty. This research was conducted to determine the influence of the human development index variable and poverty as the independent variable on economic growth in East Java as the dependent variable. The analysis used is quantitative analysis with multiple regression analysis methods in data with 2021 data and cross section data from 37 districts/cities in East Java and the conclusion is that all the independent variables used in this research have a significant effect on the amount of economic growth in East Java. either simultaneously or partially.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country rich in cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity. This diversity is both an asset and a challenge in maintaining harmony amidst differences. One important element that creates harmony in a multicultural society is tolerance, which can be enhanced through intercultural verbal communication. This study aims to analyze the role of intercultural verbal communication in improving religious tolerance at SMPN 237 Jakarta, identify barriers and supporting factors in the effectiveness of verbal communication, and explore the perspectives of students from various religions, especially Islam and non-Islam, regarding the importance of communication in building tolerance. The research method used is mixed methods with a sequential exploratory design. This approach begins with collecting qualitative data through in-depth interviews to understand the phenomenon in detail, which is then complemented by quantitative data through distributing questionnaires to obtain more measurable results. Based on data analysis, it was found that barriers to verbal communication include differences in religious beliefs, ethnocentrism, racism, social prejudice, and discrimination. Supporting factors include cultural awareness, empathy, an open attitude, and an inclusive school environment. The results of this study are expected to provide theoretical contributions to the development of intercultural communication studies and practical benefits for educators, students, and educational institutions. The findings can be the basis for creating a tolerant and harmonious school environment, thereby supporting the creation of a young generation who appreciates diversity, can think critically, and has good communication skills to create a peaceful life.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis respons konsumen terhadap brand reputasi Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) dalam konteks gerakan pemboikotan Israel. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif dengan survei yang melibatkan 30 responden pelanggan KFC di Sukarame, Bandar Lampung. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang mencakup pertanyaan pilihan ganda dan terbuka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 83% responden masih membeli KFC, dengan rasa sebagai motivasi utama. Namun, 70% responden mengetahui tentang gerakan pemboikotan, dan 67% dari mereka ikut berpartisipasi karena alasan moral dan sosial. Tanggapan negatif terhadap berita terkait KFC sebagai pro-Israel berpengaruh pada citra merek, dengan 60% responden merasa skeptis. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya KFC untuk memahami persepsi konsumen dan mengembangkan strategi komunikasi yang efektif guna mempertahankan loyalitas pelanggan.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keefektifan penerapan Kurikulum Merdeka dalam mendukung pembelajaran berkelanjutan yang berorientasi pada masa depan. Kurikulum ini dirancang untuk meningkatkan keaktifan dan kreativitas peserta didik dengan menempatkan mereka sebagai subjek utama dalam proses pembelajaran, sementara guru berperan sebagai fasilitator. Meskipun memiliki keunggulan dibandingkan kurikulum sebelumnya, seperti lebih sederhana, mendalam, efektif, dan interaktif, penerapannya di lapangan menghadapi berbagai tantangan. Tantangan utama yang ditemukan adalah keterbatasan kompetensi guru dalam memahami dan mengimplementasikan konsep Kurikulum Merdeka secara optimal, serta adaptasi siswa terhadap pola pembelajaran yang menuntut kemandirian dan partisipasi aktif. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dan studi pustaka. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa keberhasilan Kurikulum Merdeka sangat bergantung pada peningkatan kompetensi guru, dukungan sarana prasarana, dan kesiapan siswa untuk belajar secara mandiri. Apabila hambatan-hambatan tersebut dapat diatasi, Kurikulum Merdeka berpotensi menjadi kurikulum jangka panjang karena mampu mengoptimalkan bakat peserta didik dan mendorong kontribusi mereka dalam berkarya bagi bangsa. Namun demikian, setiap kurikulum memiliki kelebihan dan kekurangan, sehingga evaluasi dan perbaikan berkelanjutan tetap diperlukan agar tujuan utama pendidikan tercapai. Abstract: This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementing the Independent Curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka) in supporting sustainable learning oriented toward the future. The curriculum is designed to enhance students’ activeness and creativity by positioning them as the main subjects in the learning process, while teachers act as facilitators. Although it offers advantages over previous curricula—such as being simpler, more in-depth, effective, and interactive—its implementation in the field faces various challenges. The main challenge identified is the limited competence of teachers in understanding and applying the concepts of the Independent Curriculum optimally, as well as students’ adaptation to a learning pattern that requires independence and active participation. This research employs a qualitative approach with data collection methods including interviews and literature review. The analysis results indicate that the success of the Independent Curriculum largely depends on improving teacher competence, providing adequate facilities and infrastructure, and preparing students for independent learning. If these obstacles can be overcome, the Independent Curriculum has great potential to become a long-term curriculum because it optimizes students’ talents and encourages their contribution to national development. Nevertheless, every curriculum has its strengths and weaknesses; therefore, continuous evaluation and improvement are necessary to achieve the main goals of education.
