Abstract

Indonesia, with its rapid economic growth, is still haunted by persistent poverty problems. Inflation is like a parasite that sticks to economic growth, has the potential to worsen the poverty gap and hinder its overcoming. The aim of this research is to examine how economic growth and inflation in Indonesia affect the level of poverty in Indonesia. Panel data collected between 1994 and 2023 from 34 provinces in Indonesia is the data source. Multiple linear regression analysis is the technique used. The findings show that the number of poor people in Indonesia is not significantly affected by economic growth or inflation. Only 25.7% of the fluctuation in the number of poor people can be explained by the regression model, based on a coefficient of determination (R-square) of 0.257; the remaining 74.3% can be explained by other factors not taken into account in this study.

Abstract

This study is intended to understand the impact of inflation on economic growth in the last five years using a simple linear regression method processed using a statistical package for the social sciences (SPSS) program. The results of the analysis that have been investigated revealed that, obtained a significance value of 0.338 which is greater than 0.05, this shows that inflation does not have a major impact on economic development. Based on the coefficient of determination test, the R² is 30% < 55%, which means that inflation can only explain or affect economic growth (GDP) by 30%, while the other 70% is influenced by other variables. The final conclusion obtained is that in the last five years (2019-2023), inflation does not affect economic growth (GDP), this may be because the value of inflation and GDP in the last five years (2019-2023) is stable, so it does not show a significant influence.

Abstract

Unemployment is an economic problem that can cause many negative symptoms, such as social symptoms that have an impact on violence within the household and outside the household itself. This is because the unemployed do not have income or income that can meet their daily needs. Therefore, research is needed as a solution to the problem of unemployment by measuring the level of influence of independent variables in the form of investment, wages, economic growth and inflation. The results of this research show that 78% of the independent variables have an influence on the dependent variable in the form of open unemployment in Bogor City for the 2013-2022 period. There are 22% remaining which are other factors not present in this study.
