Abstract

Introduction. Education is important for developing the competence and career of librarians, including women librarians. Currently, opportunities for continuing education are increasingly widespread for all professions. However, female librarians still often experience obstacles in continuing their Master's education both due to family and other factors. This study aims to determine the opportunities and obstacles of female librarians in continuing their Master's program studies to improve their competencies and careers. Method. This is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation studies. Informants are 8 female librarians who are currently pursuing a Master's education in Yogyakarta. The collected data will then be analyzed descriptively, including data reduction, presentation, and conclusions. Discussion. Women librarians have opportunities for career advancement, academic skill development, and librarian competence improvement. In addition, female librarians face several challenges, including financial ability, adaptation to scientific standards, and family management. Conclusion. Increasing abilities and expertise is the main factor for female librarians to continue their master's education. The challenges faced come from internal and external factors of their environment. Keywords : Education; Master; Librarians; Opportunities; Challenge ABSTRAK Peluang dan Tantangan Pustakawan Perempuan Lanjut Studi Magister di Yogyakarta Pendahuluan. Pendidikan merupakan hal yang penting bagi pengembangan kompetensi dan karir pustakawan, termasuk pustakawan perempuan. Saat ini kesempatan melanjutkan Pendidikan semakin luas untuk semua profesi. Namun demikian, pustakawan perempuan masih sering mengalami kendala dalam melanjutkan pendidikan Magister-nya baik karena faktor keluarga maupun faktor lainnya. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui peluang dan hambatan pustakawan perempuan dalam melanjutkan studi program Magister dalam meningkatkan kompetensi dan karir mereka. Metode. Ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Informan adalah 8 pustakawan perempuan yang sedang menempuh pendidikan Magister yang ada di Yogyakarta. Data yang dikumpulkan kemudian akan dianalisis secara deskriptif meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data dan kesimpulan. Pembahasan. Pustakawan perempuan memiliki kesempatan untuk peningkatan jenjang karir, pengembangan keahlian akademis, dan peningkatan kompetensi kepustakawanan. Selain itu, ada beberapa tantangan yang dihadapi pustakawan perempuan antara lain kemampuan finansial, adaptasi mengikuti standar keilmuan, dan manajemen keluarga. Kesimpulan. Peningkatan kemampuan dan keahlian menjadi faktor utama pustakawan perempuan melanjutkan pendidikan magister. Tantangan yang dihadapi berasal dari faktor internal dan eksternal dari lingkungan mereka. Kata kunci: Pendidikan; Magister; Pustakawan Perempuan; Peluang; Tantangan

Abstract

Libraries as one of the institutions that manage and disseminate information, are required to present information that is easily accessible anytime and anywhere needed by users. Based on this, the library needs to collaborate in order to maximize efforts in fulfilling information needs to users. The purpose of this paper is to find out how international collaboration is implemented in libraries. Collaboration can improve the quality of management and services in the library so that all activities in the library become more effective and efficient. Collaboration can be done nationally or internationally. Internationally there are several organizations that accommodate in the field of library and information science including IFLA, COCI, and CONSAL. The realization of international library collaboration is found in academic libraries, namely American Corner, French Corner, Indian Corner, Japan Corner, Australian Corner, and so on. In addition, an example of a university library that collaborates globally is the Libraries of Leiden University. Libraries of Leiden University is an academic library based in the city of Leiden, the Netherlands. Libraries of Leiden University has many branch libraries in other countries including one of them in Indonesia, precisely in Jakarta, namely KITLV-Jakarta

Abstract

Pemetaan atau visualisasi dalam ilmu pengetahuan sangat penting mengingat dapat menggambarkan secara garis besar isi dari suatu literatur sehingga mempermudah pembacanya. Pemetaan atau visualisasi yang dilakukan penulis kali ini untuk melihat apakah kata kunci (keywords) yang muncul pada artikel Jurnal IQRA’ Tahun 2020-2022 sudah sesuai dengan kaidah atau perspektif bidang jurnalnya. Metode yang dilakukan adalah dengan menggunakan analisis software bibliometrik yaitu Publish of Perish, Mendeley dan VOSviewer. Jumlah kutipan yang dihitung berdasarkan Google Scholar dalam rentang waktu 3 tahun tersebut adalah 51 artikel. Berdasarkan hasil data keywords di atas maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada 10 besar kata kunci yang telah dirangkum dari 149 keywords. Diantaranya yaitu, Perpustakaan, Pustakawan, Informasi, Tokoh Arsip, Literasi Informasi dan sebagainya. IQRA: Jurnal Perpustakaan dan Informasi adalah jurnal ilmiah di bidang Informasi, Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan. Berdasarkan penjelasan ini, maka keywords yang muncul telah sesuai dengan bidang artikel Jurnal IQRA’.

Abstract

Background: This research uses an effective understanding of interpersonal communication and finds out what influences library users to visit the library at Universitas Negeri Medan.Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of interpersonal communication and service quality on library satisfaction at Universitas Negeri Medan.Methods: This data collection technique is through observation and documentation. This data analysis technique uses thematic analysis. In providing services, librarians must foster positive, transparent, and interpersonal relationships by providing services that make librarians very happy when visiting the library. Communication is one of the most important factors in working between humans and other people in the work environment, for example, between employees in the same position or employees in different positions. The purpose of this research is to obtain information or feedback and improve user-friendly services, which is a form of collaboration between users and librarians to understand the purpose and objectives.Results: The results of this study prove that the most important thing is the positive influence of positive service to visitors and the quality of service to the accuracy of consumers can be well received.Conclusion: Based on the results of the research, a desktop-based information system application can be produced that can handle library services, among others, such as membership registration services, loans, returns, storage, library catalogue services, and compensation services.

Abstract

The research is entitled The Role of Parents in Reducing Online Game Addiction in Students of SMP Negeri 11 Medan. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the role of parents in reducing online game addiction, how the impact of online game addiction and what are the factors that become obstacles for parents in reducing online game addiction in students of SMP Negeri 11 Medan. The research aims to find out the role of parents in reducing online game addiction, knowing the impact of addiction and knowing the factors that become obstacles for parents in reducing online game addiction in students of SMP Negeri 11 Medan. This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach where this research uses Miles and Huberman data analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that the role of parents is very important for the growth of children, therefore parents must do several things so that children are not addicted to gadgets and online games including: by mentoring, supervision and open communication. Efforts to avoid the use of gadgets and online games in it are by the way each parent must take several actions or preventive measures to minimize the use of cell phones in children, by limiting time, making commitments from the beginning with children so that in children there will be a sense of responsibility and think they have a promise with their parents that they should not break. It can be concluded that the factors that influence online gaming are the frequency of playing online games, the time of playing online games, and the games or games that are favored.
