Background: Diabetes mellitus is a non-communicable disease that is included in the group of metabolic diseases with characteristics or symptoms of blood sugar that exceed normal values, which can also be called hyperglycemia. Bitter melon contains saponins and other complex compounds which play a role in lowering blood glucose levels. Explotab is formulated with bitter melon fruit extract to become an FDT preparation. Purpose: To determine the effect of explotab as a disintegrator and the differences in characteristics in the physical properties of the tablets produced in the fast disintegrating tablet formulation of bitter melon fruit extract. Methods: The research used a quasi-experimental method with a one-group posttest only design. Three formulations were made with varying amounts of different explotabs using the direct compression method, then evaluation was carried out with the granule flow time test, granule moisture test, organoleptic test, weight uniformity test, hardness test, friability test, and disintegration time test. The research results were analyzed descriptively and statistically using the One Way ANOVA comparison test. Results: The evaluation results of fast disintegrating bitter melon extract tablet preparations with explotab variations meet the requirements of the FDT preparation evaluation test. Conclusion: The evaluation results of fast disintegrating bitter melon extract tablet preparations with explotab variations meet the requirements of the FDT preparation evaluation test
