Abstract

Improving the quality of schools requires various strategies. One of the things that affects students' academic and non-academic abilities is influenced by the strategies used by the principal. The purpose of this research is to find out what are the school strategies in improving students' abilities in the academic and non-academic fields. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The data source used in this study is primary data. The subjects in this study are school principals, teachers, and students. Meanwhile, the object of this study is the analysis of school strategies in improving student achievement. The instruments used in this study are questionnaires for students and interview sheets. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of the data analysis showed that school strategies had a positive effect on the development of potential in students, both in the academic and non-academic fields. This is evidenced by the average score of the questionnaire which reached 91.8. The findings of this research are to improve student achievement in the academic and non-academic fields can be done by making policies, programs and activities adjusted to the vision, mission and goals of the school as a basis in determining strategies that can be implemented by all students, as well as utilizing various appropriate media and learning methods so that students are able to be motivated to learn

Abstract

Interest in reading is an activity carried out by someone through intention without coercion from anyone to find out the contents of a reading result. This activity can also be done by anyone at any time, whether outside the classroom or in another place. The purpose of this research is to determine the evaluation of the application of the cooperative learning model for students' reading interest in the reciprocal teaching type. This research uses qualitative methods using observation and interview data collection techniques. The research instrument used is conveying learning objectives and motivating students, the second stage is presenting information, the third stage is organizing students into several study groups, the fourth stage is guiding students to study in groups, the fifth stage is conducting evaluations and the sixth stage is giving awards. The research results show an increase in students' interest in reading at junior high schools. In this case the teacher pays more attention to students in learning and can provide encouragement for students to have motivation in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' ability to listen to the elements of poetry building using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model in class X SMK Negeri 1 Lolomatua in the 2024/2025 Learning Year. This classroom action research (PTK) uses a four-stage procedure: planning, action, observation, and reflection, which is carried out in two cycles. The research subjects were 24 students. Data were collected through observation techniques, tests, field notes, and documentation. The results showed a significant improvement. In cycle I, the average student score only reached 52.6%, with the lowest score of 37.5 and the highest of 75. Student activeness in this cycle was in the range of 75% to 80.8%. Meanwhile, in cycle II, the average student score increased sharply to 80%, with the lowest score of 62.7 and the highest of 100. Student activeness also increased to 92.5% at the first meeting and 95.4% at the second meeting. This increase was supported by the performance of researchers who successfully carried out all stages of learning with a percentage of 100% at the end of cycle II. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the application of the Problem Based Learning learning model is effective in improving the ability to listen to the elements of poetry building in students.
