Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, learning is carried out online, to answer the challenges of online learning, it is necessary to make teaching materials that can be used from home, such as electronic modules. This study aims to produce an E-Module in Ethnosains-Based Integrated Science on Materials of Substance, Temperature, and Heat for VII Grade Students that is valid and practical. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) using a 4D model, but the research only goes up to three stages including the define, design and develop stages. Based on the results of the study through the validity test of the E-Module, it obtained a validation scored of 85,82% with a valid category. The practical test by the teacher scored 90,74% in the very practical category and the practical test by the students scored 95,15% in the very practical category.

Abstract

Science is one of the subjects whose learning is carried out in an integrated manner. Integrated science learning can be supported with integrated science worksheets. So far, the use of worksheets has not been maximized due to the availability of the worksheets themselves. In fact, with the integrated worksheet, the use of limited teaching materials can be more optimal. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a Nested-type integrated natural science worksheet. This study aims to produce a valid and practical Nested Type Integrated Science worksheet. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) using a 4-D research model consisting of four stages, namely, define, design, develop and disseminate. This worksheet was validated by three expert validators, namely science lecturers. The subjects of this study were class VIII students and science teachers. The object of research is the Nested Type Integrated Science worksheet. The results of this study obtained the following data: (1) The Nested type Integrated Science Worksheet that was developed was valid with a validity test result of 90.5% (very valid). (2) Nested Type Integrated Science LKS which was developed practically with practicality test results of 95.88% (very practical).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the application of the handout-assisted jigsaw cooperative learning model on the science competence of 8th grader students at SMPN 1 BAYANG. This research is a quasi-experimental research. The research design was a nonequivalent posttest-only control group design. The population in this study were all students of 8th grader SMPN 1 Bayang. The sample from this study was taken by purposive sampling technique. In this study, data collection was carried out by filling out an observation questionnaire. The instrument used for knowledge competence is multiple choice and the instrument for skills competency is an assessment sheet. The results of data analysis on the posttest of the human respiratory system obtained tcount = 2.02 and ttable = 2.01. Meanwhile, in the posttest of the human excretory system, tcount = 2.04 and ttable = 2.01. For human respiratory system skills, tcount=2.02 and ttable=2.01. While the skills of the human excretory system obtained tcount 2.16 and ttable = 2.01. Because tcount > ttable with α=0.05 then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means that there is an influence or an increase in the achievement of science competence for class VIII students at SMPN 1 Bayang with the help of handouts.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low student learning outcomes in science learning at 8th grade in Secondary School 34 Padang. It caused by the science learning process is still teacher-centered so that students are less active in the learning process. This study aims to find out how much influence of the cooperative model type think-pair-share assisted by crossword puzzles on students' cognitive abilities. The method used is a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent posttest only control group design. The population of this study was all students of 8th grade in Secondary School 34 Padang that consisted of 9 classes. The samples of this study were 32 students of class VIII-A and 30 students of class VIII-B. The sampling technique was done by purposive sampling technique. The results of the data analysis was carried out by using SPSS version 25 application which carried out by using a hypothesis test with independent sample t-test. The test results, a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.004 <0.05 which means is rejected and is accepted. It can be concluded that the cooperative model type think-pair-share assisted by crossword puzzles has an influence on students' cognitive abilities of students at Secondary School 34 Padang.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the results of observations of 7th grade students at SMPN 29 Padang for the 2021/2022 academic year. It is known that there are still many students who in the learning process are less active and cooperate with each other. Student learning outcomes are classified as low with an average below the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) of 80. Teacher apply teacher centered learning methods in the learning process. This study aims to determine the increase in student learning outcomes with the Guided Inquiry learning model on the material Temperature, heat and expansion. This research was conducted at SMPN 29 Padang for the 2022/2023 school year. The samples in this study were 32 students of class VII.6 and 32 students of class VII.7. This type of research is quasi-experimental research with a non-equivalent control group design. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The research instrument used a test instrument in the form of an objective test of 30 questions. Data analysis used the normality test, homogeneity test and parametric test, namely the t test to see an increase in student learning outcomes. The results showed that there was an increase between before and after the application of the Guided Inquiry learning model where t count was greater than t table, namely 7.62 > 1.67.

Abstract

In the 21st century the educational curriculum has developed to a higher level with the aim of building students' intelligence abilities in learning, especially in science learning, one way to improve students' cognitive learning outcomes is to use Problem Based Learning (PBL) models. PBL is a learning model that requires students to be able to solve problems that occur in the real world as a context for developing critical thinking skills and problem solving. The PBL learning model has been widely used by previous researchers, but not many studies have thoroughly examined the PBL model in junior high school science learning. The method used in this research is descriptive using a quantitative approach followed by meta-analysis techniques. The population in this study were S1-S3 indexed scientific publication articles and articles with ISSN, the sample used in this study were 31 articles. There are three results from this study, firstly the application of the PBL model in science learning has a very high influence on class VII with an effect size of 1,32, secondly the application of the PBL model has a very high influence on the material growth and development of living things with an effect size value of 4,27, the third application of the PBL model to students' cognitive learning outcomes has a very high effect with an effect size value of 1,19.

Abstract

Cooperative learning model type Teams Games Tournament (TGT) is one of the learning models that involve all student activities, peer tutors between students, containing games that can create fun learning. By applying the TGT model, students will be more motivated to learn and will be able to improve student learning outcomes. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of cooperative learning model type Teams Games Tournament (TGT) on the material substance and changes to the learning outcomes of students in grade VII junior high school. This study is included in the type of Quasi-experimental research using a research design that is Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sampling technique used is Purposive Sampling. The sample consisted of one experimental class using cooperative model type TGT and one control class using lecture and discussion method. The instrument used is a written test with multiple choice questions. This study conducted statistical analysis with the help of Microsoft Excel. Based on the hypothesis test with the test U (Mann Whitney) diperolehkan zhitung value of 3.01 and ztabel of 1.96. Seen H1 accepted, so it can be concluded that the cooperative learning model type TGT has a significant influence on the learning outcomes of students in grade VII Junior High School on the material substance and its changes.
