Abstract

Information and communication technology (ICT) plays a critical role in improving educational quality. Because of its strengths in facilitating administration operations such as data storage, knowledge management, and decision-making, ICT solutions for administration and management are currently popular in universities. Here, to support teaching and learning processes as well as to achieve the veritable tools for administrators in private universities, the purpose of this study was to gain a better understanding of how ICT applications are used, the tools used by the school administrator, and the efficacy of ICT applications for administrative and managerial tasks at universities. It is obvious that lack of commitment by Administrators; lack of ICT strategy; lack of competent staff to manage the ICTs and low skill level of the administrators led to the reasons for poor use of the ICTs in Universities. Other reasons that added to the underuse of the ICTs are insufficient budget and irregular power supply. This paper presents a survey of the literature on ICT applications and their efficacy in university administration functions. The findings provided insight into how administrators might improve and expand their use of ICT in daily administrative duties to make their work more efficient and effective. Finally, recommendations for university administrations to improve their ICT understanding and practice will be explored.

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between principals' intellectual stimulation strategies and teachers' job satisfaction in public secondary schools in Ilorin East, Nigeria. The research addresses three primary questions and one hypothesis regarding the impact of leadership strategies on teacher satisfaction. A total of 323 questionnaires were distributed to teachers but 212 completed responses were suitable for analysis. The findings revealed a significant positive correlation (r = 0.696, p < 0.05) between principals' intellectual stimulation strategies and teachers' job satisfaction. Specifically, strategies such as fostering professional development, encouraging collaboration, and promoting innovative teaching practices were positively associated with higher levels of job satisfaction among teachers. The results underscore the importance of transformational leadership in enhancing teacher morale and engagement. In conclusion, the study highlights that effective intellectual stimulation practices implemented by school principals significantly contribute to improving teachers' job satisfaction. It was recommended that professional development programs should be established to equip principals with the skills necessary to foster such an environment, ultimately benefiting both educators and students in the Nigerian educational landscape.

The Nigerian education system plays a crucial role in shaping the nation's future. However, over the years, there have been concerns about the effectiveness and relevance of the curriculum in preparing students to face rapidly changing global challenges. This research aims to explore the weaknesses within the current Nigerian curriculum and propose strategies to reshape it to drive sustainable national development. It is a comprehensive and systematic literature review, a critical step to thoroughly understand the challenges within Nigeria's curriculum and identify potential improvement strategies. This research allows for a comprehensive synthesis of scholarly articles, governmental reports, and educational publications, establishing a strong foundation for subsequent methodologies. The study begins by analyzing the current state of the Nigerian curriculum, highlighting its limitations and shortcomings. It delves into how the curriculum inadequately addresses critical skills and competencies needed by the 21st-century workforce, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and digital literacy. The study emphasizes the need for continuous evaluation mechanisms and feedback to ensure the effectiveness of the modified curriculum. Regular assessments and monitoring systems should be implemented to measure the impact of curriculum changes and identify areas for improvement. By addressing these deficiencies and integrating relevant and practical skills, the curriculum can better prepare students to face future challenges.
