Abstract

The study aims to explore the influence of digital literacy on information-seeking behavior among students of STIAB Jinarakkhita. Digital literacy is considered a key factor that affects students' ability to access, evaluate, and utilize information found online. The study uses quantitative methods involving students. Through surveys and statistical analysis, the study assessed students' level of digital literacy and identified patterns of their information-seeking behavior. Variables such as technical skills, critical evaluation of information sources, and frequency of use of digital platforms were analyzed to understand to what extent digital literature contributed to the effectiveness in the search for information. The research results are expected to provide a deeper insight into how digital literacy affects student information-seeking behavior. The implications of this research involve a better understanding of students' digital literacy needs, which can help develop more focused learning strategies and programmes in a higher education environment. Thus, this research can contribute to a practical and theoretical understanding of the importance of digital literacy in improving the quality of student information searches in the digital age. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pengaruh literasi digital terhadap perilaku pencarian informasi di kalangan mahasiswa STIAB Jinarakkhita. Literasi digital dianggap sebagai faktor kunci yang mempengaruhi kemampuan mahasiswa dalam mengakses, mengevaluasi, dan memanfaatkan informasi yang ditemukan secara daring. Studi ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan melibatkan mahasiswa. Melalui survei dan analisis statistik, penelitian ini menilai tingkat literasi digital mahasiswa dan mengidentifikasi pola perilaku pencarian informasi mereka. Variabel-variabel seperti keterampilan teknis, evaluasi kritis terhadap sumber informasi, dan frekuensi penggunaan platform digital dianalisis untuk memahami sejauh mana literasi digital berkontribusi terhadap efektivitas dalam pencarian informasi. Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan yang lebih mendalam tentang bagaimana literasi digital memengaruhi perilaku pencarian informasi mahasiswa. Implikasi penelitian ini melibatkan pemahaman yang lebih baik terhadap kebutuhan literasi digital mahasiswa, yang dapat membantu pengembangan strategi pembelajaran dan program literasi digital yang lebih terfokus di lingkungan pendidikan tinggi. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini dapat memberikan kontribusi pada pemahaman praktis dan teoretis terkait pentingnya literasi digital dalam meningkatkan kualitas pencarian informasi mahasiswa di era digital.

Abstract

In the 21st century era of globalization, students are faced with the challenge of becoming adaptive and competitive individuals. Student Management Skills Training (LKMM) plays an important role in equipping students with managerial skills and effective communication. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature analysis design to explore the influence of LKMM on communication effectiveness in student organizations. The results showed that the training not only improved students' communication skills, but also strengthened their managerial and strategic decision-making skills. LKMM helps students understand the organizational structure, increases self-confidence, and encourages active involvement in the organization. Thus, LKMM contributes significantly to the effectiveness of student organizations, creating a more productive and collaborative environment.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of sarcasm on communication misunderstandings in college students. Sarcasm is a form of communication that contains satire or irony, and often causes ambiguity of meaning, so it has the potential to cause misunderstanding in the communication process. This research uses a quantitative approach with an ex-post facto method. The research subjects were students of the Buddhist Communication Science Study Program of STIAB Jinarakkhita Lampung TA. 2024-2025 as many as 49 respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires, then analyzed using normality test, homogeneity test, and simple linear regression analysis with the help of SPSS 16.0. The results showed that sarcasm had a significant effect on communication misunderstanding, with a coefficient of determination (R Square) of 0.487 or 48.7%. This means that 48.7% of students' communication misunderstanding is influenced by the use of sarcasm. This finding shows that the higher the intensity of sarcasm use, the greater the potential for communication misunderstanding. Therefore, it is important for students to pay more attention to the way they communicate so that the messages conveyed do not cause the wrong interpretation.
