Abstract

This study aims are to: 1) Describe the conditions and potential of learning using contextual-based audio-visual teaching materials. 2) Produce contextual based audio visual teaching material products. 3) Analyze effectiveness and attractiveness to improve student learning outcomes in the learning process after using contextually-based audio-visual teaching materials in learning Buddhist education. This study uses the research and development approach of Bord and Gall. The study was conducted at SD Tunas Mekar Indonesia Bandar Lampung. Observation instrument data collection techniques, then data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. Based on observational research and the development of contextual-based audio-visual teaching materials it is very supportive and possible to do contextual learning based on 0.67 and product attractiveness has a success rate of 82%. Audio visual teaching materials are able to increase the value of the material Anjali from 66.6 become 88. While in the material Namaskhara there is a change in the value before using the product that developed the average value of students 69.6 become 83,and in the Uttana material the average value of students also experienced significant changes from68.4 to 90. This value is a very meaningful value for improving student learning outcomes so that context-based audio-visual teaching material has been proven to improve learning outcomes in material ways of giving respect in Buddhism in class I SD Tunas Mekar Indonesia Bandar Lampung.Keywords: audio-visual, contextual teaching material, Buddhist education DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jiip.v1i2.18182

Abstract

This study analyzes effective communication in Buddhist Religious Education (BRE) learning during the Covid-19 pandemic at Bandar Agung Elementary School 4, Bandar Sribhawono Subdistrict. The study utilizes a qualitative approach and a case study method. Data is collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, which are then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman data analysis model. The research findings indicate that teachers use WhatsApp and video calls as communication channels for distance learning. Teachers also involve parents or family members of the students as communication intermediaries. Interactive teaching methods such as questioning, discussions, and lectures are employed. The study also identifies communication barriers such as limited internet access and technological proficiency. Teachers address these barriers by directly communicating with students and parents through home visits. This research highlights the importance of effective communication in BRE learning during the Covid-19 pandemic and the strategies used to overcome communication challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the influence analysis of students' mindful communication abilities on the spiritual intelligence of Triratna High School students in West Jakarta. Mindful communication ability is the communication ability that is adequately conveyed by being aware of aspects of language and communication ethics. Character is formed due to an understanding of the three relationships that every human being must experience. Spiritual intelligence is the foundation for intellectual and emotional intelligence to function effectively. This study used a descriptive approach and a quantitative regression method using two instruments to measure mindful communication's effect on students' mental intelligence at Triratna school, West Jakarta. The results of this study indicate that there is a positive relationship between mindful communication and cognitive intelligence. The results of this study contain implications that mindful communication has an essential role for students.

Abstract

Interpersonal communication involves communicators and communicants meeting face to face and allows each communicator to capture the communicator's reaction or vice versa directly, both verbally and nonverbally. Good interpersonal communication will help increase student learning activities to the fullest. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The population in this study was 113, and the sample was 66, obtained using the proportional random sampling technique. The research was conducted at the Jinarakkhita Buddhist College of Religion in Lampung with even semester student respondents. Based on the study's results, it illustrates a significant influence between interpersonal communication variables and student learning activity variables. The criterion for testing the hypothesis is to reject H0 if t count > t table and vice versa. For the t distribution used dk = (n-2) and a = 0.05. Based on the data analysis obtained tcount = 3,081 while the t table with n = 66 and a = 0.05 brought 1,668. Then it can be seen that t count> t table (3,081> 1.668) or sig (0.003≤0.05), it is concluded that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, so there is an influence interpersonal communication on student learning activities.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the competence of educators and education by utilizing Android application-based chanting in the district Buddhist Sunday School Pesawaran so that activities in education can be carried out properly. The target of dedication is the Giri Bhakti Monastery, with a total of 50 participants. Service activities are carried out using various methods, ranging from surveys, focus group discussions, demonstrations, performances, and mentoring. The material training provided includes an introduction to the "Chanting" Application (a pujja bhakti tool) Based on Android. The results of community service activities show success, with indications of high enthusiasm and motivation to utilize the participant's Android application-based chanting at each stage of training activities.

Abstract

The research aims to investigate the influence of emotional intelligence on students' learning motivation. Conducted at Jinarakkhita Buddhist College among second-semester students, this study seeks to establish the significant relationship between emotional intelligence and the level of learning motivation. Utilizing a quantitative approach, the study involves data collection from second-semester students at Jinarakkhita Buddhist College using a research instrument that has undergone validity and reliability testing. Statistical analysis is performed to test hypotheses and assess the association between emotional intelligence and learning motivation. The findings of this research will contribute to a deeper comprehension of the significance of emotional intelligence in shaping students' learning motivation. The implications of this study can provide valuable information for educational institutions to enhance the development of students' emotional intelligence and learning motivation.

Abstract

This quantitative research aims to determine the contribution of lecturers' persuasive communication to students' self-confidence and learning motivation. The study population was students of Jinarakkhita Buddhist College of Lampung. The sampling technique was carried out by random sampling with the number of selected samples as many as 78 people. The research data were collected using the lecturer's persuasive communication scale, self-confidence scale, and learning motivation scale. The data analysis technique used was multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA). Analysis of research data showed that there was a positive contribution between persuasive communication and self-confidence. It is also known that there is a positive contribution between persuasive communication and learning motivation. Specifically, it is known that in this study, lecturers' persuasive communication is high, students' self-confidence is moderate, and students' learning motivation is also moderate.

Abstract

The purposes of this study is to investigate the difference of the students’ written communication autonomy after the implementation of scaffolding strategy. The sample is twenty students of the first-year semester of the undergraduate students of the Buddhist Communication Science Department in Jinarakkhita Buddhist College of Lampung. This research is quantitative by using one group pre-test posttest design. The instruments are writing test, questionnaire and interview. The result of data analysis shows that scaffolding strategy can further promote the students’ autonomy in written communication significantly. The result of the questionnaire shows that the students give the positive response towards applying scaffolding strategy in writing class. The conclusion of this present study, after the students are given scaffolding strategy, along with the improvement in written communication ability, the students’ autonomy in writing improves significantly.

Abstract

General Election is a process to achieve formal legal authority that is carried out by the participation of candidates and controlled by supervisory institutions, in order to gain legitimacy from the community authorized by applicable law. To be able to reach the success of a campaign, political marketing is needed. The concept of marketing is not only limited to business. This fact attracts more attention from many parties to apply marketing science outside the context of business organizations. Marketing can be applied to organizational forms, which are not only oriented towards economic profit alone and focus more on long-term relationships with consumers and stakeholders. The results of the 2020 Population Census show that Indonesia's population is dominated by millennials and generation Z. Political marketing communication with voting decisions has a relationship. The research findings illustrate that political marketing communication is very influential on millennials, especially in recognizing the profiles of candidates. ABSTRAKPemilihan Umum (Pemilu) adalah sebuah proses untuk mencapai otoritas secara legal formal yang dilaksanakan atas partisipasi kandidat dan dikontrol oleh lembaga pengawas, agar mendapatkan legitimasi dari masyarakat yang disahkan oleh hukum yang berlaku. Untuk dapat menjangkau keberhasilan suatu kampanye dibutuhkan marketing politik. Konsep marketing tidak hanya terbatas pada bisins saja. Kenyatan ini lebih menarik perhatian banyak pihak untuk menerapkan ilmu marketing diluar konteks organisaasi bisnis. Marketing dapat diaplikasikan ke dalam bentuk organisasi, yang tidak hanya berorientasi kepada keuntungan ekonomi semata dan lebih menitik beratkan aktifitasnya kepada hubungan jangka panjang dengan konsumen dan stakeholder. Hasil Sensus Penduduk 2020 menunjukkan penduduk Indonesia didominasi Generasi milenial dan generasi Z. Komunikasi pemasaran politik dengan keputusan memilih memiliki hubungan. Temuan penelitian mengambarkan komunikasi pemasaran politik ternyata sangat berpengaruh terhadap kaum milenial khusunya dalam mengenali profil para kandidat.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service activity is to foster the attitude and active role of Buddhists in order to maintain an attitude of tolerance. This activity is for an attitude of harmony and diversity towards the differences that exist in Indonesia. Humans are God's creation and have differences in gender, ethnicity, customs, language, skin colour and religion adopted by the people of Indonesia, including the community members in Gaya Baru Village 4, Seputih Surabaya Sub-District, Central Lampung Regency, which has a variety of diversity. To be able to live in harmony between community members of different beliefs, an attitude of togetherness and tolerance between communities is fostered, by promoting an attitude of difference, beauty and tolerance will be beautifully intertwined. The implementation of the service was carried out using lecture, discussion and practice methods related to public speaking. The equipment used included: materials, laptops, LCD projectors, microphones, and sound systems. ABSTRAKTujuan Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini menumbuhkan sikap dan peran aktif umat Buddha guna terpeliharanya sikap toleransi. Kegiatan ini untuk sikap harmoni dan kebhinekaan terhadap perbedaan-perbedaan yang ada di Indonesia. Manusia adalah ciptaan tuhan dan memiliki perbedaan jenis kelamin, suku, adat istiadat, Bahasa, warna kulit serta agama yang dianut oleh masyarakat Indonesia tidak terkecuali oleh warga masyarakat di desa gaya baru 4 kecamatan seputih Surabaya kabupaten lampung tengah yang memiliki berbagai keanekaragaman. Untuk dapat hidup secara harmonis antara warga masyarakat yang berbeda keyakinan maka ditumbuhkannya sikap kebersamaan dan toleransi antar masyarakat, dengan mengedepankan sikap perbedaan itu maka keindahan dan toleransi pun akan jalin dengan indah. Pelaksanaan pengabdian dilakukan dengan metode ceramah, diskusi dan praktik berkaitan dengan berbicara didepan umum.
