Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of interpersonal communication effectiveness on relationships among individuals in the Bodhisattva School community, using quantitative methods. The research method involves conducting surveys with questionnaires as data collection tools. Students of various grade levels were randomly selected as respondents. Using statistical analysis, this study found a positive correlation between increased interpersonal communication effectiveness and individual relationship quality in the school environment. The findings indicate that the effectiveness of interpersonal communication is increasing, as is the quality of interpersonal relationships at Bodhisattva Dasar School. The findings indicate that there is a significant relationship between interpersonal communication variables and siswa SD Bodhisattva relationships. The hypothesis yields t hitung> t tabel, or 24,673>0,449, implying that Ho was eliminated and Ha was retained, resulting in improved interpersonal communication based on the relationship between individual SD Bodhisattva. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan menegtahui pengaruh efektivitas komunikasi interpersonal terhadap relasi antarindividu di kalangan siswa di Sekolah Dasar Bodhisattva, menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Metode penelitian melibatkan penyelenggaraan survei dengan kuesioner sebagai alat pengumpulan data. Siswa dari berbagai tingkat kelas dipilih secara acak sebagai responden. Melalui penerapan analisis statistik, temuan penelitian ini mencerminkan adanya korelasi positif antara tingkat efektivitas komunikasi interpersonal dan kualitas relasi antarindividu di lingkungan sekolah. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi efektivitas komunikasi interpersonal, semakin kuat pula kualitas relasi interpersonal di Sekolah Dasar Bodhisattva. Penelitian ini memberikan sumbangan untuk pemahaman lebih lanjut mengenai peran komunikasi interpersonal dalam membentuk relasi sosial di kalangan siswa sekolah dasar. Implikasi dari temuan ini dapat digunakan sebagai dasar untuk meningkatkan program pelatihan komunikasi interpersonal di lingkungan pendidikan, dengan tujuan memperkuat jejaring sosial dan relasi positif antarindividu di Sekolah Dasar Bodhisattva. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara variabel komunikasi interpersonal terhadap hubungan antarindividu siswa SD Bodhisattva. Hasil hipotesis menunjukan t hitung> t tabel atau 24,673>0,449, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima, sehingga terdapat pengaruh komunikasi interpersonal terhadap hubungan antarindividu siswa SD Bodhisattva.

Abstract

Training for Buddhist Sunday School teachers plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of Buddhist religious education for children. The focus of this training is on developing teaching skills based on mindful communication ethics. The training encompasses key aspects such as self-awareness, awareness of students, and effective communication techniques. Teachers are instructed to cultivate active listening skills, understand individual differences among students, and respond with full presence in every interaction. By integrating mindful communication ethics into teaching, it is hoped that Buddhist Sunday School teachers can build better relationships with students, motivate them to learn with enthusiasm, and provide a profound understanding of Buddhist values. Thus, this training contributes to the improvement of the quality of Buddhist religious education in the Buddhist Sunday School environment. ABSTRAK Pelatihan Guru Sekolah Minggu Buddhis memiliki peran penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan Agama Buddha bagi anak-anak. Fokus pelatihan ini adalah pada pengembangan keterampilan mengajar yang berbasis etika komunikasi sadar-penuh. Pelatihan ini mencakup aspek-aspek utama seperti kesadaran diri, kesadaran terhadap siswa, dan teknik komunikasi yang efektif. Guru diajarkan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan mendengarkan yang aktif, mehamai perbedaan individual siswa, dan merespon dengan penuh kehadiran dalam setiap interaksi. Dengan pengintegrasian etika komunikasi sadar-penuh dalam pengajaran, diharapkan bahwa guru-guru Sekolah Minggu Buddhis dapat menciptakan hubungan yang lebih baik dengan siswa, memotivasi untuk belajar dengan antusiasme, dan memberikan pemahaman yang mendalam tentang nilai-nilai Buddha. Dengan demikian, pelatihan ini berkontribusi pada peningkatan kualitas pendidikan Agama Buddha di lingkungan Sekolah Minggu Buddhis.

Abstract

The Buddhist Camp activities for Buddhayana youth throughout NTB Province which will be held on 07–09 April 2023 at Vihara Jaya Wijya, North Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, carry the theme "Strengthening the Identity of a Superior Buddhist Generation Based on Buddhayana Values". This theme was chosen because the young generation of Buddhists is the hope for the future of Buddhism. Buddhayana Youth Buddhist Camp throughout NTB Province is an activity that aims to strengthen the identity of a superior Buddhist generation based on Buddhayana values. carried out through a series of activities, such as Dharma classes, group discussions, and meditation. Participants are given a deep understanding of Buddhist teachings and empowered to apply them in everyday life. The result is young people who are more connected to religious values and are able to use Buddhayana as a moral foundation in their actions. Buddhist Camp participants are also given the opportunity to develop themselves through various activities, such as mindfulness and art. These activities can help participants to better understand themselves and their potential. Buddhist Camp participants are encouraged to practice Buddhist teachings in their daily lives. ABSTRAKKegiatan Buddhis Camp pemuda buddhayana se-Provinsi NTB yang diselenggarakan pada tanggal 07–09 April 2023 di Vihara jaya Wijya Lombok Utara, Nusa Tenggara Barat, mengusung tema "Memperkuat Identitas Generasi Buddhis yang Unggul Berlandaskan Nilai-Nilai Buddhayana". Tema ini dipilih karena generasi muda Buddhis merupakan harapan masa depan agama Buddha. Buddhis Camp Pemuda Buddhayana se-Provinsi NTB merupakan sebuah kegiatan yang bertujuan untuk memperkuat identitas generasi Buddhis yang unggul dengan landasan pada nilai-nilai Buddhayana. dilakukan melalui serangkaian kegiatan, seperti kelas Dharma, diskusi kelompok, dan meditasi. Peserta diberikan pemahaman mendalam terhadap ajaran Buddha dan diberdayakan untuk mengaplikasikannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Hasilnya adalah pemuda yang lebih terkoneksi dengan nilai-nilai agama dan mampu menjadikan Buddhayana sebagai landasan moral dalam tindakan mereka.Peserta Buddhis Camp juga diberikan kesempatan untuk mengembangkan diri melalui berbagai kegiatan, seperti mindfulness, dan seni. Kegiatan-kegiatan tersebut dapat membantu peserta untuk lebih memahami diri sendiri dan potensinya.Peserta Buddhis Camp didorong untuk mempraktikkan ajaran Buddha dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

Community service is a mentoring activity that seeks to implement English language teaching for Buddhist Sunday School students in groups between lecturers and students. The purpose of this activity is to increase understanding of vocabulary in English with the use of the English is Fun program. The methods used in the English is Fun program include lectures, songs, games, and demonstrations. The results of this community service show that this English is Fun program has succeeded in increasing the interest and confidence of Buddhist Sunday School students to understand the basic material presented and practice English. This can be seen in the enthusiasm and determination of the students to complete all learning activities from start to finish. All those involved at Metta Jaya Monastery were supportive of this community service activity. Based on the results of this program, it can be concluded that the application of English learning teaching in the context of English is Fun is a means of improving the ability of Buddhist Sunday School students to understand English vocabulary effectively. ABSTRAKPengabdian kepada masyarakat merupakan kegiatan pendampingan yang berupaya melaksanakan pengajaran bahasa Inggris kepada para siswa Sekolah Minggu Buddha secara berkelompok antara dosen dan mahasiswa. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan pemahaman tentang kosakata dalam bahasa Inggris dengan penggunaan program English is Fun. Metode yang digunakan di program English is Fun, antara lain ceramah, lagu dan permainan dan demonstrasi. Hasil dari pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini menunjukkan bahwa program English is Fun ini telah berhasil meningkatkan minat dan kepercayaan diri para siswa Sekolah Minggu Buddha untuk memahami materi dasar yang disajikan dan praktik bahasa Inggris. Hal ini terlihat dari semangat dan tekad para siswa untuk menyelesaikan semua kegiatan pembelajaran dari awal hingga akhir. Semua yang terlibat di Vihara Metta Jaya mendukung terhadap kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini. Berdasarkan hasil program ini, dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa penerapan pengajaran belajar bahasa Inggris dalam konteks English is Fun menjadi sarana peningkatan kemampuan para siswa Sekolah Minggu Buddha dalam memahami kosakata dalam bahasa Inggris secara efektif.

Abstract

Learning media encourages learning. Limitations of learning media in Buddhist education in Sunday schools give impetus to researchers to develop multimedia to develop appropriate media. This research aims to build Android application-based learning media on the material of puja facilities and infrastructure in Buddhism. A Multimedia set is expected to be able to provide good results in learning. This approach uses research and development methods to develop Android-based Multimedia as a learning medium for Buddhist Sunday Schools in Pesawaran Regency. The study population was 144, with a sample of 21 learners. The development flow refers to the Bord and Gall development steps. The data analysis technique used is descriptive percentages to determine the questionnaire's validity and reliability and evaluate the product's effectiveness—assessment of product trials tested to media experts, material experts, and teacher and student users. The results showed that Android-based Multimedia had passed validation and operational tests with reasonable criteria, and the effects of field tests showed a significant difference between the average scores before and after using the application. Therefore, the application developed can be an effective learning medium for Buddhist Sunday Schools.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of social media use on the students marketing communication strategy at the Buddhist Communication Science Department, Jinarakkhita Buddhist College of Lampung, Indonesia. The problems that occur to students are the lack of understanding of the platform, features, and how social media supports the delivery of marketing messages, the gap between the potential of social media and its use in the context of marketing, the lack of digital literacy skills and an understanding of marketing communication strategies that are sufficient to utilize social media optimally. The research with a quantitative approach, data was collected through a survey to students of Buddhist Communication Science Department, with a population of 52 students. This research was conducted at the Jinarakkhita Buddhist College of Lampung, Indonesia. The research instrument in the form of a questionnaire was analyzed using SPSS version 26 for validity, reliability, and linear regression tests. The results showed that the intensity of social media use had a significant relationship with the effectiveness of marketing communication strategies, with a determination coefficient of 27.4%. These findings contribute to the development of digital marketing communication theory and provide recommendations for universities to improve students' digital literacy to support their marketing communication skills.

Abstract

In the 21st century era of globalization, students are faced with the challenge of becoming adaptive and competitive individuals. Student Management Skills Training (LKMM) plays an important role in equipping students with managerial skills and effective communication. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature analysis design to explore the influence of LKMM on communication effectiveness in student organizations. The results showed that the training not only improved students' communication skills, but also strengthened their managerial and strategic decision-making skills. LKMM helps students understand the organizational structure, increases self-confidence, and encourages active involvement in the organization. Thus, LKMM contributes significantly to the effectiveness of student organizations, creating a more productive and collaborative environment.

Abstract

The aim is to determine the effect of mindfulness practices on learners' learning process. Frequently encountered problems, such as stress, academic anxiety, distraction, and lack of motivation, which can hinder learners' concentration and academic performance. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey method involving 102 learners as respondents. The research instrument is a questionnaire with a Likert scale that measures learners' awareness on four mindfulness indicators, namely the body, feelings, thoughts, and objects of thought. The results showed that the practice of mindfulness had a positive effect on learners' learning process, with the majority of respondents being in the high category on body awareness, feeling awareness, and mind awareness. However, awareness of mental objects was in the medium category. Overall, mindfulness practices have a significant influence on learners' learning process and the rest is influenced by other factors.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze how the management of the temple supports Buddhayana youth in developing their interests and talents, identify the factors that optimally influence the development of Buddhayana youth's interests and talents, and formulate practical solutions that can help Buddhayana youth face challenges in their self-development process. In addition, to analyze the management system processing at Bodhisattva temple. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive nature and a case study method. Data collection was conducted through interviews, observations, and documentation with the Chairman of the Temple, Foundation Supervisors, and the Youth Leaders at Bodhisattva temple, Bandar Lampung in 2024. The research results show that the Buddhist Youth at Bodhisattva temple are actively involved in religious and social activities, such as Sunday School, major holiday celebrations, and blood donation drives, with a spirit of volunteerism based on the 5T principles: Sincerity, Intelligence, Mutual Assistance, and Responsibility. This participation is fully supported by the Temple management, which provides facilities, training, and logistics to support the development of their interests and talents. These activities enhance the skills, self-confidence, and leadership abilities of the youth, while also preparing them for a more mature future and strengthening the Buddhayana community at the temple.

Abstract

In the context of globalization, societies are increasingly diverse in culture, religion, language, and values. These differences can enrich interactions but also lead to misunderstanding and conflict. This study explores how communication can promote tolerance and unity in heterogeneous communities. A qualitative approach with a systematic literature review was used to analyze studies published in the last decade. The review identifies several key communication strategies: open dialogue, mutual listening, inclusive language, intercultural understanding, and responsible use of media. Empathic communication, respect for differing perspectives, and constructive conflict resolution also play crucial roles in fostering social cohesion. The findings suggest that communication is not only a means of sharing information, but a social tool for building trust, reducing prejudice, and strengthening unity. The study recommends collaboration among individuals, communities, and institutions to support inclusive and empathetic communication. These efforts are essential for developing policies, education systems, and media content that reflect and reinforce values of tolerance in diverse societies.
