Abstract

ABSTRAK Three-month injectable contraception offers benefits but also carries a risk of adverse consequences for users. Three-month injectable contraception has many benefits, such as being extremely effective, preventing long-term pregnancy, having no effect on husband-wife relationships, not containing estrogen, which means it has no significant effect on blood clotting disorders or heart disease, having no effect on breast milk production, having few side effects, and being safe for use by women over the age of 35 until perimenopause. However, menstruation disorders, depression, vaginal discharge, acne, nausea, vomiting, hair loss, changes in libido, and most importantly, a change in body weight are common adverse effects. The typical rise in body weight is within reasonable bounds, ranging from less than 1 kg to 5 kg in the first year, or eleven pounds or five kilograms, and a 3.4% rise in body fat after three years of consumption. The research design uses a correlational approach with a cross - sectional approach. Data processing was carried out univariately and bivariately with the Chi Square (X2) statistical test. Using 41 respondents who used injectable birth control for 3 months. The statistical test (chi square) yielded a p value of 0.01—that is, a p value less than the alpha value of 0.05—so Ho is rejected and Ha is approved. The result was that "there is a significant relationship between the use of 3-month injectable birth control and weight gain." Keywords:3-monthvaccination,bodyweight

Abstract

Low birth weight babies (LBW) are babies with a birth weight of less than 2500 grams regardless of gestational age. Birth weight is the weight of a baby who is weighed within 1 (one) hour after birth (Amin & Hardhi, 2016). LBW can occur because the gestational age is less than normal, namely 37 weeks and the baby's weight is lower than babies in general (Ministry of Health, 2018). To determine the effect of nesting on the behavior of low birth weight newborns at the Medi Medika Clinic, Tangerang Regency. Using quai experimental design with one group pretest posttest involving one group of subjects. The research sample was 30 low birth weight newborns who were treated at the Medi Medika Clinic in Tangerang Regency and were selected by purposive sampling technique. Research data were analyzed using paired t-test and Wilcoxon test. The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant effect of the use of nesting on the behavior of low birth weight newborns (p = 0.000). The use of nesting as a form of developmental care can facilitate the achievement of better rest (which is characterized by the regularity of physiological functions and the achievement of quiet sleep behavior), so it needs to be implemented in the care of low birth weight newborns at the Medi Medika Clinic, Tangerang Regency. There is a significant effect of the use of nesting on the behavior of low birth weight newborns. Pregnant women are advised to seek more information regarding pregnancy care through health workers, especially midwives, posyandu officers, the mass media and others, so they can recognize the low risk of newborns.

Abstract

Background: WHO in 2020, stated that maternal deaths during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum were 295,000 worldwide. Africa, Sub-Saharan and South Asia account for about 86%. Meanwhile, the maternal mortality rate in Indonesia in 2020 is 230 per 100,000 live births. One of the causes of maternal death is bleeding and infection. Suturing perineal tears with anesthesia is one of the maternal care programs, which aims to reduce the pain experienced by mothers during the suturing process of birth canal wounds. Giving anesthesia can also cause damage to the immune system which results in a decrease in body resistance so that there will be a lengthening of wound healing 2-3 days than without anesthesia. Research Objective: Knowing the administration of local anesthesia on the healing duration of perineal wounds in puerperal mothers. Research Method: Quasi-experiment with post-test group design. The samples in this study were all postpartum mothers who experienced perineal injuries at PMB Nunung in November-December 2023 as many as 40 people. The sampling technique uses the total sampling technique. Results of the study: The frequency distribution of long healing of perineal wounds in the majority intervention group was slow and in the majority control group was fast. The effect of local anesthesia on the healing time of perineal wounds in puerperal mothers (p. value 0.000). Conclusion and Suggestion: The effect of local anesthesia on the healing time of perineal wounds in puerperal mothers. It is expected that midwives provide counseling to postpartum mothers to properly care for perineal wounds and eat nutritious foods to accelerate the healing of perineal wounds.
