The research is aimed to identify how Doctor Tifa constructs the “fake certificate” message to the audience and creates a digital phenomenon. The qualitative study uses the Message Transmission Theory by Shannon and Weaver and uses a text analysis of Doctor Tifa’s latest posts on social media. Abstract

Information credibility in the era of digital society as an impact of the abundance of information is no longer a logical and ethical measure in the media sphere. Information truth and news accuracy are now only seen as a matter of public literacy, sharing errors, the negative impact of social media or legal problems; not a matter of fact integrity, news accuracy, and information ethics. This qualitative study with descriptive-interpretive analysis method characterized by virtual ethnography sees the erosion of logos and ethics as the cause of the digital society's easy exposure to the post-truth virus. Logos is the realm of facts, logic, truth, and valid reasoning. In the post-truth era, truth evaluation is postponed if not avoided; and lies have convincingly successfully masqueraded as valid arguments. In the post-truth era, truth and falsehood no longer have clear boundaries. Post-truth rhetoric and political agendas are certainly not only facilitated by social media, but by the reality where lies can wear the mask of truth. The multiplication of media and the spread of information sources in cyberspace are two crucial points that are most responsible for the growth of lies in the post-truth era.Keyword: Digital society, abudance of information, post-truth era, disinformed society

Abstract

Controlling style communication style is a communication approach characterized by dominance in decision-making, one-way communication, and minimal space for employees to be actively involved in the work process. Leaders who use this style tend to impose their views without considering input from employees. In the context of an organization, this communication style can create negative perceptions among employees, especially if employees feel that the decisions made do not consider real conditions in the field. This study aims to analyze the application of controlling style communication style in an organization called CV Anugrah Win Sejahtera, using Fritz Heider's Attribution Theory. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews and direct observation of employees and leaders in the company. Attribution theory is used to understand how employees interpret or assess the leader's communication style. The results of the study show that the controlling style communication style by leaders gives rise to employee perceptions that the decisions taken are authoritarian and do not pay attention to the reality they face. Employees feel less appreciated, not involved in decision-making, and lose motivation. This has an impact on less harmonious working relationships and reduces the level of employee emotional participation in the company. Based on attribution theory, employees tend to attribute the leader's communication style as a form of overly dominant control, which causes feelings of frustration and a lack of belonging to the company.

Abstract

Today, malls have transformed from mere shopping centers (transactions) into strategic social spaces. In dense urban spaces, malls often function as a ‘third space’—a neutral public space outside the home (first space) and workplace (second space)—that facilitates social interaction as well as relaxation and recreational activities. This study will explore window shopping behavior among urbanites as a form of non-transactional participation in the consumerist space. Through a qualitative study using virtual phenomenology and a non-participatory observation approach with mall visitors, this study found that window shopping is not only related to shopping interests but also becomes a social practice that reflects the need for escapism, identity flexing, and the fulfillment of psychosocial needs. Malls provide a comfortable, safe, and well-conditioned environment, making them a primary choice for urbanites to unwind and build social connectivity. These findings indicate that the function of malls has transcended issues of consumerism and commercialization. As a third space, malls have become an important arena for modern urban social life.
