Abstract

Sakramen Baptis merupakan sakramen yang pertama dan penting untuk diterima dalam Gereja katolik, sakramen ini sebagai pintu pertobatan dan juga merupakan pintu untuk menerima sakramen-sakramen lain yang ada dalam Gereja katolik. Dalam Kitab Hukum Kanonik kan. 849 menguraikan bahwa Baptis merupakan pintu sakramen-sakramen untuk keselamatan, dengannya manusia dibebaskan dari dosa, diangkat menjadi anak-anak Allah serta digabungkan dengan Gereja, hanya dapat diterimakan secara sah dengan pembasuhan air sungguh bersama dengan kata-kata yang seharusnya. metode yang digunakan dalam artikel ini yaitu metode kuantitatif. Mengingat betapa pentingnya sakramen baptis bagi keselamatan maka gereja katolik menganjurkan bahwa orangtua wajib mengusahakan agar bayi-bayi mereka di baptis sesegera mungkin dalam minggu-minggu pertama sesudah kelahirannya yang dituangkan dalam Kitab Hukum Kanonik kan.867.

Abstract

The relationship between church and culture has been a long discussion. The culture that exists in the world should be a valuable part of the life of the church. The world and society, with all their forms, characters, and social conditions, display diversity. In the culture of society, of course, there are many good and valuable values. The "Arat Sabulungan" culture in Mentawai society is one of the many cultures that have noble values. Arat Sabulungan is a custom that involves belief in the existence of spirits and spirits who inhabit all of nature, including plants, animals, soil, and man-made objects. Basically, Arat Sabulungun is the knowledge, values, rules, and norms used by people to understand and interpret their environment, including interactions between humans, animals, plants, land, water, air, and man-made objects. The values contained in the "Arat Sabulungan" culture can be seen and interpreted both from a social, moral, and spiritual perspective. These good values are then adopted into the life of the church. By seeing the importance of paying attention to the relationship between the Church and culture, the focus of this writing study is the Inculturation Catechism on the meaning of the Arat Sabulungan Culture in the Mentawai tribal community. The method used is literature and interviews, so the values contained in the Arat Sabulungan culture, such as honesty, cooperation, solidarity, and mutual respect, are found to be relevant in increasing understanding of the teachings of the Catholic Church by the Mentawai people.

Abstract

Liturgy is the summit and source of life in the Catholic Church. In the celebration of the liturgy, the People of God participate in the mystery of Christ’s death and resurrection. In the context of Indonesia, which consists of diverse ethnicities and cultures, inculturation becomes a highly promising means to make Christ more present in an Indonesian cultural form. This study aims to examine, from theological and pastoral perspectives, the practice of liturgical inculturation in the Catholic Church of East Barito in light of the Second Vatican Council document Sacrosanctum Concilium. The main focus of this research is to understand how Dayak culture is integrated into liturgical celebrations without changing the essence of the Catholic faith and how this process enriches the faith experience of the local community. The research method used is library research, involving an in-depth analysis of Church documents, academic literature, and relevant studies related to contextual liturgy and cultural inculturation. The findings indicate that Sacrosanctum Concilium provides a strong theological foundation for liturgical renewal and openness to local cultural values. Liturgical inculturation in East Barito is manifested through the use of local languages, traditional music, indigenous symbols, and local architecture in the celebration of the liturgy, which deepens the participation of the faithful and strengthens their identity as Dayak Catholics. However, the study also reveals challenges such as the risk of syncretism, superficial understanding of cultural symbols, and differing interpretations between the faithful and Church leaders. Therefore, continuous liturgical formation and intercultural dialogue are necessary so that inculturation does not remain merely aesthetic but truly becomes a means of evangelization and an encounter with Christ who is present within Dayak culture. This research is expected to serve as a reference for developing catechetical and pastoral inculturation in the Indonesian Catholic Church.

Abstract

The established tolerance in the religiously moderate village of Sidodadi and Gajahrejo in South Malang is a result of the previous conflicts between different community groups regarding the interpretation of sacrificial animal blood and the challenges faced by minority groups of the Protestant faith in constructing places of worship. This article aims to describe the efforts made by the religiously moderate community in preserving and promoting religious tolerance within society. The descriptive qualitative method was employed, utilizing interview, observation, and documentation techniques. The study's findings indicate that tolerance in the religiously moderate village has been established and sustained due to the community's acceptance of religious pluralism, the cultivation of tolerance through formal and informal education, and the preservation of the Bari'an tradition to foster interfaith tolerance. In conclusion, tolerance has become an integral part of the community in the religiously moderate village, as the community works collectively to ensure that tolerance is effectively implemented, thus embodying the values of Pancasila and creating a harmonious and balanced society. AbstrakToleransi yang terjalin sangat baik di kampung moderasi beragama Desa Sidodadi dan Gajahrejo Malang Selatan memiliki latar belakang percekcokan antarkelompok masyarakat terkait perbedaan pemaknaan darah hewan qurban dan kesulitan membangun rumah ibadat bagi kelompok minoritas yang beragama Protestan. Tujuan penulisan artikel ini adalah mendeskripsikan upaya yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat kampung mode-rasi beragama dalam menjaga dan melestarikan toleransi beragama dalam masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif, dengan teknik wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil Kajian memperlihatkan bahwa toleransi di kampung moderasi beragama dapat terbangun dan tetap lestari sampai saat ini, karena masyarakat menerima pluralisme agama, menanamkan toleransi dalam pendidikan formal dan informal, dan melestarikan tradisi Bari’an sebagai wadah untuk menjalin toleransi antaragama. Dari Kamian dapat disimpulkan bahwa toleransi telah menjadi bagian integral dalam masyarakat di kampung moderasi beragama, karena masyarakat bahu membahu mengusahakan berbagai cara agar toleransi dapat diimplementasikan dengan baik, untuk  mengejawantahkan nilai Pancasila sehingga tercipta masyarakat yang hidup dalam harmoni dan berimbang.
