Abstract

The church is a living community of believers gathered by Christ into a "flock". Shepherding people in the Church has an important meaning as part of the pastoral tradition from the time of Jesus to the present. The task of shepherding comes from the mandate of Jesus himself as the Good Shepherd. Shepherding is considered important in meeting the spiritual and material needs of the people as well as maintaining togetherness and brotherhood in the Church community. Writing this article uses a descriptive qualitative approach using the library study method which is carried out by collecting various writings, both in print media, theses, articles, journals, papers, etc. that are relevant to the material discussed in this article. Furthermore, the shepherding of the people is manifested in pastoral presence, where the presence of the shepherd in the midst of the people becomes a symbol of Christ's presence and provides attention, care and love to the people. The synodal church which was revived by Pope Francis was highlighted as a movement to create a community that walks together towards salvation, with the active participation of all people and the important role of pastoral officers as representatives of Christ who guide and accompany the people. In conclusion, shepherding and pastoral presence play a vital role in guiding, maintaining and strengthening the faith and brotherhood of people in the Church community who walk together towards the salvation promised by the Father.

Abstract

This article explores the role of caregivers in fostering independence among children with special needs at Bhakti Luhur Putra Dormitory. The study focuses on parenting strategies that enhance self-care abilities, which are crucial for improving these children's quality of life and social integration. Despite existing studies on caregiving for children with disabilities, limited attention has been given to institutional settings where personalized care and empowerment-based approaches are applied. This study uses a qualitative research methodology, utilizing interviews, observations, and document analysis to collect data from eleven Bhakti Luhur Putra Dormitory caregivers. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participant observations, and document analysis involving eleven caregivers with significant experience. The findings highlight that emotional support, structured training, and personalized care are vital strategies for promoting independence. These approaches foster children's confidence, encourage self-reliance, and help them integrate into broader social environments. This research provides practical insights for improving caregiving practices in institutional contexts. It contributes to the literature by offering a focused understanding of how specific caregiving strategies impact the autonomy of children with special needs. Recommendations include integrating emotional intelligence and structured independence training into caregiver development programs for better developmental outcomes. The study also highlights the importance of adapting care strategies to meet the unique needs of each child, ensuring long-term benefits for their personal growth and social participation.

Abstract

Pastoral entrepreneurship is an innovative approach that integrates spiritual values with efforts to empower the people's economy. The Catholic Church uses this concept to help people become financially independent, strengthen community solidarity, and increase prosperity based on Gospel values. This research explores the application of the 7 Steps of Pastoral Work, from introduction to evaluation, which enable the Church to plan and manage entrepreneurship programs systematically. By using the library study method, researchers try to collect literary sources such as Church documents, scientific articles, and books that are relevant to the research, then integrate certain themes to draw conclusions. The results show that pastoral entrepreneurship contributes significantly to increasing people's income, creating jobs, and strengthening spiritual values. However, its implementation faces challenges, such as limited resources, lack of entrepreneurial skills, and people's resistance to change. To overcome these obstacles, a strategic approach, ongoing training and cooperation between parties is needed. By integrating economic and spiritual aspects, pastoral entrepreneurship has the potential to be an effective means for the Church to empower people as a whole and create sustainable prosperity in the community.

Abstract

Religion has an important role in the lives of Indonesian society as a social institution that functions to maintain social stability. Amidst the diversity of cultures, languages, traditions and religions, conflict and intolerance often arise as challenges to the role of religion in society. Conflict situations that occur due to differences in religious views or understanding often become obstacles to carrying out the role of religion as a social institution. This research aims to examine the concept of religious moderation as an effort to overcome social conflict and discrimination in relation to the role of religion as a social institution. Using qualitative descriptive methods and literature study techniques, this research analyzes themes related to religious moderation and the role of religion from various literary sources so that conclusions can be drawn regarding the role of religion which tries to carry out its function through religious moderation in Indonesia. The research results show that although religion, which is a community belief system, has a significant role in instilling social values, rigid traditional views often hinder inclusiveness and tolerance. This traditional view hinders the implementation of religious moderation which aims to create social harmony, so that religion as a social institution cannot carry out its role. Therefore, the concept of religious moderation needs to be developed as an implementation of the role of religion so that society can live in peace.
