Abstract

This study aims to: 1) determine the effect of the Utilization of Laboratory Media on Learning Outcomes of Grade VIII Students in Science Subjects at Batu Putih State Middle School. 2) determine the effect of motivation on the learning outcomes of Class VIII students in science subjects at Batu Putih Public Middle School. 3) determine the effect of the use of laboratory media and motivation on the learning outcomes of Class VIII students in science subjects at Batu Putih Public Middle School. This study uses a quantitative approach to the regression model because the research results are quantitative data on the Effect of the Utilization of Laboratory Media and Motivation on Learning Outcomes of Class VIII Students in Science Subjects. The results showed that the use of Laboratory Media had an effect of 65.0% and count> table (3.629 > 1.985) and value its significance < ɑ (0.000 < 0.05), it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between Laboratory Media on student learning outcomes. For the variable motivation has an effect of 65.0% with a value of count> t table (4.878 > 1.985) and value significance < ɑ (0.000 < 0.05), it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between Laboratory Media and Motivation on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Abstrak: Kompetensi profesional, merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang harus dimiliki guru dalam mendesain pembelajaran geografi. Pendidik yang profesional adalah pendidik yang selalu memperbaiki dan meningkatkan kompetensinya dalam proses pembelajaran sehingga diharapkan proses dan hasil pembelajaran yang bermutu. Upaya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan profesionalnya melalui pelatihan penyusunan modul ajar dan pembelajaran berdeferensiasi kurikulum merdeka belajar pada MGMP geografi kabupaten Alor. Adapun tujuan dari pelatihan ini adalah 1) meningkatkan kemampuan guru geografi pada MGMP geografi di kabupaten Alor dalam mendesain modul ajar dan pembelajaran deferensiasi kurikulum merdeka belajar. 2) Meningkatkan pemahaman guru geografi dalam menyusun modul ajar geografi dan pembelajaran berdeferensiasi kurikulum merdeka belajar pada MGMP Geografi di Kabupaten Alor. Peserta yang diikutsertakan dalam pelatihan ini sebanyak 20 orang guru geografi yang tergabung dalam MGMP geografi Kabupaten Alor. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelatihan ini adalah metode ceramah,diskusi, latihan,dan tes. Hasil yang diperoleh dari pelatihan ini adalah lebih dari 70 persen peserta telah memahami cara menyusun modul ajar geografi dan mampu mendesain pembelajaran berdeferensiasi kurikulum merdeka belajar.Abstract: Professional competence is one of the abilities that teachers must have in designing geography learning. Professional educators are educators who always improve and improve their competence in the learning process so that quality learning processes and outcomes are expected. Efforts to improve their professional abilities through training in the preparation of teaching modules and independent learning curriculum deferred learning at MGMP geography Alor district. The objectives of this training are 1) to improve the ability of geography teachers at the geography MGMP in Alor district in designing teaching and learning modules for the differentiation of the independent learning curriculum. 2) Improving the understanding of geography teachers in compiling geography teaching modules and decentralized learning of the independent learning curriculum at the Geography MGMP in Alor Regency. The participants who participated in this training were 20 geography teachers who are members of the Alor Regency geography MGMP. The methods used in this training are lectures, discussions, exercises, and tests. The results obtained from this training are that more than 70 percent of the participants have understood how to compile geography teaching modules and are able to design independent learning curriculum differential learning.

Abstract

Abstrak: Bencana cuaca ekstrem yang dipicu siklon tropis Seroja telah berdampak luar biasa kepada masyarakat Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT). Pada awal April 2021 lalu BMKG merilis adanya dua bibit siklon tropis yang dapat berdampak pada cuaca ekstrem. Salah satunya siklon tropis 99S yang kemudian dikenal luas sebagai Siklon Seroja. Upaya mitigasi bencana perlu di sampaikan kepada masyarakat terutama pada siswa sekolah dasar. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan wawasan umum terkait sadar bencana dan pemahaman mengenai pentingnya literasi kebencanaan dan spesifikasi cara pencegahan (pra bencana), menanggulangi (pasca bencana) serta evakuasi mandiri (tanggap darurat) yang dapat dilakukan oleh siswa sekolah dasar. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kontekstual berbantuan media booklet. Untuk mengetahui peningkatan belajar siswa, siswa diarahkan untuk mengerjakan soal pre-test dan post-test. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa tingkat literasi terkait mitigasi bencana bagi siswa SD Inpres Kuanheum masih kurang. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan adanya hasil evaluasi kegiatan yang menunjukkan siswa belum terbekali dengan edukasi mitigasi yang cukup. Penggunaan media berupa booklet ringkas inovatif sesuai untuk diterapkan bagi siswa sekolah dasar SD Inpres Kuanheum untuk menggugah ketertarikan dalam membaca dan belajar. Edukasi literasi mitigasi bencana harus diimbangi dengan integrasi dalam materi pelajaran formal di sekolah dan pembiasaan secara berkelanjutan. Abstract:  The extreme weather disaster triggered by tropical cyclone Seroja has had a tremendous impact on the people of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). In early April 2021, BMKG released two tropical cyclones that could have an impact on extreme weather. One of them was tropical cyclone 99S which became widely known as Cyclone Seroja. Disaster mitigation efforts need to be conveyed to the community, especially to elementary school students. This community service activity aims to provide general insights related to disaster awareness and understanding of the importance of disaster literacy and specifications on how to prevent (pre-disaster), overcome (post-disaster) and self-evacuation (emergency response) that can be carried o ut by elementary school students. The method used is a contextual method assisted by the media booklet. To find out the improvement of student learning, students are directed to do pre-test and post-test questions. The results of the activity showed that the level of literacy related to disaster mitigation for students of SD Inpres Kuanheum was still lacking. This is shown by the results of the evaluation of activities that show that students have not been equipped with sufficient mitigation education. The use of media in the form of innovative concise booklets is suitable to be applied to elementary school students of SD Inpres Kuanheum to arouse interest in reading and learning. Disaster mitigation literacy education must be balanced with integration in formal subject matter in schools and ongoing habituation.

Abstract

This study aims to examine: (1) the differences in learning outcomes between students with high and low learning interest, (2) the differences in learning outcomes between the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model integrated with Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and the PjBL model alone, and (3) the interaction between learning interest and the PjBL model integrated with SEL on students' learning outcomes. The research employed a 2x2 factorial experimental design with a population of 394 students from SMA Negeri 6 Kupang. A total of 77 students were selected using non-probability sampling through purposive sampling techniques. Data were analyzed using two-way ANOVA at a 5% significance level. The results revealed that: (1) there was a significant difference in learning outcomes based on learning interest (Fcalculated = 15.521 > Ftable = 3.972), with students who had high learning interest achieving better outcomes; (2) there was a significant difference in learning outcomes between the PjBL-SEL model and the PjBL-only model (Fcalculated = 22.302 > Ftable = 3.972), with the PjBL-SEL model proving to be more effective; and (3) a significant interaction was found between learning interest and the instructional model on learning outcomes (Fcalculated = 9.075 > Ftable = 3.972), indicating that the integration of SEL within the PjBL model can optimally enhance learning outcomes, particularly among students with high learning interest. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) perbedaan hasil belajar antara peserta didik dengan minat belajar tinggi dan rendah, (2) perbedaan hasil belajar antara model Pembelajaran Berbasis Proyek (PjBL) terintegrasi Pembelajaran Sosial Emosional (PSE) dan PjBL saja, serta (3) interaksi antara minat belajar dan model PjBL terintegrasi PSE terhadap hasil belajar. Penelitian menggunakan desain eksperimen faktorial 2x2 dengan populasi 394 siswa SMA Negeri 6 Kupang, dan sampel 77 siswa yang dipilih melalui non probably sampling dengan purposive sampling. Data dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA dua jalur dengan taraf signifikansi 5%. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa: (1) terdapat perbedaan signifikan hasil belajar berdasarkan minat belajar (Fhitung = 15,521 > Ftabel = 3,972), di mana peserta didik dengan minat belajar tinggi memperoleh hasil lebih baik; (2) terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara model PjBL-PSE dan PjBL saja (Fhitung = 22,302 > Ftabel = 3,972), dengan PjBL-PSE terbukti lebih efektif; dan (3) terdapat interaksi signifikan antara minat belajar dan model pembelajaran terhadap hasil belajar (Fhitung = 9,075 > Ftabel = 3,972) yang mengindikasikan bahwa penerapan PjBL terintegrasi PSE secara optimal dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar, terutama pada peserta didik dengan minat belajar tinggi.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the causes of the crisis of trust in government from a postmodernist perspective, referring to Michel Foucault's concepts of governmentality and biopolitics. The central research question explores how power, as expressed through public policy discourse, can impact government legitimacy, particularly during global crises. A qualitative approach is used, employing critical philosophical analysis of Foucault's texts, with case studies on pandemic policies and the use of surveillance technology. The findings reveal that the decline in public trust is not only due to administrative failures but also due to the way governments manage policy discourse in ways that are opaque and manipulative. Based on these findings, the study suggests that governments should adopt more transparent and participatory policy approaches, increasing public involvement in decision-making processes to strengthen the legitimacy of the government, which has been undermined.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini yakni, 1) untuk mengetahui perilaku pedagang dalam penanganan sampah yang ditinjau dari faktor predisposisi,  2) untuk mengetahui perilaku pedagang dalam penanganan sampah yang ditinjau dari faktor pemungkin dan 3) untuk mengetahui perilaku pedagang dalam penanganan sampah yang ditinjau dari faktor penguat di pasar Inpres Waiwerang Kecamatan Adonara Timur Tahun 2023. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif, dimana jenis penelitian ini yang syarat dengan nuansa angka - angka dalam teknik pengumpulan data di lapangan. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian mengenai perilaku pedagang dalam penanganan sampah di pasar Inpres Waiwerang Kecamatan Adonara Timur Kabupaten Flores Timur Tahun 2023 menyatakan bahwa (1) di tinjau dari faktor  predisposing,  berdasarkan tiga parameter yaitu pengetahuan masuk dalam kategori tidak baik dengan persentase 72,05%, sikap masuk dalam kategori baik dengan persentase 52,94%, dan tindakan pedagang dalam penanganan sampah masuk dalam kategori tidak baik dengan persentase 63,97%. (2) ditinjau dari  faktor kemungkinan (enabling factor) pedagang pasar Inpres Waiwerang dalam penanganan sampah masuk dalam kategori tidak baik dengan persetan 66,18%. (3) ditinjau dari faktor penguat (reinfoching factor) pedagang pasar Inpres dalam penanganan sampah masuk dalam kategori tidak baik dengan persentase 50,74%.

Abstract

This study stems from the challenges students face in understanding geometry concepts, particularly circles, due to abstract instruction and limited real-life context. To address this issue, mathematics teaching materials were developed based on ethnomathematics by integrating the Lodok system a traditional radial land division system practiced by the Manggarai people of East Nusa Tenggara as a culturally rich and geometrically relevant local context. The study aimed to identify geometric concepts embedded in the Lodok system and to develop teaching materials that integrate these local wisdom elements to enhance students’ conceptual understanding and character development. The research employed the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) and a qualitative approach. The Define stage involved literature review, field observation, and interviews with traditional leaders to formulate learning objectives and develop the material framework. The Design stage produced an initial draft of the Lodok-based teaching material, validated by subject matter experts and education practitioners. The Develop stage included a trial with 32 eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 12 Kupang to assess practicality and preliminary effectiveness, while the Disseminate stage was conducted with 28 students at SMP Negeri 1 Cibal, a culturally representative Lodok site, to evaluate final effectiveness. Validation results confirmed the teaching material was highly appropriate; practicality tests indicated it was user-friendly, engaging, and aided conceptual understanding; and effectiveness tests revealed that over 85% of students achieved mastery in circle-related concepts, which were linked to Lodok components such as langang, banta, cicing, and moso. Beyond cognitive gains, the integration of Lodok also strengthened student character, particularly in justice, cooperation, and cultural appreciation. The study concludes that the developed material is valid, practical, and effective, and recommends the adoption of ethnomathematics approaches in other culturally rich regions to bridge formal mathematics with students’ lived realities. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kesulitan siswa dalam memahami konsep geometri, khususnya lingkaran, akibat pembelajaran yang abstrak dan minim konteks nyata. Untuk menjawab tantangan ini, peneliti mengembangkan bahan ajar matematika berbasis etnomatematika dengan mengangkat sistem Lodok  (pembagian lahan khas masyarakat Manggarai, Nusa Tenggara Timur) sebagai konteks lokal yang sarat nilai geometris dan budaya. Fokus permasalahannya adalah bagaimana mengembangkan bahan ajar elemen Geometri Topik Lingkaran berbasis Etnomatematika pada sistem Lodok di masyarakat Manggarai. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan bahan ajar elemen Geometri Topik Lingkaran berbasis Etnomatematika pada sistem Lodok di masyarakat Manggarai guna meningkatkan pemahaman dan karakter siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah model pengembangan 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) serta pendekatan kualitatif. Tahap define meliputi studi literatur, observasi, dan untuk merumuskan tujuan dan kisi-kisi bahan ajar. Tahap design menghasilkan draf awal bahan ajar yang divalidasi oleh ahli dan praktisi. Tahap develop dilakukan melalui uji coba pada 32 siswa SMP Negeri 12 Kupang, sedangkan tahap disseminate diterapkan pada 28 siswa SMP Negeri 1 Cibal untuk menilai efektivitas di lingkungan budaya Lodok. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahan ajar sangat layak, uji kepraktisan menunjukkan bahan ajar praktis atau mudah digunakan dan membantu pemahaman konsep lingkaran yang diintegrasikan dengan unsur Lodok seperti langang, banta, cicing, dan moso, sementara uji efektivitas menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman 96,87 %  pada tahap uji coba dan 100 % pada tahap diseminasi. Selain peningkatan kognitif, integrasi sistem Lodok juga menguatkan karakter siswa, terutama nilai keadilan, gotong royong, dan penghargaan budaya lokal. Simpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar berbasis Etnomatematika yang dikembangkan layak, praktis, dan efektif, serta merekomendasikan pendekatan Etnomatematika di daerah lain untuk menjembatani matematika formal dengan realitas budaya lokal.

Abstract

Reclamation of ex-mining land is an obligation that must be carried out by every mining business actors, in order to organize, restore, and improve the quality of the environment and ecosystem so that it can function again according to its designation. However, this obligation has not been carried out consistently by manganese mining companies in West Timor. Based on the results of supervision carried out by mining inspectors, no company has carried out reclamation. This study aims to identify factors that influence the implementation of reclamation governance for ex-mining manganese land in West Timor. Case studies were conducted on eigth location of Izin Usaha Pertambangan (IUP) in West Timor, East Nusa Tenggara Province. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires, interviews, and field observations. Furthermore, data analysis used qualitative descriptive methods. The results of the study indicate that the inhibiting factors for achieving successful reclamation of ex-mining land in West Timor are the licensing process, supervision, competence of mining business actors, and community involvement. In this regard, further research is needed to examine the form of reclamation that is in accordance with the conditions of ex-mining manganese land in West Timor.
