Abstract

Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) This is an infectious disease characterized by the growth and multiplication of bacteria in the urinary tract. The most common etiology in more than 80% of uncomplicated UTI cases is Escherichia coli, and less than 50%, Proteus spp, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterobacter spp, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus, and Enterococcus. Candida species are a common cause of urinary tract infection in patients with severe chronic catheterization. The clinical forms of UTI are classified according to age, intensity of inflammatory response, and location of urinary tract infection. Children aged 2 months to 2 years with a UTI require special attention because they are likely to have atypical clinical presentations, invasive urine specimen collection, and kidney injury. This study aims to determine the dosage and composition of the antibiotic ciprofloxacin in patients with urinary tract infections at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital for the period November-December 2021. The method used is a descriptive assessment because it aims to provide an objective picture or description of the situation. Data collection was carried out retrospectively. Both research by reviewing historical information, as well as data collection by observing the medical records of urinary tract infection patients at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital in 2021

Abstract

People today complain with dandruff accompanied by itching will cause a lack of confidence because of the unpleasant smell and reduce the beauty of the hair. Andaliman is a plant that grows a lot in the Toba Samosir area which is usually used as a spice for cooking. Examination of secondary metabolite compounds contained in these natural materials is the main thing that is important to do. In other studies, andaliman has been studied to provide antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory effects. The test method is carried out using the High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Method and the minimum inhibitory concentration test using the diffusion method in order to use paper backups with several variations in test concentration. This is related to the content of secondary metabolites such as flavonoids, terpene alkaloids, benzophenthridine alkaloids, pyranoquinoline alkaloids, quaternary isoquinoline alkaloids, aporphyrine alkaloids, essential oils and several types of lignin. Flavonoids are secondary metabolites of polyphenols found in many plants and have a variety of biological effects including antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant. Quercetin to derivative active compounds The test results of the minimum inhibitory concentration of the extract showed an average inhibitory power of 17.26 mm at a concentration of 80% and EEAD quercetin levels with a concentration of 6.25; 12,5; 25; 50; and 100 ?g/ml contains quercetin percentages of 143.5, 242.15, 395.12, 865.2, and 1134.12 ?g/ml.

Abstract

The incidence of infections that attack the body's immunity is a major problem in various Country. In 2019, Indonesia was shocked by the occurrence of Coronavirus infection that requires an immediate therapeutic approach. The infection attacks the body's immunity in biological and physiologically there are defense mechanisms that can protect body. Indonesia has abundant biodiversity and become an opportunity in the exploration of natural medicinal ingredients. Guazuma ulmifolia Lamk. is a type of plant and a parasite that is widely found in the highlands and is widely found in Janji Maria Village, North Tapanuli Regency Traditionally, it used for overweight, cholesterol, cancer therapy by boiling and drink it. This study purpose to analyze the activity of extract on IL-1 and IL-2 levels using male rats as test animals by the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The method used is experimentally by measuring IL-1 and IL-2 levels in serum isolated from blood rats that have been given Guazuma ulmifolia Lamk. extract. Guazuma ulmifolia Lamk. extract at doses of 50, 100, 200, and 400 mg/kgBW and quercetin as a marker agent. The levels of IL-1 and IL-2 also increased following treatment with Guazuma ulmifolia Lamk. Extract and quercetin in both groups as compared to the negative control group. The extract at dose of 400 mg/kg BW and quercetin showed higher immunostimulatory activity than levamisole as a positive control. It was concluded that Guazuma ulmifolia Lamk. exhibit immunomodulatory activity, acting as immunostimulatory agent and has potential to be developed as a therapeutic agent.
