Abstract

This study analyzes the queuing system at XYZ fast food restaurant in Batam City to improve service efficiency and customer satisfaction. Observations were conducted over eight hours on Saturday, April 6th, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Data collected included arrival patterns, service time, and customer wait time. Using the queuing model [M/G/2/FIFO/4/∞], it was found that two servers are optimal. The average customer wait time in the system is 4.938 minutes, which is lower than the customer's aspirational wait time of 10 minutes. The system's utility reached  84.33%, indicating sufficient efficiency. Practical recommendations for XYZ fast food restaurant management are to maintain two servers to reduce wait time and increase customer satisfaction.

Abstract

Analisis bivariat menunjukkan adanya major areas of strength for a hubungan dengan koefisien hubungan sebesar 0,656 antara lamanya penggunaan perangkat dan tingkat ketajaman mata. Abstract

Unpredictable weather changes often complicate the process of drying clothes, especially when sudden rainfall occurs. To address this issue, an automatic clothes drying system was designed based on the Arduino Uno microcontroller, utilizing a Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) sensor and a rain sensor. The LDR sensor detects sunlight intensity, while the rain sensor identifies the presence of rain. When sufficient sunlight is detected and no rain is present, the system activates a DC motor to automatically extend the clothesline. Conversely, if rain is detected or sunlight intensity decreases, the DC motor retracts the clothesline into a sheltered area. The objectives of this research are to (1) Protect clothes from getting wet due to sudden rainfall; (2) Optimize the drying process by utilizing sunlight intensity; (3) Reduce manual intervention in the drying process, providing convenience for users who are frequently away from home. System testing demonstrated that the device effectively responds to weather changes, thereby protecting clothes from rain and maximizing drying during sunny conditions. This system offers a practical solution for users concerned about the state of their laundry when they are not at home.

Abstract

One of the most common products grown by many in North Sumatra, especially Karo Regency, is coffee. This plant can bring in foreign exchange, making it a valuable plantation item in the Karo Regency's local economy. Despite the industry's high production and farmers' favorable experiences, soil erosion and water scarcity on agricultural land pose sustainability challenges. This occurs due to farmers needing more technical expertise or real-world post-harvest processing experience. Simultaneously, the Circular Economy (CE) notion is becoming more popular due to its capacity to improve sustainable development. By further utilizing waste to create an alternative product, this research aims to apply CE to the Karo coffee supply chain to increase sustainable elements, specifically social and economic, and lessen its environmental impact. Aside from that, utilizing the Soft System Methodology approach, adjustments must be made to policies or management practices in order to facilitate the deployment of CE. When implementing CE ideas in the agriculture supply chain, Soft System Methodology can help identify issues from the viewpoints of different supply chain actors. The investigation's findings indicate that there is a chance to apply CE to the Karo coffee supply chain. The rise in economic value resulting from utilizing and reprocessing the generated garbage into substitute items is evidence of this, with total sales increasing from Rp 1.130.400.000 to Rp 1.229.350.000 after CE implementation.
