Abstract

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a condition characterised by anomalies in insulin production, action, or both, which result in hyperglycemia and insufficient management of blood glucose levels. Patients, their families, and the healthcare system must bear a heavy burden when it comes to the long-term management of diabetes mellitus (DM) via medication and lifestyle changes. To lower the prevalence of diabetes, especially in rural regions, this project aims to explore the possibility of incorporating the Family- Centered Empowerment Model (FCEM) into a digital application. Using a literature review technique, this study gathered information from books, articles from relevant organizations, and journal publications. The search was conducted using keywords like Empowerment, Family, Diabetes, Telehealth, and FCEM to find sites that fit the inclusion requirements. According to the findings, the FCEM intervention significantly improves quality of life, psychological management, physical activity, and health education in addition to encouraging lifestyle changes. Additionally, it raises health literacy, which boosts psychological support, increases adherence to blood sugar management, and lessens disease-related anxiety.

Abstract

iabetes Mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by insufficient insulin production or ineffective utilization of insulin, resulting in elevated blood glucose levels. The prevalence of Diabetes Mellitus continues to rise annually, highlighting the urgent issue of inadequate blood sugar control among diabetic patients. Ineffective management of blood glucose levels poses significant risks for complications and adversely affects the quality of life of individuals with diabetes. This article employs a literature review methodology to explore the potential of rehabilitation management for diabetic patients. A comprehensive literature search was conducted across various databases, including Google Scholar, Science Direct, PubMed, and ProQuest. The search utilized keywords such as "Diabetes Mellitus," "Theory of Planned Behavior," "Rehabilitation of Diabetic Patients," and "Telehealth." The inclusion criteria encompassed publications in both Indonesian and English languages from 2016 to 2021. Eligible publications were identified and analyzed using the PRISMA method for synthesis. Rehabilitation interventions for diabetic patients focus on utilizing resources available within the home environment. These interventions have demonstrated a significant impact on various aspects of lifestyle, including physical activity, medication adherence, health education, and psychological support. Furthermore, telehealth has emerged as an effective medium for delivering remote health interventions, facilitating improved patient engagement and outcomes. In the context of the Social 5.0 era, telehealth presents a promising alternative for home-based rehabilitation of diabetic patients. By leveraging patient resources, telehealth can enhance the effectiveness of diabetes rehabilitation care and improve overall health outcomes for individuals living with diabetes.

Abstract

Introduction: Stunting is a problem of malnutrition, recurrent infections, and inadequate psychosocial stimulation which causes disturbances in child development. Poor nutritional management in golden-age children is still a problem in many countries, including Indonesia. Management efforts are a challenge because the dissemination of information and education about stunting is not evenly distributed so awareness of nutrition management to prevent stunting is still low. This study aims to analyze and explain telehealth as e-parenting with the Family Centered-Care approach as an effective intervention in preventing stunting in the era of society 5.0. Method: The method in this study is to use a literature review. Articles are obtained through search sites such as Google Scholar, Science Direct, Scopus, NCBI, and ProQuest as well as books that are relevant to the topic. The criteria used in searching in Indonesian and English with the publication year range of 2018-2022 for journals then carried out analysis and synthesis using the PRISMA method. Results: The effectiveness of interventions provided via telehealth with a Family Centered-Care approach is oriented towards client resources at home, but remains under the supervision of health workers. This intervention significantly impacts lifestyle changes including physical activity, health education, and nutrition management. Conclusion: Telehealth can be a new alternative in the era of society 5.0 as an effort to cut time and mobilize more efficiently so that understanding and dissemination of information is wider and more equitable so that stunting can be prevented at an early age. Abstract

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) poses a significant public health challenge, especially in developing countries with limited healthcare resources. There is a critical need for community-based interventions (CBIs) to promote healthy lifestyles for individuals with T2DM. This study explores CBIs to improve health behavior among T2DM patients in developing countries. It systematically reviews articles from PubMed, Scopus, CENTRAL, and CINAHL databases. The search strategy employed specific keywords following the PRISMA Extension for Systematic Reviews. The quality of the included articles was appraised using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI). A narrative synthesis summarized the key findings across the selected articles. The inclusion criteria were full-text primary research reporting randomized controlled trials (RCTs) conducted in developing countries, focusing on community-based interventions, and published between 2014 and 2023. A review of twelve articles, with sample sizes ranging from 54 to 12,140 participants, explored interventions such as exercise, empowerment, peer support, and web-based programs. These interventions showed significant effectiveness: six articles reported improvement in health behavior, two in medical adherence, three in physical activity, four in positive attitudes, and two in quality of life (QoL). Five articles reported a consistent trend toward reduced HbA1c levels. This review highlights the potential of CBIs as effective strategies for addressing the complex challenges of T2DM in developing countries. Community health nurses may play a pivotal role in implementing and leading these interventions, particularly those involving technology-based approaches, to enhance self-care practices and improve glycaemic outcomes among individuals with T2DM.
