Abstract

ABSTRACT. The biological method for silver nanoparticle synthesis emphasizes green synthesis, which is faster, environmentally safer, facile, energy-efficient, and cost-effective. It provides good alternatives to physical and chemical methods. In this research, we have synthesized silver nanoparticles using D. vitifolius ethanolic extract. The 38 natural compounds of flavonoid, phenolic or polyphenol compositions have been determined by LC-MS/MS-QTOF which is carried out using UNIFI software equipped with a mass spectrum library of active substances from natural ingredients from the Waters database. Silver nanoparticle (Dv-AgNP) was characterized by using TEM and SEM where the average diameter of nanoparticle was seen <100 nm and confirmed by PSA analysis that the Z-average is 62.73 ± 0.71 nm. EDS spectrum confirmed the silver element as a major element of the particles. PI value of Dv-AgNP is 0.557, while the zeta potential is -17.37 ± 1.53 mV. Dv-AgNP can inhibit the growth of P. aeruginosa (amoxicillin resistant) with an inhibition zone of 15.83 ± 2.36 mm, and K. pneumoniae with an inhibition zone is 10.03 ± 0.55 mm. These are moderate inhibitory activities. The antioxidant result of the Dv-AgNP suspension solution shows that the IC50 is 0.58 mM. The IC50 of the crude extract is 752 ppm and is categorized as very weak antioxidant activity. Keywords: Antibacterial; D. vitifolius; silver nanoparticle.

Abstract

Tekelan leaves are known to have antioxidant activity therefore they can be developed into cosmetic products. The objective of this study was to develop a serum formulation from tekelan leaves extract and antioxidant test. Tekelan leaves extract was prepared by maceration with 96% ethanol. The 96% ethanol extract of tekelan leaves extract was made into 3 formulations with a variety of emollient ingredients, namely squalene, dimethicone and almond oil. Evaluation carried out on serum preparations included organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, viscosity, specific gravity, adhesion and stability tests. The extract yield was 25.40%. Testing for phytochemical content showed that the extract contained alkaloids, flavanoids, phenols, tannins, saponins and steroids. Evaluation results of the three serum formulas meet physical quality test requirement such as organoleptic, homogenity, pH, specific weight and viscosity but did not meet the adhesion test requirements. In addition, all three serum formulas showed very weak antioxidant activity.Bahasa Indonesia Abstract:Daun tekelan diketahui mempunyai aktivitas antioksidan sehingga dapat dibuat  menjadi sediaan kosmetik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membuat formulasi sediaan serum dari daun tekelan dan pengujian aktivitas antioksidan serum. Ekstrak daun tekelan dibuat dengan maserasi menggunakan etanol 96%. Ekstrak etanol 96% daun tekelan dibuat menjadi 3 formulasi dengan variasi bahan emolien yaitu squalene, dimethicone dan almond oil. Evaluasi yang dilakukan terhadap sediaan serum meliputi uji organoleptik, homogenitas, pH, viskositas, bobot jenis, daya lekat dan stabilitas. Hasil ekstrak yang diperoleh sebanyak 25,40%. Pengujian kandungan fitokimia menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak mengandung alkaloid, flavanoid, fenol, tanin, saponin dan steroid. Hasil evaluasi ketiga formula sediaan serum memenuhi persyaratan uji mutu fisik yaitu organoleptik, homogenitas, pH, bobot jenis dan viskositas tetapi tidak memenuhi syarat uji daya lekat. Selain itu, ketiga sediaan serum menunjukkan aktivitas antioksidan yang sangat lemah.

Abstract

The analytical method to determine the compound content in both food and cosmetic products must be carried out carefully to ensure the validity of the analysis results. Hydroquinone has been widely found to be used as an active whitening agent in whitening cream. Technological advances have led to illegal whitening creams becoming more accessible online. This study aims to examine the hydroquinone content in the whitening samples cream purchased from e-commerce by various analytical methods, such as FeCl3 reagent, cerimetric titration, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, and GC-MS spectrometer compared to the positive control hydroquinone. The results of the hydroquinone content by cerimetric titration and UV-Vis spectrophotometry methods were calculated quantitatively. Furthermore, the result compared through statistical tests showed a consistent hydroquinone content for both methods. Contrariwise, the GC-MS method showed negative results due to differences in the extraction process and solvent solubility. Based on the result obtained, can be concluded that all samples of whitening cream did not meet the requirements of BPOM No. 23 of 2019.

Abstract

Dispepsia memengaruhi kualitas hidup yang berhubungan dengan kesehatan. Pemberian terapi yang kurang efektif dalam mengontrol gejala dapat menjadikan dispesia kronis dan sering kambuh. Indonesia tahun 2019 menyatakan dispepsia dari proporsi penyakit terbanyak rawat jalan kloter haji di peringkat kesepuluh sebesar 2,54% (11.077) jumlah kasus. Tujuan penelitian adalah menggambarkan pola peresepan pasien rawat jalan diagnosis dispepsia periode Juli – Desember 2021 di Rumah Sakit X Kabupaten Tangerang. Metode penelitian non eksperimental deskriptif secara retrospektif berdasarkan data rekam medis dan resep pasien rawat jalan dengan total sampel 68 pasien. Hasil penelitian karakteristik 70,59% jenis kelamin paling banyak perempuan dan 25% usia paling banyak 46 – 55 tahun. Kesesuaian pola peresepan berdasarkan pedoman Penatalaksanaan di Bidang Ilmu Penyakit Dalam Panduan Praktis Klinis Tahun 2015 yang menjadi panduan di rumah sakit 28,57% dan formularium rumah sakit 57,14%. Terapi dispepsia obat tunggal sebanyak 10 pasien dengan pemberian obat omeprazole 20 mg (40%). Terapi obat kombinasi sebanyak 58 pasien yaitu kombinasi lanzoprazole 30 mg, antasida 500 mg, domperidone10 mg, dan sukralfat 500 mg/ 5mL (15,52%). Kesimpulan penelitian profil pasien dyspepsia paling banyak perempuan, usia 46 – 55 tahun dengan terapi obat tunggal daripada kombinasi.

Abstract

Self-medication or self-treatment is one way to treat diseases experienced without a doctor's prescription. Limited public knowledge about drugs can cause medication errors from drug selection, drug dosage and how to use drugs. Drug abuse and inappropriate drug use are often because the public does not get education or pharmacists give wrong drug recommendations. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of self-medication services by TTK at Pharmacy X, Tangerang City and the drug recommendations given. Quantitative research method with a prospective descriptive approach. Data were obtained through direct observation using a form on self-medication services by 6 TTK for 30 working days from February 1 to March 2, 2021. The sample consisted of 105 consumers who bought drugs without a doctor's prescription and the data was analyzed descriptively using Microsoft Excel with percentage calculations. The results of the study showed that consumer characteristics were dominated by men 55.24% and adults aged 26-45 years 46.67%. The implementation of self-medication that was not carried out 100% was the method of using drugs 55.23% and storing drugs 0%. The most common complaint was a dry cough in 20 cases (19.05%) accompanied by flu in 10 cases, colds in 6 cases, itchy throat in 3 cases and stomach ulcers in 1 caseInconsistency of drug recommendations occurred in complaints of dry cough, namely drugs containing guaifenesin indicated for phlegmy cough in 9 cases and phlegmy cough containing dextromethorphan HBr in 1 case which is an antitussive that can inhibit the cough reflex to expel phlegm. This shows a lack of understanding by TTK regarding the composition of drugs according to complaints and drug indications. TTK self-medication services need to be improved, especially aspects of drug storage education and drug recommendations based on complaints to minimize medication errors and improve the quality of pharmaceutical services at the community level.
