Abstract

The development of the capture fisheries business requires every company and fishery business actor, especially small scale fishermen, to compete and increase the catch from each of their business activities. So that the level of business feasibility is a criterion for investment or long-term investment in a particular production. The purpose of this study was to analyze the  handline busines with a vessel size of 2 GT -10 GT in the waters of the city of Kupang. The research method used is a survey method, determining respondents based on purposive sampling. Data collecting done by interview and observation. The data analysis used is descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis. 30 fishermen who owned handline boats with a size of 2-10 GT were used as the samples. The research was conducted in March - May 2023 at the Tenau Beach Fishing Port (PPP), Kupang city. The business analysis carried out is to look at the average investment costs, fixed costs, operational costs, income and profits of fishing business within 1 year. The results showed that the average investment cost was IDR 161,361,619/year, the total cost was IDR. 354,999,991, -/year total revenue of IDR. 891.066.667.-/year and the ship owner's profit was IDR. 536,066,676,-/year. Based on the results of the analysis, the R/C Ratio and B/C Ratio values are greater than ≥ 1, so it can be concluded that the 2-10 GT small handline fishing vessel business in the waters of Kupang city is profitable and feasible to develop.

Abstract

Abstrak - Eutrofikasi akan menyebabkan meledaknya populasi organisme tertentu sehingga dapat menimbulkan kematian beberapa organisme perairan, termasuk ekosistem terumbu karang. Tujuan mengetahui hubungan kondisi kualitas air terhadap tutupan karang di Pesisir Kelurahan Fatubesi dan Pasir Panjang, Kota Kupang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Pesisir Kelurahan Fatubesi dan Kelurahan Pasir Panjang Kecamatan Kota Lama Kota Kupang pada bulan Agustus 2023 Pengambilan data tutupan terumbu karang dilakukan dengan Point Intercept Transect (PIT) dengan panjang transek 2 x 25 m yang diletakkan pada kedalaman 3 meter dan 10 meter. Principal Components Analysis digunakan untuk melihat parameter - parameter lingkungan yang mempengaruhi tutupan karang pada suatu perairan. Hasil uji PCA yang dilakukan, tutupan karang memiliki korelasi positif dengan salinitas (0.676), kecerahan (0.676), kecepatan arus (0.618) dan DO (0.708). Sedangkan suhu, pH dan kekeruhan memiliki korelasi negative dengan tutupan karang yaitu masing-masing sebesar -0.526, -0.736 dan -0.494. Hasil Penelitian ini menjadi informasi bagi pemerintah dan masyarakat untuk melakukan pengelolaan yang baik melalui pengurangan buangan bahan organic ke badan perairan yang bersumber dari kegiatan yang dilakukan di daratan. Kata kunci : Eutrofikasi, terumbu karang, Principal Components Analysis Abstract - Eutrophication will cause an explosion in the population of certain organisms that can cause the death of some aquatic organisms, including coral reef ecosystems. The purpose of knowing the relationship of water quality conditions to coral cover in the Coastal Village of Fatubesi and Pasir Panjang, Kupang City. This research was conducted in the coastal area of Fatubesi Village and Pasir Panjang Village, Kota Lama Sub-district, Kupang City in August 2023. Data collection of coral reef cover was carried out by Point Intercept Transect (PIT) with a transect length of 2 x 25 m which was placed at a depth of 3 meters and 10 meters. Principal Components Analysis is used to see environmental parameters that affect coral cover in a body of water. The results of the PCA test conducted, coral cover has a positive correlation with salinity (0.676), brightness (0.676), current speed (0.618) and DO (0.708). while temperature, pH and turbidity have a negative correlation with coral cover which is -0.526, -0.736 and -0.494 respectively. The results of this study provide information for the government and the community to carry out good management through reducing the discharge of organic matter into water bodies sourced from activities carried out on land. Abstract

Penentuan komoditas ikan unggulan disuatu daerah merupakan langkah awal menuju pembangunan dan pengelolaan perikanan tangkap yang berpijak pada konsep efisiensi untuk meraih keunggulan komparatif dan kompetitif dalam menghadapi globalisasi perdagangan baik ditinjau dari sisi penawaran maupun permintaan, serta keunggulan daya saing tinggi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui komoditi perikanan kakap yang potensial dan menghitung potensi serta tingkat pemanfaatanya. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode survei dan observasi lapangan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dua tahap yaitu pengumpulan data primer di lapangan dengan pengamatan langsung dan data sekunder menggunakan kuesioner. Sumber data diperoleh berdasarkan informasi dari responden melalui wawancara dengan daftar pertanyaan atau kuesioner. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah menghitung produktifitas penangkapan dengan CPUE, menghitung Fishing Power Index (FPI) dan analisis potensi lestarai dan tingkat pemanfaatan (MSY dan Foptimum). Hasil penelitian menunjukan besarnya potensi lestari (MSY) ikan kakap (Lutjanus sp.) di perairan Manggarai Barat adalah sebesar 906 ton/tahun dengan upaya optimum (FOptimum) adalah 1.664 unit/tahun, jumlah tangkapan yang di ijinkan (JTB) adalah sebesar 80% dari MSY yaitu 725 ton/tahun dan tingkat pemanfaatan mencapai 100% (over exploited). Tingkat pemanfaatan potensi ikan kakap (Lutjanus sp) di Manggarai barat sejak tahun 2018 sampai 2019 telah melebihi JTB dari ikan kakap tersebut sehingga perlu adanya pembatasan jumlah upaya pemanfaatan agar dapat menjaga kelestarian ikan kakap (Lutjanus sp.) di Perairan Manggarai Barat.Determination of superior fish commodities in an area is the first step towards the development and management of capture fisheries based on the concept of efficiency to gain comparative and competitive advantages in the face of trade globalization both in terms of supply and demand, as well as high competitive advantage. The purpose of this study was to determine the potential snapper fishery commodity and calculate the potential and level of utilization. This research was conducted using survey methods and field observations. Data collection was carried out in two stages, namely primary data collection in the field by direct observation and secondary data using questionnaires. Sources of data obtained based on information from respondents through interviews with a list of questions or questionnaires. Data analysis used to calculate fishing productivity with CPUE, calculate Fishing Power Index (FPI) and analysis of sustainable potential and utilization rate (MSY and Foptimum). The results showed the magnitude of the sustainable potential (MSY) of snapper (Lutjanus sp.) in the waters of West Manggarai was 906 tons/year with the optimum effort (Foptimum) was 1,664 units/year, the number of allowable catches (JTB) was 80 % of MSY is 725 tons/year and the utilization rate reaches 100% (over exploited). The potential utilization rate of snapper (Lutjanus sp) in West Manggarai from 2018 to 2019 has exceeded the JTB of the snapper so it is necessary to limit the number of utilization efforts in order to maintain the sustainability of snapper (Lutjanus sp.) in West Manggarai waters. Suggestions in optimizing fishing effort or effort need to be analyzed first about the most effective, efficient and environmentally friendly fishing gear in the utilization of snapper resources.
