Abstract

Strenuous exercise can trigger an increase in pulse rate and lactic acid levels. Stress during exercise can secrete adrenaline so that your heart rate increases, and free radicals including lactic acid. This study aims to determine the effect of light and moderate-intensity aerobic exercise on lactic acid levels and pulse rate during exercise. The research carried out was a quasi-experimental research with a non-random repeat experiment design. Pulse rate and lactic acid levels were assessed before and after the exercise program in 3 groups, namely the light-intensity aerobic exercise (LAIR) treatment group, the moderate-intensity aerobic exercise (LAIS) group, and the control group. The research location is the Harapan Bangsa football stadium in Banda Aceh. The subject is Aceh Diaspora PPLP athlete. The training program was carried out for four weeks. The mean pulse rate and lactic acid levels of the three groups showed differences. A significant decrease in heart rate values after the training test was seen in the group with LAIS (p = 0.000). A significant decrease in lactic acid after the training test was seen in the group with LAIS (p= 0.04). The mean pulse rate of the three groups showed differences. An exercise program carried out with the right intensity, duration, and frequency can reduce increases in heart rate and lactic acid levels. This research shows that moderate-intensity aerobic exercise can reduce pulse rate and lactic acid levels so that it can slow down fatigue during exercise in Acehnese football athletes.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the concentrations of secondary metabolites in Carica papaya (papaya) leaves and their correlation with soil chemical properties in Aceh Besar. Purposive sampling was used to select papaya plant leaves from the Kajhu and Ie Seuum areas for this study. Soil samples were collected from where the papaya leaf samples were obtained. Utilization of the maceration technique for extracting papaya leaves and identifying secondary metabolite compounds via Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrophotometry (GCMS). The chromatogram results indicated that squalene and linolenic acid were the compounds with the highest percentages. At the same time, the soil samples were subsequently analyzed for N, P, K, C, pH, and temperature content. Subsequently, the acquired data were subjected to multiple regression analysis. The findings indicated that the squalene content was 3.2–3.35% in Kajhu and 10.4–10.5% in Ie Seum, whereas linolenic acid levels were 10.18–10.21% and 4.03–4.05%, respectively. The squalene content positively correlates with P, pH, and temperature, whereas linolenic acid correlates solely with the P elements. The chemical properties of the soil do not significantly influence the content of squalene and linolenic acid.

The team are conducted to help the elderly understand how to prevent and manage the illnesses they may encounter. Additional empowerment techniques involve performing health checks by monitoring vital signs, assessing blood glucose levels, and measuring oxygen saturation. The activities took place at the Luthu Lamweu meunasah, with participation from 25 elderly individuals. The health check-up results indicated that hypertension, and diabetes mellitus were the most prevalent conditions among the elderly in this village.

Abstract

The International Labor Organization (ILO) reports that 2 million people die in the workplace, one of the causes being overexertion. Herbal saunas are decoctions of plants with medicinal properties, including anti-fatigue. Warm steam applied to the skin helps dilate blood vessels, improving circulation. The purpose of this activity was to provide knowledge about various medicinal plants that can be used as herbal saunas and to provide community members with skills in making herbal saunas. The PKM method involved participation through outreach and mentoring women in preparing herbal saunas. The activity took place on July 27, 2025, in Alue Deah Teungoh Village, with 15 women participating in the Family Welfare Movement (PKK). The activity began with a pre-test and then a herbal sauna booklet. The results of this activity were an increase in the knowledge and skills of the PKK women, demonstrated by the resulting product, a dried herbal sauna packaged in a standing pouch. Participants were very enthusiastic about the training. The activity concluded with the use of herbal saunas, which were boiled in a steamer and the steam flowed into a portable sauna tent. Participants took turns using the sauna, which had been filled with the herbal sauna decoction.

Abstract

Chronic kidney failure (CKD) is a huge and increasing public health problem. One of the actions performed on CKD patients is hemodialysis. The quality of life of CKD patients is closely related to hemodialysis. However, hemodialysis is not a therapy for recovery. Hemodialysis is performed to maintain the life and well-being of the patient until kidney function is restored. This study aims to describe the quality of life in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis at Meuraxa Hospital, Banda Aceh City. This study used an observational method with a cross sectional approach. The number of samples is 58 respondents taken by using accidental sampling technique. The measurement of quality of life uses the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire. The results of this study showed that in terms of characteristics, the highest age was at the age of 56 to 65 years with 34 respondents (58.6%) and no respondents in the age range of 18 to 25 years. In terms of gender, the highest was female with 32 respondents (55.2%) and the lowest was male with 26 respondents (44.8%). In the quality of life of CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis at Meuraxa Hospital, Banda Aceh City, the highest was in the bad category, 32 respondents (55.2%) and the lowest was in the very good category, 1 respondent (1.7%).

Abstract

Kidney failure has become a serious problem for public health in the world. This population increase is due to the lack of public awareness of living a healthy lifestyle and the increasing incidence of diseases which are risk factors. The aim of this activity is to provide information in the form of education to the public regarding kidney failure. Method: This community service activity was carried out in the work area of the Simpang Tiga Health Center, Aceh Besar Regency. The number of participants was 30 people who were health cadres and community leaders. This activity includes counseling and discussion. The results of Community Service Activities (PKM) provide information and knowledge about kidney failure. Healthy living behaviors that are still not implemented include lack of exercise, consumption of instant food and packaged drinks. This habit has been understood by the public as a risk factor for kidney failure. Conclusion: Increased risk factors from a history of disease and less healthy living behavior need to be of concern to all related parties, namely individuals, community leaders/health cadres, and related government institutions, especially community health centers as primary health service locations that carry out promotive and preventive efforts. It is necessary to identify two historical diseases that are risk factors for kidney failure, namely diabetes mellitus and hypertension
