Abstract

Abstract

The lactic acid buildup has long been suspected as a cause of muscle fatigue. Lactate is a waste of anaerobic metabolism; this process takes place in the absence of oxygen. Blood pressure, pulse, and respiration are vital signs to monitor adaptation to fatigue levels. This study aims to determine the effect of aerobic exercise on the level of fatigue and vital signs in athletes. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a non-random re-experimental design. Lactic acid levels and vital signs were assessed before and after the exercise program in 3 groups, namely the light-intensity exercise treatment group, the moderate-intensity exercise group, and the control group. The research site is at the Harapan Bangsa football stadium in Banda Aceh. The subject of PPLP Dispora Aceh athletes. The exercise was carried out for four weeks. The average lactic acid levels of the three groups showed differences. A significant decrease in lactic acid after the training test was seen in the group with OAIS (p = 0.04). Exercise with the right intensity, duration, and frequency can reduce lactic acid levels and vital signs. Abstract

Background: The plant known as papaya leaf (Carica papaya L) is a plant that commonly grows in tropical areas and is often used by local residents as an alternative treatment method to prevent bacterial growth because papaya leaves (Carica papaya L) have a number of pharmacological properties , one of which is the ability to kill Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The aim of this research was to find out whether papaya leaf extract (Carica papaya L) could inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria and whether papaya leaf extract (Carica papaya L) had antibacterial activity on Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. Method: This study tested the ethanol extract of papaya leaves (Carica papaya L) against Staphhylococcus aureus bacteria using experimental laboratory methods. The collected data was analyzed using nonparametric statistical analysis known as ANOVA. Results: According to the results of phytochemical research, papaya leaves (Carica papaya L) contain alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, steroids and tannins. In papaya leaf extract which was tested against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, there was an effective inhibitory power of papaya leaf ethanol extract with concentrations of 25%, 50% and 75%, with a concentration of 25% obtained an average inhibition zone of 6.2 mm, a concentration of 50% obtained an inhibition zone. an average of 6.7 mm and a concentration of 75% obtained an average inhibition zone of 7.8 mm. Conclusion: Antibacterial studies of Staphylococcus aureus reveal that papaya leaf extract has a growth inhibitory effect on this bacteria. As the leaf extract concentration increases, a larger zone of inhibition is formed.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the concentrations of secondary metabolites in Carica papaya (papaya) leaves and their correlation with soil chemical properties in Aceh Besar. Purposive sampling was used to select papaya plant leaves from the Kajhu and Ie Seuum areas for this study. Soil samples were collected from where the papaya leaf samples were obtained. Utilization of the maceration technique for extracting papaya leaves and identifying secondary metabolite compounds via Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrophotometry (GCMS). The chromatogram results indicated that squalene and linolenic acid were the compounds with the highest percentages. At the same time, the soil samples were subsequently analyzed for N, P, K, C, pH, and temperature content. Subsequently, the acquired data were subjected to multiple regression analysis. The findings indicated that the squalene content was 3.2–3.35% in Kajhu and 10.4–10.5% in Ie Seum, whereas linolenic acid levels were 10.18–10.21% and 4.03–4.05%, respectively. The squalene content positively correlates with P, pH, and temperature, whereas linolenic acid correlates solely with the P elements. The chemical properties of the soil do not significantly influence the content of squalene and linolenic acid.

Abstract

The counseling and training activities carried out at the Montasik Health Center aim to increase insight and knowledge about the use of herbal plants in an effort to reduce stunting cases in the Montasik Health Center work area which can improve public health. Community service activities carried out by lecturers and students are a "community partnership empowerment" program granted by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education. Stunting cases in the Montasik Health Center work area are very high (261 stunting, 144 wasting, and 348 underweight children). Based on this, an intervention model is needed that can be applied by officers at the Montasik Health Center to mothers who have toddlers in preventing new stunting cases and increasing insight to increase the use of Moringa leaves as a source of high nutrition as a food additive for toddlers and children. The intervention model provided includes five food menus that are liked by toddlers and children, namely moringa meatballs, moringa ice cream, moringa nuggets, moringa noodles, moringa cookies. The results of this community service are expected to contribute to Montasik Health Center officers to implement a food menu intervention model with the addition of Moringa leaf flour to meet the nutritional needs of toddlers and children so that in the long term it can reduce stunting cases.
