Abstract

Careless disposal of livestock manure can lead to environmental pollution, thereby impacting the deterioration of the quality of the environment, the quality of life of the rancher and his livestock and triggering social conflicts. So this needs to be addressed by making livestock waste as compost fertilizer. This study aims to determine whether organadec bioactivators are effective against composting manure from goat manure and rice straw. The study was conducted during a 21-day observation period of goat manure and rice straw so that it became compost fertilizer. This study used an experimental method with 4 treatments and 4 repeat doses of organadec bioactivator against measurements of fertilizer levels consisting of Water Content, Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P), and Potassium (K). The results of the study showed that administration of orgadec gave results that did not differ markedly with respect to Water Content and Nitrogen content. But it differs markedly in the content of Phosphorus and Potassium. It can be concluded that organadec bioactivators can increase the nutrient content, namely the content of Moisture, Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium contained in composted organic fertilizers. Keywords: compost, orgadec, manure, goat, straw

Abstract

Pakan merupakan kebutuhan utama untuk ternak dikarenakan pakan mengandung zat-zat makanan untuk pertumbuhan dan produktivitas ternak itu sendiri. Keberhasilan suatu usaha peternakan tergantung pada pakan yang digunakan dan dimanfaatkan oleh ternak. Variabel terbesar dari total biaya produksi suatu usaha adalah biaya pakan yang dapat mencapai 70-80%. Menghindari biaya yang tinggi maka perlu dimanfaatkan limbah pertanian sebagai pakan ternak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan Indigofera terhadap kualitas fraksi serat fermentasi batang pisang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan lima perlakuan dan empat ulangan. Perlakuan yang diterapkan yaitu: P0= Batang pisang + 0% Indigofera, P1=  Batang pisang + 10% Indigofera, P2=  Batang pisang +  20% Indigofera, P3=  Batang pisang + 30% Indigofera, dan P4=  Batang pisang + 40% Indigofera. Parameter yang diukur yaitu kandungan Neutral Detregent Fiber (NDF), Acid Dteregent Fiber(ADF), dan hemiselulosa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan Indigofera terhadap kandungan NDF, ADF, dan hemiselulosa nyata dalam menurunkan kandungan kadar NDF, ADF, dan hemiselulosa batang pisang fermentasi. Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian adalah penambahan Indigofera sebanyak 40 % menghasilkan kualitas fermentasi batang pisang terbaik.

Abstract

The Human Development Index (HDI) is an important indicator to measure a country's progress in improving the welfare of its people. Compared to other Southeast Asian countries, Indonesia's HDI is still low. To improve Indonesia's HDI, the livestock sector, especially cattle breeding and fattening, can contribute significantly. ICMI (Indonesian Muslim Scholars Association) in collaboration with the Department of Agroindustry developed a high-quality and sustainable cattle breeding and fattening program. The goal of this collaboration is to improve cattle breeding and raising skills and support sustainable agricultural development. The solution of this collaboration is the improvement of participants' knowledge and skills on better livestock technology so as to increase the productivity and quality of beef cattle especially in Sijunjung Regency.
