Abstract

Background: Compliance of pregnant women in taking iron (Fe) tablets is an important factor in preventing pregnancy anemia. However, compliance rates are still low in some areas. An educational approach based on local culture such as SIPAKATAU (mutual respect in Bugis-Makassar culture) is considered to be able to increase the role of the family in supporting regular Fe consumption. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental design with a post-test only control group design approach. The sample consisted of 32 pregnant women who were randomly divided into two groups: the intervention group that was educated with the SIPAKATAU approach model and the control group that did not receive the education. Data analysis used Fisher's Exact Test and Odds Ratio (OR) tests. Results: Results showed that pregnant women who received education with the SIPAKATAU approach model had a 2.667 times higher compliance rate in taking Fe tablets compared to pregnant women who did not receive the education (p = 0.00; OR = 2,667). Conclusion: Education with the SIPAK approach model is effective in increasing the adherence of pregnant women in consuming Fe tablets. The application of this model is recommended for midwives to optimize the role of the family as companions and supervisors in iron supplementation programs during pregnancy.

Abstract

Abstract

Nutritional problems in toddlers remain a public health challenge, especially in areas with a high prevalence of stunting and malnutrition, such as Pangkep Regency. One of the interventions implemented by the government is the provision of supplementary feeding (PMT) made from local foods to improve the nutritional status of toddlers. This study aims to determine the effect of providing PMT made from local foods on the nutritional status of toddlers in the working area of the Minasatene Community Health Center, Pangkep Regency. This study used a quantitative design with a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest approach. The study was conducted in August 2025 with a sample of 49 toddlers who received PMT, using a total sampling technique. Data were collected by measuring body weight before and after the PMT intervention for 60 days, then analyzed using a paired t-test. The results showed an increase in toddler body weight after PMT administration, with a change in nutritional status from undernutrition and severe malnutrition to mostly normal nutrition. Statistical tests showed a significant difference between body weight before and after the intervention (p<0.05). It can be concluded that the provision of PMT made from local foods has a significant effect on improving the nutritional status of toddlers in the working area of the Minasatene Community Health Center, Pangkep Regency.

Abstract

The implementation of the Village Information System (SID) represents a strategic step in enhancing the quality of administrative services through the digitalization of population data management. Prior to the SID implementation, Aikmel Village encountered various obstacles, including non-digitalized data management and manual administrative processes, which led to potential delays and recording errors. This article aims to describe the implementation of an OpenSID-based system to support administrative service efficiency through the Community Service Program (KKN) of the University of Mataram. The methodology employed includes participatory observation, population data updating and digitalization, technical assistance for village officials, and the evaluation of correspondence services. The results demonstrate a significant transformation from the initial absence of a digital database to an integrated system with 9,499 successfully digitalized population records. The utilization of SID supports administrative services with an average of seven documents processed per workday, while simultaneously improving service time efficiency, digital archiving organization, and data access accuracy. The success of this implementation is influenced by the quality of data digitalization, infrastructure readiness, and the active involvement of village officials in system management. The implementation of SID contributes to the strengthening of data-based village administrative governance and holds sustainable potential in supporting transparency and more effective village development planning.
