Abstract

Abstract

This study investigates the postponement of the age of first marriage and its implications for population growth and demographic structure in North Sumatra Province. The research utilizes qualitative methods to obtain clear and in-depth information. It employs secondary data collected and published by other sources to analyze trends in delaying the age of first marriage and its impact on population growth. Findings indicate a significant trend of delaying first marriage, especially among youth, with an observed increase in 2023. Factors such as access to education, changes in social values, and economic conditions influence the decision to postpone marriage. This postponement affects fertility and population growth, potentially reducing the birth rate. However, despite the decline in birth rates, population growth continues due to factors such as migration. The study emphasizes the importance of considering various factors, including migration, in demographic analysis and development planning to accommodate the complex dynamics of the population and meet the needs of the community comprehensively.

Abstract

This research discusses determining the hierarchy of service centers in North Labuhanbatu Regency with a quantitative approach using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), Gravity Analysis, Scalogram and Centrality Index methods. The secondary data used was obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of North Labuhanbatu Regency. This approach provides objective results in determining the priorities of service centers in the region. The research results show that there is a level of diversity in facilities in each sub-district, with Kualuh Selatan sub-district having the most facilities. Apart from that, the frequency of the existence of facilities also influences the centrality index and determining the hierarchy of service centers. These findings provide insight for local governments in more effective and efficient development planning.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of population and GRDP on people's consumption levels in North Sumatra Province. This research uses a regression model using the Error Correction Model (ECM) method and uses secondary data. The research results show that Population and GRDP have a positive and significant impact on public consumption in the long term, but there is no significant impact in the short term. The regression model shows a positive relationship between the variables Population, GRDP, and Public Consumption. The classical assumptions of this model are met. This research provides important insights regarding economic development policies, sustainable population growth, and balanced GRDP growth. Factors such as income, unemployment and economic conditions also influence people's consumption patterns. Suggestions for further research are also suggested to gain a deeper understanding of the factors that influence public consumption in the region.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the relationship between Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) and Human Development Index (HDI) on the number of poor people in districts/cities in North Sumatra Province in the 2018-2022 period. GRDP and HDI are used as economic and social indicators to understand the impact of economic growth and human development on poverty levels. Poverty is caused by limited access to basic needs, education and employment opportunities. This research uses a quantitative approach with secondary data and E-Views 12 software for analysis. The results of the analysis show that GRDP has a positive and significant influence on the number of poor people, while HDI does not have a significant influence. Income distribution and government policies need to be considered to reduce inequality in income distribution and improve community welfare evenly.
