Abstract

The role of the state in politics is a very complex and interesting issue, especially because the concept of the state has varied meanings and interpretations among experts. Ibn Bājjah, also known as Avempace, was a Muslim philosopher and scientist from western Andalusia who lived in the 11th century. His contribution to Islamic political thought is mainly reflected in his work entitled "Tadbīr al-Mutawaḥḥid". In this work, Ibn Bājjah examines the concept of the state in two main categories: the perfect (ideal) state and the imperfect state. The aim of this research is to understand the concept of the state according to Ibn Bājjah's thoughts in the book "Tadbīr al-Mutawaḥḥid" so that it can serve as an inspiration from classical thinking to be applied in a modern context. This research uses a qualitative research model with a descriptive analytical library research approach. The conclusion of this research shows Ibn Bājjah's view of perfect and imperfect states. According to him, a perfect state is one that does not need doctors and judges because there are no conflicts, diseases, or legal problems. On the other hand, imperfect states need doctors (the art of medicine) and judges (the art of law) because there are still conflicts, diseases, and differences of opinion in society.

Abstract

Fruit flies ( Bactrocera spp.) represent a group of Plant Pests that can inflict both qualitative and quantitative losses. The utilization of chemical pesticides and the scarcity of Methyl Eugenol continue to pose significant challenges in agriculture. The abundant availability of Melada plants presents an opportunity for the development of an economically viable and environmentally friendly biological attractant. Encapsulation technology based on Maltodextrin and Gum Arabic (MD-GA) formulated with powdered simplicia of Melada leaves F1(02:10), F2(05:10), F3(10:10), and F4(12:10) is employed to enhance the slow-release resistance of volatile compounds. The surface oil content of the four formulations ranges from 0.3% to 9.6%. The encapsulation efficiency value for the four formulations ranges from 70% to 85%. The loading capacity value ranges from 0.7% to 1.3%. The yield value of microcapsule characteristics ranges from 63% to 82%. Morphological analysis reveals a decrease in the number of particles along with the combination of treatment formulations. The size of the microcapsules for the four formulations falls within the range of 201.2 µm–252.6 µm. The effectiveness of the resulting attractant can lure 19-185 fruit flies. The diversity of the fruit fly pest population obtained includes the Bactrocera umbrosa and Bactrocera melastomatos species. The total value of the best formulation for the four treatments ranged from 0.3% to 0.5%. The optimization of the best biological attractant application with high development potential lies in the encapsulation formulations F3 and F4.

Abstract

Ramadan is a month synonymous with togetherness. Among the activities that foster togetherness is breaking the fast together. Breaking the fast together has become one of the deep traditions in our culture. In an effort to increase social awareness and share with others, we carried out a community service initiative by holding iftar activities together at Aisyiyah Payakumbuh Orphanage. This service aims to analyze the impact of breaking the fast together on the welfare of the orphanage children. The methods used are participatory observation and interviews. The results of the service showed that this breakfasting activity had a significant impact on the social welfare of children in the orphanage, both in terms of emotional and psychological. Participation in this activity increases a sense of togetherness and happiness and provides valuable social experiences for children living in orphanages.

Abstract

Tahfiz Al-Qur'an is an effort to maintain, memorize, maintain and preserve the Qur'an revealed to the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Islamic boarding schools that are mushrooming in Indonesia will be incomplete without this activity. Even in non-boarding schools, Qur'anic tahfiz is one of the extracurriculars. This shows how much attention Muslims pay in memorizing the Qur'an. To  test and improve the quality of memorization of the Qur'an, it is necessary to hold a Qur'an tahfiz competition. This journal discusses the Qur'an tahfiz competition as a place to improve the quality of memorization. The method used is observation. The results showed that the Qur'an tahfiz competition can spur the enthusiasm of Qur'an memorizers, train competitive spirits and establish ukhuwah Islamiyah among fellow Qur'an memorizers.
