Abstract

Library management training is very important, especially in villages that can be said to be partially undeveloped. This village library aims to make the community, especially children, young people and adults, aware of the importance of literacy, as well as to educate the community. Not only limited to information and sources of knowledge for the community, this village library will also become an Islamic-based information center, where the community will learn a lot about Islamic teachings in this library. The problem that often arises in this case is that there are still people who cannot read and write, so it becomes difficult for the village to run this program then access to the library in the village is small and cannot accommodate many people. The method in this activity is training by conducting surveys, education and approaches to the community, the results obtained by the community are very enthusiastic about the activities carried out

Abstract

Purpose – This study examines the dynamics of al-Qur'an memorizing couples in Roudlatul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School in Metro City in building a sakinah family. This study aims to fill the gap in the literature regarding the influence of the practice of memorizing the Qur'an on family relationships and daily life in the context of contemporary Islamic family law. This study argues that the spiritual practice of memorizing the Qur'an can be a significant strategy in improving family harmony and emotional well-being, making it relevant to be used as a reference in a strategic approach to building a sakinah family in the modern era. Methods – This research utilized a phenomenological study to gain in-depth insight into the informants' experiences. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with three couples who memorize the Qur'an and work as teachers at Roudlatul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School. The interviews were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify key themes and patterns relating to the impact of Qur'ānic memorization on contemporary family dynamics. Findings – This study reveals that the activity of memorizing the Qur'an contributes significantly to controlling emotions, creating inner calm, and increasing wisdom in family decision-making. Couples who engaged in this activity reported increased self-awareness as well as the ability to handle conflicts more calmly and wisely. These results support the view that listening to and memorizing the Qur'an not only reduces stress levels, but also promotes inner peace through mechanisms involving the release of natural endorphins and delta wave stimulation. These findings are relevant in the context of building a sakinah family in the environment of Pesantren Roudlatul Qur'an Metro City, particularly within the framework of contemporary Islamic family law. Research limitations – Some limitations of this study include the small sample size and focus on one particular location, which may affect the generalizability of the findings. Further research with a larger sample and various locations is needed to strengthen the conclusions. Originality – This study makes an important contribution to the literature on the role of spirituality in contemporary family dynamics. The results of this study show that Qur'an memorization not only has an impact on spiritual aspects, but also on emotional and psychological aspects, thus providing a strong foundation for achieving a sakinah family. This research also opens up opportunities for further research on how religious practices can be used to improve the quality of family life.

Abstract

This community service activity was motivated by the increasing number of bullying cases in schools, which negatively impacts students' psychological development and academic achievement. Bullying not only causes physical injuries but also long-term mental trauma. Therefore, a comprehensive approach is needed, one of which is through anti-bullying education based on Islamic values. The goal of this activity is to educate students of MAPN 4 Medan about the dangers of bullying and to foster awareness and mutual respect through an Islamic approach that emphasizes compassion, brotherhood, and justice. Implementation methods include interactive lectures, group discussions, educational video screenings, and role-plays of bullying cases. The results of the activity indicate an increase in students' understanding of the forms of bullying and their impacts, as well as a commitment from students to create a safe, peaceful school environment based on Islamic values. This activity is expected to be the first step in building a school culture free from violence and strengthening students' character within the framework of Islamic teachings.

Abstract

The holy Qur’an uses near about thirty terminologies related to the human thinking. Some of them are mentioned here in this article, such as: Conceiving, perceiving, retrieving, considering, deliberating, comprehending, grasping, reasoning, contemplating, pondering and to draw some fruitful lessons. Many of these terminologies have some additional positive connotations besides denoting the different levels of thinking.  Before analyzing these terminologies, it is better to know further about the Islamic concept of knowledge and introduce it as being the important object of knowledge. The aim of this research is to know the real concept of knowledge in Islam, so that it will be easier for us to analyze the terminologies of Qur'anic thinking  and their positive impacts on the human life. We also use in this article some opinions of Muslim thinkers and Western scholars in the concept of knowledge using a descriptive analytical approach, which is always being useful in search of such kind of issues related to interpretation of the Qur’an and it is worth to declare that we mention some needed examples also from the verses of the Qur'an.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap penafsiran sosial inovatif yang digunakan oleh Syekh Tantawi Jawhari sebagai sarana efektif dalam memperbaharui semangat renaisans Islam dan memerangi stagnasi intelektual yang melingkupi umat pada abad ke-19 M. Dalam karyanya Al-Jawâhir fȋ Tafsȋr al-Qur’ân, Tantawi Jawhari memberikan ruang luas terhadap isu-isu sosial sebagai titik tolak pemahaman Al-Qur’an yang lebih kontekstual, sekaligus sebagai legitimasi otoritatif untuk mencari solusi atas problem perkembangan dan krisis zaman. Melalui pendekatan tersebut, beliau mendorong umat Islam untuk menguasai ilmu pengetahuan modern dengan tetap mengaitkannya pada nilai-nilai agama. Artikel ini berfokus pada analisis aspek sosial Surat Al-Mumtahanah sebagaimana dipaparkan dalam tafsir Tantawi Jawhari, dengan perspektif Ulumul Qur’an sebagai landasan analitis. Pertanyaan utama yang diangkat adalah: (1) Apa saja karakteristik sosial yang menonjol dalam penafsiran Tantawi Jawhari terhadap Surat Al-Mumtahanah? (2) Sejauh mana metodologi Jawhari berbeda dengan metodologi tradisional dalam kerangka tafsir Al-Qur’an? Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa metodologi sosial yang dikembangkan oleh Tantawi Jawhari memiliki corak rasional dan inovatif, namun juga memunculkan problem metodologis karena cenderung memberikan ruang kebebasan mutlak pada akal dalam menafsirkan teks Al-Qur’an. Hal ini menjadikan pendekatannya perlu ditinjau ulang agar tetap selaras dengan prinsip-prinsip dasar penafsiran dalam tradisi Ulumul Qur’an

Abstract

This study explores the Qur’anic foundations of moral standards by examining the relationship between belief (ʿaqīdah) and morality as reflected in selected Qur’anic verses. Employing a thematic interpretation (tafsīr maudhū‘ī) through a descriptive-analytical method and inductive reasoning (istiqrā’), this research investigates how ethical conduct is shaped within the Qur'anic worldview. The key finding highlights that, according to the Qur’an, morality is inherently practical and action-oriented. It emphasizes the necessity of righteous deeds as a pathway to human nobility and true happiness. Moral obligations, in this context, are not abstract theories open to speculation, but imperatives that demand immediate implementation. The Qur’an positions revelation—not reason or custom—as the ultimate source of moral authority. Furthermore, the Qur’anic standard of ethical belief is deeply rooted in core theological principles such as tawḥīd (divine oneness), trust in God, sincere intention, and love, which collectively guide the moral conscience of a believer.
