The researcher used Product Moment Correlation to see if there was any correlation between the two variables. The result showed that the value of correlation coefficient (rxy) was 0.223 which means that there was a positive low correlation between the variable x and variable y. Furthermore, the hypothesis testing showed that the index value rxy was lower than the index value of rt (0.223<0.355) which means that the H0 (null hypothesis) was accepted and Ha was rejected. Thus, there was unsignificant correlation between the variable x and variable y. However, this result may have been affected by internal threats. The students used of subtitle while watching movie was quite high which may prevent them to optimally receive the inputs and acquire the language especially listening skill.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the application of multimodal literacy to enhance the reading abilities of grade VIII students at SMPN 1 Kamang Magek. Multimodal literacy, which incorporated text, images, audio, and other media elements, served as a strategy to improve students' comprehension of English texts, offering strong potential to support reading instruction, particularly in English as a second language. Utilizing diverse media such as images, sounds, and videos was believed to increase student interest, deepen text comprehension, and boost learning motivation. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, data were collected through observations and interviews with English teachers and six selected students. The findings revealed that integrating multimodal elements enhanced students’ engagement and comprehension in reading instruction, though teachers faced challenges, especially due to limited facilities and variations in students’ abilities. This study suggested that multimodal literacy was an effective approach for improving reading skills in English language learning, provided there was additional support through better facilities and teacher training.

Abstract

This study was due to the high number of students, particularly in the 11th grade, who are not yet aware of their own personalities and learning styles. Students tend to follow the learning process as directed by their teachers, while teachers predominantly use traditional methods with limited variations in the classroom. Consequently, students whose personalities did not align with these methods may struggle to engage effectively in the learning process. This study used a descriptive quantitative research approach with descriptive statistical methods. The population in this research consists of 11th-grade students at SMKN 1 Bukittinggi. The sample for the study was selected using a random sampling technique, resulting in a randomly chosen group of 11th-grade students. The instruments used in the study include questionnaires to investigate learning styles and another set of questionnaires to assess personality types. For data analysis, the researchers applied descriptive statistics with percentages and data visualizations, representing the results in bar and pie charts. The results revealed that the dominant personality type among 11th-grade students at SMKN 1 Bukittinggi is ambivert, accounting for 64% of the total sample. The dominant learning style among these students is kinesthetic, with a total percentage of 26%. The study also found that the dominant learning style for introverted students is visual, while extroverted students primarily prefer kinesthetic learning. Meanwhile, ambivert students tend to prefer a multimodal approach, showing the ability to adapt to various learning styles.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of six elements in the Fraud Hexagon Theory pressure, opportunity, rationalization, arrogance, capability, and collusion on financial statement fraud in banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during 2021–2024. Financial statement fraud is measured using the Beneish M-Score Model, which applies eight financial ratios to detect potential manipulation. This research employs a quantitative approach with an ex post facto method and a causal design. The sample consists of 43 banking companies selected through purposive sampling, resulting in 172 observations. Data were obtained from annual reports and financial statements published on the official IDX website. Multiple linear regression analysis was conducted, preceded by classical assumption tests to ensure model validity. The findings indicate that pressure, opportunity, and arrogance have a significant positive effect on M-Score, while rationalization, capability, and collusion have a positive but insignificant effect. These results emphasize that pressure, opportunity, and arrogance in leadership play a crucial role in increasing the risk of financial statement fraud in the banking sector. The practical implication is the need to strengthen corporate governance, enhance the effectiveness of internal controls, and enforce managerial ethics to reduce the potential for fraud. For regulators such as the Financial Services Authority (OJK), these findings can serve as input for designing more comprehensive fraud prevention policies.
