Abstract

Abstract

Progress in developing electric vehicles (EVs) has resulted in substantial advancements in recent years. EVs can effectively reduce carbon emissions while allowing vehicle manufacturers to build a strong presence in emerging markets. Nevertheless, the rapid growth of EVs in Indonesia requires more significant expansion. The lack of sufficient facilities to cope with the demand for EVs has led to customer reluctance to adopt this mode of transportation. Also, there is a notable hesitancy among manufacturers and business professionals to engage in the production of EVs and the establishment of charging infrastructure. This hesitation arises primarily from the lack of apparent market demand, which may be attributed to the significant investment costs associated with these ventures. This study, therefore, aims to develop an Annual Cost of the System (ACS) cost model to assess and select potential economically feasible and operationally feasible investments for the provision of Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) and Public Electric Vehicle Battery Exchange Stations (SPBKLU) services in Indonesia. When creating investment decisions, it is necessary to take into consideration a range of feasibility analysis variables, including but not limited to Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Payback Period (PBP). Moreover, this study additionally performed a sensitivity analysis to determine actionable recommendations for individuals within the business community.

Abstract

The electric motorcycle conversion program is an initiative introduced by the Indonesian government aimed at reducing dependence on fossil fuels and lowering greenhouse gas emissions. This research aims to develop an effective business model for PT. Ekolektrik Konversi Mandiri in converting gasoline-powered motorcycles into electric motorcycles. The research methodology uses a descriptive qualitative approach, including case study analysis, interviews with stakeholders, and evaluation of various relevant business models. The results show that a business model prioritizing strategic partnerships, operational efficiency, and a strong value proposition for consumers can enhance the success and sustainability of the electric motorcycle conversion business. Additionally, the research identifies key challenges such as high conversion costs and limited supporting infrastructure and provides recommendations to address these barriers. With the right business model, electric motorcycle conversion businesses like PT. Ekolektrik Konversi Mandiri are expected to significantly contribute to the Indonesian government's target of achieving Net Zero Emissions by 2060.

Abstract

Indonesia is experiencing rapid growth in the number of motorized vehicles, which increases the need for lithium batteries as an efficient energy storage solution, where startups such as PT Batex need to face the challenges of innovation and market understanding through lean startup methods to improve their products and competitiveness in the industry. This research focuses on redesigning lithium battery batteries to create innovative products that are successful in the market by considering customer needs, business feasibility, and the application of lean startup methods while addressing the challenge of lack of product innovation. This research method uses a qualitative approach with stages including problem identification, data collection through observation, interviews, and prototype testing. Furthermore, analysis is carried out to evaluate product development results and integrate customer feedback into the final design. The redesign of lithium battery batteries by PT Batex shows success with a durability of up to 3,000 charging cycles, a customer satisfaction rate of 90%, and an increase in market share from 5% to 15% in one year. In the future, more in-depth market analysis and research on integrating lithium battery batteries with renewable energy systems will be needed to support sustainability and product development.
