Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the process of first language acquisition and development in 6 year old children. The method used in this research is a qualitative analysis method. The technique used in processing data and obtaining data is through observation and interviews with parents and children directly (face to face). The results of the research show that children's language development goes through several patterns, namely crying, cooing, moaning, intonation patterns, one-word speech, two-word speech, data inflections, interrogative sentences, rare/complex constructions, and mature speech.Furthermore, there are several levels of children's language, namely pre-speech, first words when names appear, word combinations and grammar. Meanwhile, there are several ways for children to acquire language, namely through acquisition and teaching. There are four factors in language acquisition, namely biology, environment, intelligence, and motivation. Parental involvement and supervision also greatly influences the complex process of children's language development.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk representasi dominasi dan relasi kekuasaan serta resistensi (perlawanan) yang terdapat dalam novel Saman karya Ayu Utami. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa kalimat dan paragraf yang berhubungan representasi dominasi otoritas dan relasi kuasa seta resistensi terhadap kekuasaan dalam novel Saman karya Ayu Utami. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data berupa novel yang berjudul Saman karya Ayu Utami ini. Diambil beberapa data yang berkaitan menggunakan tenik pengumpulan data yaitu simak dan catat. Data yang didapat akan dikaji dengan Teori Relasi Kuasa Michel Foucault. Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa (1) dominasi otoritas mutlak dari penguasa terhadap masyarakat kelas bawah terdapat 9 data (2) representasi relasi kuasa yang terbentuk dalam lingkungan sosial dan kelompok ideologi tertentu terdapat 4 data (3) perlawanan (resistensi) dari masyarakat kelas bawah (inferior) terhadap penguasa (superior) terdapat 4 data. Simpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu dalam Novel Sama karya Ayu Utami terdapat dominasi otoritas. Kata Kunci: Dominasi Otoritas, Inferior, Michel Foucault, Relasi Kuasa, Superior

Abstract

This article describes improving students' procedure text learning outcomes using Canva infographics. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. This research uses instruments like pre-test and post-test with 20 questions. The numerical data will be discussed in detail by describing the research variables. The research subjects were 25 seventh-grade junior high school students. This study obtained the following results: there was an increase in student learning outcomes in learning procedure text before and after using Canva infographics. Students completed the pretest with an overall average score of 66.5, increasing to 75.1 for the posttest average score. There was an increase in pre-test classical completeness from 44% to 80% compared to the post-test classical completeness score.

Abstract

This study develops a Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)-based assessment instrument for descriptive texts using Quizizz for seventh-grade students at SMP Amalia Medan. The research employs Sugiyono’s (2015) RD method, implementing seven stages: problem identification, data collection, product design, validation, revision, testing, and final revision. Validation by three experts yielded a 94% validity rate, confirming strong instrument reliability. Of 30 developed questions, 25 were valid (r 0.3291) with a reliability coefficient of 0.78 ( 0.60). The difficulty level was "Moderate", and two questions with low discriminative power were removed. Most distractors were effective, with over 5% of students selecting alternative answers. Trial results indicated students' HOTS levels were categorized as "Good", demonstrating the instrument's effectiveness in evaluating higher-order thinking in descriptive text comprehension. This study highlights the potential of Quizizz as an engaging digital tool for HOTS-based assessments.
