This research aims to analyze the communication process of the Berco tribe in Sumbawa Besar that figured in establishing their reality in agrarian conflict. This study is distinctive and novel since the social science approach, including the pattern of communication, symbol, culture, and identity, was used as the approach. This research used a qualitative study with an over-participants approach, and the informants of the study were chosen using goodness criteria with a purposive sampling technique. In analyzing the data, the author used a model of interactive technique by Miles and Huberman that comprised three steps: data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The results showed that the Berco tribe held their cultural tradition solidly as a way to show their existence during the conflict. Rapulung, or deliberate instruction communication patterns, became a process that is imposed during the conflict. Furthermore, the use of native language, namely 'Berco,' is one of the cultural identities that is considered important as a form of resistance and becomes the individual variability in influencing the choices and strategies in the conflict situations.

The purpose of this research is to reflect back 200 years of the eruption of Tambora on the island of Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara through travel with a photographic study approach, specifically travel photography. Since its inception, photography has played a constitutive role in shaping a travel record, this is also comparable to the importance of that role as a depiction of social identity (Osborne, 2000). In addition, travel photography is also a way to see experiences through visual authentication (Hilman Wendy, 2007). Mount Tambora erupted in April 1815, impacting global climate change and natural disasters which claimed 84,000 lives on the island of Sumbawa, and buried the Tambora kingdom and Concentrated .. Based on the results of research, researchers see the occurrence of reconstruction in the history of the eruption of Tambora which is not only seen as a mountain, but also as an identity in the social structure of society in the form of photography. A photographer has the authority to create a reality from pre-travel to post-travel.

This research is focused on the influence of public relations activities (PublicRelations-PR) through the use of the internet (Cyber ??PR) to brand awarenessa private college. The purpose of this research is to find outhow the influence of cyber PR activities carried out by the University Public RelationsSumbawa Technology (UTS) through social media such as Facebook, Youtube andInstagram towards increasing UTS brand awareness. ResearchThis method uses quantitative methods with SPSS structural equation modeling (SEM)to compile a model of research results. The sample population used inThis research is the community of Sumbawa sub-district with the age criteria 15-29year in which 124 respondents filled out a questionnaire as a representation of 16,770 peoplethe people of Sumbawa for that age category. From the results of the F test there is an influencesimultaneous between independent variables (Facebook, Instagram and Youtube variables)to the dependent variable (Brand Awareness). Meanwhile, the results of the t test are obtainedthat the Instagram variable has a significant influence onincrease in UTS campus brand awareness.

This study aims to explain how the symbolic interaction of football supporters of The Jakmania Petukangan in interpreting their presence in society. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques used by researchers are in-depth interviews and documentation. To analyze the data, the researcher used the symbolic interaction theory proposed by George Herbert Mead. The results of this study indicate that The Jakmania supporter group interprets its presence in the community, The Jakmania soccer supporters through the interactions made by the members of the group. The interaction carried out by the members of The Jakmania soccer fans group is through the elements contained in the activities organized by the members of the group. These elements include actions, gestures, costumes, The Jakmania.. In addition, there is a shift in the opinion of the Petukangan community regarding football supporters who were previously seen as often carrying out anarchic actions, now becoming a group whose presence provides benefits and positive impacts for the community. This is the first step so that the values ??contained in the activities of The Jakmania football supporters group in Petukangan can be interpreted and accepted by the Petukangan community in social life.

Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah menawarkan bentuk pola komunikasi pada situasi konflik dalam urusan sengketa tanah adat pada masyarakat Cek Bocek Salesek Reen Sury di Kabupaten Sumbawa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan konstruktif dengan metode penelitian kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam (indepth interview) dan observasi partisipan (overt-participant)guna mendapatkan data yang akurat dari informansesuai dengan kebutuhan dan pada situasi orang-orang yang diteliti mengetahui kehadiran peneliti dalam bentuk interaksi dan percakapan (conversation).(Kriyantono, 2014, h. 111). Di Desa Lawin Kabupaten Sumbawa terdapat kelompok masyarakat adat Cek Bocek Salesek Reen Sury hidup secara turun temurun sejak tahun 1512 yang menggantungkan hidupnya dengan Hutan Dodo. Di wilayah Hutan Dodo terdapat tanah konsesi petambangan PT. Newmont Nusa Tenggara seluas 1. 127, 134 Ha berdasarkan dokumen Kontrak Karya (KK) yang ditandatangani pada tanggal 2 Desember 1986 melalui persetujuan Presiden Republik Indonesia nomor: B.43/Pres/II/1986. Dalam kontrak karya tersebut, seluas 10.331 Ha berada di wilayah adat masyarakat Cek Bocek Selesek Ren Sury sehingga terjadi perebutan hak atas tanah di wilayah tersebut (Gunawan dkk. 2011). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat tiga konflik yang melibatkan masyarakat adat Cek Bocek Salesek Reen Sury dengan satu objek pertanahan. Pertama, konflik masyarakat adat dengan PT. Newmont Nusa Tenggara. Kedua, konflik masyarakat adat dengan Pemerintah Daerah Kabupaten Sumbawa dan ketiga, konflik masyarakat adat dengan Lembaga Adat Tana’ Samawa (LATS). Kuatnya dominasi Pemerintah Daerah dan hadirnya Lembaga Adat Tana Samawa (LATS) melalui PERDA No. 9 Tahun 2015 semakin mempersulit eksistensi dan keberadaan masyarakat adat lainnya di Kabupaten Sumbawa termasuk masyarakat adat Cek Bocek Salesek Reen Sury. Berdasarkan hasil analisis komunikasi, situasi konflik semacam ini membutuhkan pola komunikasi negosiasi intermediaries untuk menentukan langkah komunikasi yang efektif pada masyarakat adat Cek Bocek Salesek Reen Sury di Kabupaten Sumbawa.

Globalisasi dan perkembangan teknologi telah mengubah manusia menjadi lebih dinamis terhadap pola interaksi dan komunikasi, salah satunya seperti new media atau media digital untuk kepentingan transaksi informasi. Segala bentuk informasi dapat diakses melalui new media seperti blog, website, youtube dan media sosial (Siti,2017). Farah Qoonita menggunakan strategi komunikasi persuasif yaitu (The Psychodynamic strategy, The Sociocultural Strategy, dan The Meaning Construction Strategy). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui strategi komunikasi persuasif Farah Qoonita dalam menyampaikan dakwah melalui new media dengan menggunakan teori strategi komunikasi persuasif Melvin L. Defleur dan Sandra J. Ball-Rokeach. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi,wawancara mendalam dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan model Miles dan Huberman yaitu, reduksi data, penyajian data, penarikan serta uji kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini terdapat teori yang relevan dan mendukung rumusan masalah yang diteliti. Kesimpulan dari analisis strategi komunikasi persuasif Farah Qoonita dalam menyampaikan dakwah melalui new media sangat efektif yaitu desain grafis, bahasa yang digunakan dan posisi.

Descriptive Analysis of the Editorial Management of Local Newspaper namely Radar Sumbawa amidst the Flow of Online Media Information explosion is a real problem in nowadays rapidly developing computerized era. Increasingly tighter competition makes various fields of information media to be able to maintain their existence by presenting interesting and actual news. One of the solutions is by implementing directed editorial management. The basic functions of management consist of four, namely POAC which stands for Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling. This study aimed to determine how the implementation of POAC management in the editorial of Radar Sumbawa, both in printed and online media. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach and the data collection techniques used were interview, observation, and documentation. From the research results, it is obtained that the POAC management applied to the editorial of Radar Sumbawa newspaper has been implemented properly in accordance with POAC guidelines, namely by holding projection and evaluation meetings to plan coverage, evaluate, select professional human resources (HR) in their fields, and hold training for journalists to further hone their skills. Radar also pays attention on the needs of people involved in the editorial sector, such as giving rewards to outstanding journalists and all other facilities that can support their activities. Meanwhile, the POAC management applied to the editorial website of Radar is also not much different from the printed media. The Radar Sumbawa website is well functioning and posts news regularly. This returns to the principle of Radar Sumbawa, which is to become the largest newspaper and a reference for the people of West Nusa Tenggara. Disaster management is needed to minimize the impact of disasters. It aims to prepare and educate people living in disaster-prone areas to be better prepared to respond to the impact of disasters. Sumbawa Regency is an area prone to natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, fires, landslides, and others. The Regional Agency for Disaster Management (BPBD) of Sumbawa Regency is to implement a program called "Desa Tangguh Bencana" to improve disaster mitigation management in Sumbawa. This study aims to determine the communication strategy of disaster mitigation planning by BPBD of Sumbawa Regency, early 2020–2021. This study uses descriptive methods and data collection techniques by observation and in-depth interviews with the initiators of the program and their effectiveness in tackling the impact of disasters. The study results showed that communication strategy is the main point of successful program implementation by selecting communicators with scientific credibility, expertise, professionals related to disasters, and good public speaking skills. The targets are the village government and, of course, the people who directly feel the impact of the disaster. A communication platform is used to introduce the program to the community using face-to-face meetings such as outreach and campaigns through social media, using a website network to reach the general public to get information regarding the program's presence. The content of the information submitted in this program is information related to disaster mitigation, stages, and implementation carried out by BPBD in dealing with disasters for people whose living areas are often affected by natural disasters.

Background : Film is one of the modern mass communication media as an information medium that has the ability to convey messages. One of the Indonesian films that carries the theme of feminism is the film Marlina The Murderer in Four Acts which is also directed by a woman, Mouly Surya. Objective : To find out more about the signs of feminism that exist in the two characters Marlina and Novi in the film Marlina The Murderer in Four Acts directed by Mouly Surya. Methods : This study uses a qualitative approach to the theory of semiotic analysis of Roland Barthes. The primary data used is data obtained directly from the object of research, namely the film Marlina The Killer in Four Acts and secondary data obtained from scientific sources that can support this research. significant two stages and their mythical elements. Results : This film tells the story of a woman who struggles against the patriarchal system where she gets violence and sexual harassment and the resistance of women in this film is very different from the stereotype in general where women are described as gentle figures. Conclusion: The results of this study show signs of feminism with two female characters with different characters but able to fight, this film indicates feminism but has an element of masculinity. In this film, it is legal to use masculine attributes to seize the goals of feminism, which in this study femininity cannot be limited by symbols and attributes.
