Abstract

Infections in the female reproductive system are prevalent among women of reproductive age every year. These infections can lead to cervical cancer and infertility. There are two types of infections in the female reproductive system: sexually transmitted infections and infections caused by the abnormal growth of normal flora, known as vaginitis. The objective of this activity is to enhance the knowledge of female patients regarding the use of intravaginal medications in the Gadang Hanyar Community Health Center environment.The activity took place on Tuesday, April 29, 2023, at the Gadang Hanyar Community Health Center. Education was provided through lectures and the distribution of leaflets to participants. There was an improvement in participants' knowledge regarding the use of intravaginal medications. This is evident from the increase in the average pretest score (before education) from 56.66 to 82.5 for the average posttest score (after education). The health promotion regarding the use of intravaginal medications successfully enhanced respondents' knowledge about the correct usage and storage of intravaginal medications

Abstract

Suppositoria diresepkan untuk pasien yang tidak dapat mengkonsumsi obat-obatan melalui rute oral. Penggunaan jenis obat suppositoria berbeda dengan penggunaan obat pada umumnya seperti obat tablet atau sirup. Masyarakat masih belum familiar terkait penggunaan suppositoria. Dengan menggunakan suppositoria secara tepat, memungkinkan obat untuk bekerja dengan lebih efektif dan memberikan manfaat yang diharapkan. Tujuan promosi kesehatan adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan terkait penggunaan suppositoria. Promosi kesehatan menerapkan metode ceramah dalam pemberian edukasi. Selama kegiatan dilakukan evaluasi dengan kuesioner. Kegiatan promosi kesehatan telah dilaksanakan pada 29 April 2023 dengan sasaran pasien rawat jalan yang berkunjung ke Puskesmas Gadang Hanyar.  Sebanyak 12 peserta ikut kegiatan. Hasil dari kegiatan diperoleh pengetahuan peserta pada pre-test sebesar 55% dengan kategori kurang. Setelah edukasi materi penggunaan suppositoria, pengetahuan peserta sebesar 84.17% dengan kategori baik. Pengetahuan pasien rawat jalan Puskesmas Gadang Hanyar terkait penggunaan suppositoria mengalami peningkatan dengan kategori pengetahuan baik setelah pemberian edukasi oleh apoteker. Kata Kunci: Apoteker, Dagusibu, Oral, Rektal Suppositories are prescribed for people who have difficulty ingesting medications orally. Suppository medication administration differs from conventional medications, such as tablets or syrups. The general populace is mostly unacquainted with the application of suppositories. Proper use of suppositories enhances the efficacy of the drug and ensures that the desired advantages are achieved. The objective of health promotion is to increase awareness of the use of storages. Health promotion uses the lecture method to provide education. A questionnaire was used to conduct an evaluation during the activity. On 29 April 2023, health promotion initiatives were carried out specifically for outpatients who visited the Gadang Hanyar Public Health Centre.  There were a total of 12 individuals involved in the activity. The exercise yielded a pre-test knowledge score of 55% for participants, falling into the lower range. Following the educational session on the administration of suppositories, the participants' level of knowledge reached 84.17%, placing it in the "good" category. The instruction provided by pharmacists has significantly improved the understanding of outpatients at the Gadang Hanyar Health Centre regarding the use of suppositories, resulting in a substantial improvement in their knowledge category.
