Abstract

Pests and disease are one of the factors that cause yield loss of red chilli. Knowledge of the population dynamics of the main pests and diseases of red chilli can be used as the basis for recommendations for pest and disease control. The research aims to analyze pests and diseases population dynamics on red chilli cultivation, the influence of environmental factors and the influence of population dynamics on red chilli production. This research was conducted in Kereng Bangkirai Village Sebangau District, Kalampangan Village Sebangau District and Tanjung Pinang Village Pahandut District, Palangka Raya City. The research was conducted from December 2022 to March 2023. The research using a quantitative descriptive method. The sample plants used the diagonal plot sampling method, with an area of 4 m x 4 m. Observation were made in the morning once a week from transplanting to harvesting. The result showed that the dynamics of the main pest population of red chilli plants was influenced by the availability of food, the population of red chilli pests was high when the condition of the plant organs (leaves) was still at a young age which was suitable for its feed designation, the dynamics of anthracnose disease was influenced by temperature and humidity; Temperature and humidity do not always have a significant effect on pest and disease population dynamics. Fluctuating pest populations are influenced by the cultivation system applied by farmers, especially the use of synthetic pesticides; The higher number of pest and disease populations cause less production of red chilli plants.

Abstract

In 2020 and 2021, there was a big flood in (Technical Implementation Unit) UPT Tanggul Harapan, Pematang Limau Village, Seruyan Hilir District and Mekar Indah Village, Seruyan Hilir Timur District and it forced some people to flee their homes. The overflowing of Seruyan River is caused by high intensity of rain and river flooding from the headwaters of Seruyan. This condition occurred because of Mekar Indah Village and UPT. Tanggul Harapan is in a downstream location. The main objective of this research is to find out the effective way of controlling floods in the Seruyan River. The calculation result of flood peak volume is obtained by using the synthesis of hydrograph units using the SCS and Snyder methods. The results of this research indicated that the design of periodic re-rain for 50 years prior to the handling of floods in the area of UPT Tanggul Harapan occurred flooding of 94.96% of the entire area of UPT Tanggul Harapan. Meanwhile, in Mekar Indah Village occurred 40.72%, after simulating flood handling in making an embankment along 20111 m, elevation 5 m above sea level, top width of the embankment 5 m and 4 units of floodgates. It indicated a significant change in the flood area in UPT Tanggul Harapan to only 1.23%, while in Mekar Indah Village it is 0.80%. The simulation result indicated that flood management by making embankment is able to reduce the flood area by 93.19% in UPT Tanggul Harapan and 39.92% in Mekar Indah Village.

Abstract

Terdapat dua agroekosistem utama di Kalimantan Tengah yang dominan dimanfaatkan untuk usaha tani padi, yaitu lahan rawa dan lahan kering. Padi lokal spesifik lahan rawa banyak ditemukan di Kabupaten Katingan, terlebih di Kecamatan Pulau Malan masih didominasi oleh padi lokal lahan rawa dikarenakan Kecamatan Pulau Malan berada di daerah sepanjang sungai Katingan yang pada suatu waktu sering mengalami banjir, kedalaman rawa yang berbeda-beda membuat masyarakat sering mengalami kegagalan usaha tani dalam pengembangan bibit unggul. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi, menginventarisir dan mengkarakteristik serta menganilis jenis tanaman padi lokal dari kepunahan. Penelitian dilakukan di empat desa yang ada di Kecamatan Pulau Malan yaitu Desa Tewang Papari, Desa Tewang Darayu, Desa Buntut Bali, dan Desa Manduing Taheta pada bulan Desember 2021 – Juli 2022. Dari hasil inventarisasi terdapat 23 varietas padi lokal dengan karakter morfologi yang beraneka ragam, profil tanaman yang tinggi, jumlah anakan mulai dari sedang hingga sangat banyak, sebagian varietas memiliki aroma nasi yang harum dengan rasa nasi pulen, sedang hingga pera.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the best dose of PSB application on the growth of caisim plants in inland peat soil, and to determine the yield of caisim plants after PSB application in inland peat soil. This research was conducted in the field of Department of Agricultural Cultivation, University of Palangka Raya. This research was conducted from February 28, 2025 to April 28, 2025. This study used a single-factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD), namely the application of PSB (ml L-1) consisting of 5 treatment levels, namely: control, 25, 50, 75, and 100. Each treatment was repeated 4 times, resulting in 20 experimental units. The results showed that the application of PSB had a significant effect on the observation variables of plant height at all ages, number of leaves at 21 HST and 28 HST, plant fresh weight and plant dry weight. PSB application did not significantly affect the observation variables of the number of leaves at the age of 14 HST, leaf area and plant root weight. PSB application with a concentration of 100 ml L-1 =A4 gives the best results in all observations.

Abstract

Sungai Kahayan terletak di Provinsi Kalimantan Tengah yang bermuara di Kabupaten Pulang Pisau. Sungai Kahayan merupakan urat nadi kehidupan bagi masyarakat melalui melalui ekosistem perairan dan hutan di sekitarnya. Penggunaan lahan di Kabupaten Pulang Pisau didominasi oleh kelapa sawit dan karet sebagai komoditas utama. Perkebunan kelapa sawit yang memiliki izin adalah seluas ± 138.076 Ha tersebar di 6 (enam) Kecamatan di Kabupaten Pulang Pisau. Sungai Kahayan menjadi salah satu media penerima air limbah dari pabrik kelapa sawit. Status mutu air Sungai Kahayan adalah tercemar ringan dengan parameter kritis adalah Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD). Perlu diketahui kontribusi beban pencemar dari air limbah pabrik kelapa sawit dan perkebunan kelapa sawit terhadap daya tampung beban pencemar Sungai Kahayan. Analisis beban pencemar maksimum air limbah kelapa sawit dilakukan menggunakan program pemodelan Qual2Kw. Sungai Kahayan mengalami pencemaran bahan organik yang ditandai dengan tingginya konsentrasi BOD, TSS, dan rendahnya kadar DO. Aktivitas industri kelapa sawit, baik dari limbah cair pabrik maupun limbah perkebunan, memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap pencemaran tersebut. Model Qual2Kw yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini dapat digunakan untuk mengevaluasi jumlah maksimum beban pencemar yang dapat diterima oleh Sungai Kahayan dan melakukan skenario penurunan beban pencemar. Berdasarkan validasi model, hasil simulasi menunjukkan kesesuaian dengan kondisi lapangan dengan tingkat kesalahan (RMSPE) sebesar 10%. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa daya tampung beban pencemar (DTBP) Sungai Kahayan untuk parameter BOD sudah terlampaui, sehingga tidak ada alokasi beban pencemar air limbah industri kelapa sawit yang boleh masuk ke sungai. Skenario penurunan beban pencemar melalui pengurangan konsentrasi dan debit air limbah pabrik kelapa sawit serta pembatasan pembukaan lahan perkebunan hanya dapat menurunkan beban pencemar hingga 38,46%, namun masih berada di atas baku mutu air kelas II.
