Abstract

The global population is projected to reach 9.7 billion by 2050, increasing food demand and straining the environment. Meat consumption, responsible for 31% of global greenhouse gas emissions, drives deforestation, biodiversity loss, and climate change. Despite its environmental and health risks, global meat consumption is expected to rise by 76% by 2050. In Indonesia, while tempeh and tofu are cultural staples, plant-based protein consumption has declined, contradicting climate commitments under the Paris Agreement. This study analyzes meat consumption behavior among 384 Universitas Brawijaya students (18-25 years) using the COM-B model, focusing on capability, opportunity, and motivation. Significant gender differences emerged in capability (e.g., cooking skills and environmental awareness), opportunity (e.g, habit consumption and sosio environtmrntal),and motivation (e.g., males’ preference for meat, driven by masculinity traits). Key barriers include taste and habitual meat consumption, while opportunities involve affordability and interest in healthy food. Effective strategies include improving plant-based meat appeal, providing information on meat’s harmful effects, and offering affordable alternatives. Gender-tailored interventions addressing motivations and capabilities are essential to promote plant-based protein adoption and reduce meat consumption. Abstract

Abstrak: UMKM "Jamu Tradisional Di Mojokerto" berkomitmen untuk meningkatkan penjualan dan menjaga kelangsungan bisnis mereka sambil menarik minat konsumen. Dalam rangka mendukung upaya ini, tim pengabdian masyarakat dari Laboratorium Manajemen Produksi Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Brawijaya memberikan bimbingan dalam pembuatan konten visual, seperti foto dan video produk, sesuai dengan kebutuhan UMKM tersebut. Tujuan utama dari pengabdian ini adalah membantu UMKM mengambangkan softskill seperti keterampilan, kreativitas, kemampuan pemecahan masalah dalam memahami perkembangan era digital, branding yang efektif dengan menciptakan konten yang berkualitas dan mencerminkan identitas merek mereka. Pelatihan dan pendampingan dilakukan untuk 10 umkm Jamu di Mojokerto. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan cara pretest dan posttest. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan UMKM dapat menggunakan dan mengoptimalkan konten visual ini secara strategis dalam media sosial dan platform e-commerce, 20% menjadi 90%.Abstract: The MSMEs of "Traditional Jamu Di Mojokerto" are committed to increasing sales and maintaining their business continuity while attracting consumer interest. In order to support this effort, the community service team from the Production Management Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Brawijaya provided guidance in creating visual content, such as product photos and videos, according to the needs of these MSMEs. The main objective of this service is to help MSMEs develop soft skills such as skills, creativity, problem-solving ability in understanding the development of the digital era, effective branding by creating quality content and reflecting their brand identity. Training and mentoring were conducted for 10 Jamu MSMEs in Mojokerto. Evaluation was carried out by means of pretest and posttest. The training results showed an increase in knowledge of MSMEs can use and optimize this visual content strategically in social media and e-commerce platforms, 20% to 90%.

Abstract

Abstrak: Era digitalisasi memunculkan persaingan usaha dan tidak dapat dipungkiri bahwa UMKM harus dapat menerapkan manajemen strategi yang baik. Keunggulan kompetitif menjadi penting bagi UMKM Jamu di Kabupaten Mojokerto. Indentifikasi potensi menunjukkan UMKM jamu tersebut memiliki berbagai varian dengan harga terjangkau yang ditawarkan, namun mereka belum dapat memanfaatkan secara maksimal nilai-nilai bisnis yang ada karena tidak adanya kegiatan identifikasi nilai bisnis oleh pemilik UMKM. Pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan meningkatkan soft skill melalui penguatan identitas dan nilai bisnis. Pelatihan dilakukan di bulan Juli 2023 tentang pembuatan Model Bisnis Canvas (BMC) kepada para pemilik UMKM setempat. Metode yang digunakan adalah business coaching yang melibatkan mitra, yaitu pemilik UMKM sebanyak 10 orang secara aktif dalam proses pembelajaran. Dengan dilakukannya program ini, terdapat peningkatan softskill dari 30% menjadi 80%. Pemahaman BMC telah membantu meningkatkan pemahaman dan potensi bisnis UMKM Jamu Di Kabupaten Mojokerto. Saran keberlanjutan kegiatan adalah adanya pelatihan pembuatan konten video untuk digital branding.Abstract: Digitalization era has increased business competition and forced SMEs to implement effective strategic management. Competitive advantage is important for herbal medicine SMEs in Mojokerto Regency. Potential identification shows that herbal medicine SMEs have various variants at affordable prices, but they had not been able to make maximum use of existing business values because there were no business value identification by SMEs owners. Community service aims to identify and enhance business values through strengthening business identity and worth. Training was held in July 2023 on creating a Business Model Canvas for MSME owners. The method utilized included both socialization and practical engagement with the SME owners, actively involving them in the learning process. Through this program, there was enhancement in softskill from 30% to 80%. Community service activities have helped increase understanding and business potential of herbal medicine SMEs in Mojokerto. A recommendation for the sustainability of this activity is the implementation of training in video content creation for digital branding.
