ABSTRACT Banana blossoms have the potential to stimulate the hormones oxytocin and prolactin which are effective in increasing and facilitating breast milk production. The nutritional content of banana blossoms includes protein, carbohydrates, fiber, fat, calcium, phosphorus, iron, copper, potassium, magnesium and vitamin E . Banana blossom is a type of plant that contains lactogagum, a substance that has the potential to stimulate breast milk production by increasing the hormones oxytocin and prolactin. To determine the effect of banana heart (Musa Paradisiaca L) on breast milk production in postpartum mothers at PMB Mendawaty in 2024. This research is a pre-experimental research with a one group pre test - post test design type. The independent variable in this research is the provision of banana blossoms (musa paradisiaca l) and the dependent variable is breast milk production in postpartum mothers. This research was conducted on 42 days postpartum mothers with a total of 40 respondents taken by purposive sampling. Researchers gave 200 grams of banana blossom every day for mothers to consume in the morning and evening for 7 days. The average value of breast milk production before giving banana blossoms to postpartum mothers at PMB Mendawaty was 110.83 ± 14.234 (95% CI 106.27- 115.38) and the median was 108.00, the lowest pre-test score was 87 ml and the highest score was 143 ml. After giving banana blossoms, the average was 140.18 and the standard deviation was 21.938 with a minimum score of 100 ml and a maximum of 180 ml. We found an increase in breast milk production with a difference of 29.35, meaning that during the 7 day trial of giving banana blossoms It was found that there was an increase with a difference of 29.35 ml before and after giving banana blossoms. The results of the paired t test/dependent sample t test (dependent samples) obtained P-values of 0.000 ≤ 0.05 with a confidence level of 95% so that it can be concluded that there is an influence of banana heart (Musa Paradisiaca L) on breast milk production in postpartum mothers. Hypothesis H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. This shows that there is an influence of giving banana blossoms to postpartum mothers on breast milk production p value 0.000 < 0.05.
