Abstract

Increasing students' learning independence is a crucial goal in sustainable educational development. This article discusses the development of the LUAR learning model (Learning, Understanding, Assessment, and Reward) which aims to increase students' learning independence. This research adopts a qualitative approach to explore the design concept of the learning model to be developed. The stages start from reviewing various literature regarding existing learning theories and learning models. Next, an analysis is carried out regarding the advantages and disadvantages of existing learning models so that they can form a conceptual basis for developing new learning model designs. Through the development of the LUAR learning model, it is hoped that it can create a learning environment that encourages students' learning independence to achieve success in education.

Abstract

This study aims to create a toponymy-based Digital Encyclopedia of the Cirebon City area which has biological elements so that it can be used as a learning resource for Plantae material for class X SMA/MA which is suitable for use in learning. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model. The results showed that there were 9 toponyms with biological elements in the form of plant names in Harjamukti District and Kesambi District in the Cirebon City area. The development of research results into learning resources on Plantae material in the form of a Digital Encyclopedia made using software called Sketchware. The Digital Encyclopedia created and developed in the form of an application can be run on smartphones with the Android operating system. The Digital Encyclopedia is suitable for use as a learning resource for Plantae Class X SMA/MA based on validation tests and teacher and student responsesABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat Ensiklopedia Digital berbasis toponimi wilayah Kota Cirebon yang memiliki unsur biologis sehingga dapat dijadikan sumber belajar pada materi Plantae kelas X SMA/MA yang layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

Digital infographics can be an alternative visual learning media that can be used both inside and outside the classroom. Content related to bacteria in relevant learning media is very important, as bacteria can be found almost everywhere, including on the exoskeletons of houseflies. Therefore, the aim of this study is to develop a digital infographic based on the identification of bacteria on the exoskeletons of houseflies using the ADDIE development model. Product validation was carried out by 3 experts, and implementation was conducted with 32 tenth-grade students at SMAN 20 in Gowa Regency. This digital Eubacteria infographic is a visual representation of research conducted in the FMIPA UNM laboratory. It illustrates six different types of bacteria identified from the exoskeleton of houseflies, complete with microscopic images and a brief description of each bacterium's characteristics. The infographic is packaged as an application accessible via Android smartphones. The results of the study show that the digital infographic was rated as very valid with an average score of 94%, very practical with an average score of 96%, and highly effective with an N-gain value of 0.8. This study indicates that the use of contextual learning media can improve students' learning outcomes.

Abstract

The housefly (Musca domestica) is a vector that can spread bacteria through its body organs. This study aims to identify the bacteria on the exoskeleton of houseflies. The samples were collected from boarding houses, Biology department and postgraduate program of Universitas Negeri Makassar using insect nets. Morphological observations were conducted on selective media (EMBA, MSA, and TCBSA), followed by Gram staining and biochemical tests. The results revealed six types of bacteria: Enterobacter sp., Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Vibrio cholerae, and Vibrio parahaemolyticus. Escherichia coli was found on houseflies collected from boarding houses. Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, and Escherichia coli were identified on houseflies from the postgraduate campus. Meanwhile, Enterobacter sp., Staphylococcus aureus, Vibrio cholerae, and Vibrio parahaemolyticus were found on houseflies from the Biology department campus. These findings indicate that houseflies from the Biology department campus harbored a greater quantity and diversity of bacteria compared to samples from other locations.
